Lazar Moiseyevich Kaganovich (born 22nd November 1893), is character appearing in the Hearts of Iron IV mod The New Order: Last Days of Europe. He is a Soviet politician, administrator and associate of Joseph Stalin. He is currently the General Secretary of the All-Union Communist Party and leader of the West Siberian People's Republic or Tyumen. He is a major antagonist in the Western Siberian story and can become a villainous protagonist if the player chooses to take his path and unifies Russia.

Biography[]

Before Game Start[]

Lazar Kaganovich was a communist revolutionary joining the party and helping Lenin to overthrow the tsarist autocracy and become good friend with Joseph Stalin and supported him and his ideas to ascend to the high powers of the Soviet Union. But Lenin was smart of not letting Stalin to gain any more power and assigned Nikolai Bukharin to seize control of the Soviet Union which didn't sat well with Stalin, Kaganovich, and his supporters and start trying to scheme ways to get him out of power. Nikolai Bukharin had a hold of this and made Stalin to inspect a factory which was a plot to kill him and can be easily be covered up and it succeeded. He knew it was Bukharin's method to get rid of people he doesn't like and he started to campaign and gain support to remove him from power since he is becoming a very unlikable leader since he was continuing Lenin's NEP and made people to starve to death. Bukharin deciding to kill him like Stalin, but decided to reassign him to an unimportant post in Tyumen as a Factory manager which has no power and he would regret this later.

Personality[]

Just like his mentor and friend Joseph Stalin in real life: he is a paranoid, hot tempered, arrogant, cocky, manipulative, sociopathic tyrant who think Stalin's ideas are doing good for the Russian people which he sees a necessary Pyrrhic victory to make the new USSR to function well.

He does have some redeeming qualities too: such as going through measures of protecting his own people from German bombers, Helping people have good living standards, and also giving people comfort of wives (only to boost the population).

He is a sore loser as well since he screams and breaks down for being called a traitor to the Russian People in his trial.

Trivia[]

He and Dmitry Yazov, just like Rodzaevsky, doesn't live until the Regional Unification if Batov and Rokovosskvy clique manages to reunify the Ural Region and both gets sentenced to death due to their horrendous crimes against their people even if they see in their own twisted way, to help them.
- If Yazov manages to reunify the Ural Region, he and his party has a summary execution and are burried in a random spot in the taiga
Once He reunifies Russia he takes Stalin's IRL name in the Soviet Union, the man of steel.
