The Lunar Capital Army is a military force organized from the Lunar Capital for the purpose of completing the Moonlight Descent Ceremony and the main antagonists of Koishi Komeiji's Heart-Throbbing Adventure.
History[]
1980s[]
Following their occupation of Earth, the Lunar Capital Army began implementing the Human Instrumentality Project, an initiative to reshape human civilization into a pacifist utopia.
Under this project, the Lunarians abolished all standing militaries and enforced Article 9 of the Entire World, banning warfare entirely. This worldwide disarmament forced all negative and violent impulses to manifest in Gensokyo, concentrating the concept of “war” and “sin”. The Lunarians viewed this as a necessary purification step to prepare Earth for the Moonlight Descent Ceremony.
October 5th[]
After the Great Hakurei Barrier was destroyed and the Space Kaiju were all forced out into the outside world to rampage as per Toyohime's plan, humanity was forced to rely on the Lunar Capital Army to defend themselves from the kaiju attacks. With their arsenal of Combat Vijoka, the Lunarian soldiers hunted and killed all of the rampaging kaiju and having Hiten broadcast their battle against them, to focusing humanity's faith upon them and allowing the Lunarians to proceed with the Moonlight Defense Ceremony.
Once every kaiju was eliminated, the Lunarians initiated the final stage: a controlled demolition of the Moon’s surface. The explosion awakened the Moon’s Eye, causing it to descend toward Earth and awaken its counterpart symbolizing the reunion of the two celestial bodies and the culmination of Lord Tsukuyomi’s prophecy.
As a results, All sapient life on Earth was subsequently transformed into Satori, marking the completion of the Lunarians’ millennia-long plan. With their mission fulfilled, the Lunar Capital Army withdrew from the planet and returned to the Moon.
