Kyuubey is the secondary antagonist of All Worlds Alliance Missions: Madoka Magica.
Like his original counterpart, he is a "Messenger of Magic", he grants wishes to young girls to become a magical girl (Puella Magi) to fight off against witches, when in reality he's using them for his goal of preserving entropy. He serves as the arch-nemesis of Homura Akemi and Kyuubey the Failure, with the latter due to being an Incubator defector.
Due to this, he later becomes the secondary arch-enemy of All Worlds Alliance during the entire arc, as their appearance throws a wrench into the Incubators' goals.
Appearance[]
Similar to those of his original counterpart.
Personality[]
Similar to those of his original counterpart.
However, it is revealed in All Worlds Alliance Missions: Madoka Magica that he and his kind are hated by not only the All Worlds Alliance, but also the Apostles of the New World, particularly Chikage.
Background[]
Most of Kyuubey's backstory remains unchanged to his original counterpart.
All Worlds Alliance: Madoka Magica[]
In Chapter 2, Mami Tomoe, Sayaka Miki and the AWA team led by Kenji Kazama have immediately doubted Kyuubey's magical girl contracting right from the start during their conversation with the Incubator. Kenji, in particular, was more suspicious of the incubator himself, but he, Nanoha Takamachi and Izuku Midoriya went along with him to stave off any lingering suspicion.
In Chapter 4, despite Yoshika Miyafuji later throwing yet another wrench into his plans, where Yoshika healed Kyosuke Kamijou's hand instead of Sayaka like in the canon, Sayaka still decides to form a magical girl contract with Kyuubey, only her new wish is to protect Kyosuke rather than to wish him to play the violin again.
In Chapter 5, Kyuubey suddenly met his demise at the hands of Chikage Tachibana, who declared that the Apostles of the New World do not like his style of causing chaos, showing that not even the Apostles would want anything to do with his kind thanks to their barbaric practices; Chikage maliciously declared that he wants to get rid of all Incubators from existence by also "aiding" the AWA.
Legacy[]
While his death signalled the end of magical girl contracting, the witches including Oktavia von Seckendorff and later Walpurgisnacht are still running amok across Mitakihara.
His death also avoided Madoka's canon fate of being a Witch as she contracted to Kyuubey the Failure, an Incubator defector who is widely reviled by his kind, thus allowing Madoka to become a magical girl without the use of a Soul Gem. At the same time, it also meant the collapse of the Magical Girl system and the Incubators as a whole.
Trivia[]
- Unlike in the canon where he is the main antagonist of the whole franchise, Kyuubey is killed off in the middle of his story in AWA Missions: Madoka Magica. Walpurgisnacht instead takes over his spot.
