Light Yagami is the protagonist of Minecraft Death Note.
He was a high school senior who found a Death Note, a notebook that would kill anyone whose name was written in it. Initially skeptical of its abilities, Light tested the notebook on 3 Slimes. After realizing that it worked, he decided to use the notebook as a murder weapon to rid Minecraft of all hostile mobs. He became Kira, a figure that anonymously killed criminals for a while, and became obsessed with this goal, murdering some innocent mobs. His reign came to an end when he teleported a bunch of slimes to himself to gloat to L, it turned out to be too much for him, and the Slimes murdered Light Yagami in revenge.

Light is a young man, standing at above average height with light-brown hair and brown eyes. His school uniform consists of a tan suit and a red necktie.

Personality[]
Old Personality[]
Light did not start as a murderous god wannabe and vigilante. He was a sympathetic and popular, yet depressed student who was bored with his life, with real concerns about fixing the world of its various injustices and believed that the world was "rotten" because of the evil people in it.
It is upon discovering the Death Note and seeing its deadly effects, Light went mad with its power while believing himself to be the "chosen one" who would eradicate all the people he deems to be evil and hope to become the God of the new world.
Current Personality[]
Light is an unfeeling sociopath who is only driven by his immense hatred of criminals and is ready to do anything in order to become nothing less of a living deity. He is an extremely clever, psychopathic, and sly master manipulator who can easily act as an innocent and friendly individual in public who would never kill someone, while secretly killing dozens or hundreds of people each night. He is also sadistic, as he "laughed" after killing Lind L. Tailor.
Minecraft Death Note S1 Ep1: Rebirth[]
Light Yagami finds the Death Note on the ground. He does not believe it actually works until he tests it on three slimes. It works, and he decides to use it to kill all hostile mobs. He kills 4 zombies, then he goes home. He heads back to school for his prep courses. On the way, he uses the Death Note to kill 3 more Zombies. When he finishes his day of prep school, on the way home, he even kills a burning Skeleton and some more Slimes. Then he goes home.
Minecraft Death Note S1 Ep2: Confrontation[]
He leaves school, and kills more Slimes with his Death Note. He goes home, takes a shower, and heads back out, only for it to start raining. He tries to put on his rain clothes, but a Zombie comes. He kills the Zombie, then he kills a Phantom that came at him. When Lind L. Tailor introduces himself as L to Light. Tailor declares Light evil, and Light kills him with the Death Note. On the way home, he kills more Slimes, but finds out the real L is hiding in his house. Light declares he will find and kill L, and that he is justice.
Minecraft Death Note Volume 2 S1 Ep3: Encounter[]
He meets L in person. He and L briefly interact before Light Yagami is called up to the stage, and he graduates high school. He leaves, and kills multiple slimes as usual. He even destroys a beehive, which provokes the bees to sting him. He kills 2/3 bees with his Death Note, but the last one gets away. Then he kills another Slime. Then he goes home. He looks out of his window to look at his old school. He takes a shower, then heads back out and kills more Slimes. Afterwards he sees a Sheep. He thinks it over a bit, but then kills the Sheep. He heads back inside. He sees an army of Slimes through his window, and kills all of them with his Death Note. He goes back inside his house, and declares he will kill L.
Minecraft Death Note Volume 2 S1 Ep4: 1.28[]
He is in his dorm room. He leaves college to kill more mobs, then he goes to his house. He heads back out and kills more mobs. At daybreak, he discovers most of L’s last last name. He sees Lawlie⬜️, but the last letter is scrambled up. He declares he will kill L. Then he goes to his class. L briefly appears, but the two don’t interact, unlike the last episode. He leaves college after class is over, kills more Slimes, and tries to ride a horse, but the horse makes Light slip off. In retaliation, Light kills the horse with the Death Note. He then goes to his house, then his original room.
Minecraft Death Note Volume 2 S1 Ep5: New World[]
Light Yagami does his usual nightly killing spree of all hostile mobs. He discovers that L’s last name is “Lawliet”. He declares he will kill L Lawliet. He then makes Phantoms extinct. At daybreak, he breaks into L’s house, defeats his unburnt skeletons, and gloats to L. He decides to teleport every existing Slime to him so he can kill them, right before he kills L. The slimes murder Light Yagami, and L Lawliet wins.
Trivia[]
- Unlike his original counterpart, Light was unsuccessful in killing L.
- The text "he "laughed" after killing Lind L. Tailor." implies he actually felt remorse for killing Tailor, but in actuality, since players can't laugh in Minecraft, he typed "(laughing)" in the chat.
