Link is the main antagonist of Lafawndapasta’s Overthrown, which is a rewrite of “The King’s Suicide.” In the story, he wants to get revenge on the king.

In the story, his voicework is done by Lafawnda themself.

Personality[]

Unlike his original counterpart, Link has a far more descriptive personality in the story, such as his feelings towards King Harkinian.

Link seems to actively hate Harkinian, which is foreshadowed at the beginning of the story, with him glaring at him when he shifts his eyes to look at him, forcing him to go on a quest. Later in the story, Link reveals he’s bitter towards Harkinian, and would rather be with anyone else. Link also seems to have a hatred towards alcohol, as shown when he smashes the chalice on the floor at the end.

Link also reveals he only tried to get on Harkinian’s positive side due to his love for Zelda, only for her to make a fool out of him. All of these factors would lead him to join Ganon, and poison the king.

Biography[]

The Quest[]

The story first begins with the typical opening, Link commenting on how boring it is around the castle. Gwonam then comes and explains that Ganon’s army has invaded Koridai, causing the King to look at Link. Link uncharacteristically scowls at Harkinian, before the King orders him to be taken away, as he says “I’ll grab my stuff!”

Various cutscenes play, such as Harkinian forcing Onkled to scrub the floors in Hyrule, and Link overhearing a conversation between Zelda and Lady Alma. Afterwards, it would get to the final part.

OVERTHROWN[]

Link arrives to Ganon’s lair, where he begins to talk, only for Link to stop him, readying to speak before it cuts to black.

The next scene has Link returning to Harkinian one hour later, and telling him that Ganon disintegrated Zelda before he could get to him, much to Harkinian’s dismay. While he’s crying, Link switches out his drink for a brew made by Ganon, offering one final drink to her.

As the devastated Harkinian drinks the alcohol, Gwonam comes and reveals that Link has lied, and brings Zelda’s severed head, implying that Link murdered her. Enraged, Harkinian attempts to call Link out, but the brew takes effect, poisoning Harkinian.

Upon seeing the brew has worked, Link reveals his hatred towards Harkinian, going on a rant before spitting in his face. Afterwards, Link attacks Gwonam, deflecting his attacks, and eventually piercing his skull, killing him.

Once he’s finished, Link takes Harkinian’s crown and robes and dresses himself, but not before smashing his chalice. The story ends with Link seeing a throne, and most likely taking it.
