~ Lute finally turning against Adam after the latter refused to return to Heaven |
Lute, also known as Exorcist Leader Lute, is the main protagonist of MilkyyMelodies' Hazbin Hotel fan song Angel of Wrath and one of the two main protagonists (alongside Adam) of its sequel, Turmoil. She also serves as the overarching antagonist of its midquel, Forever Longing.
She is one of the Exorcists and also Adam's loyal right-hand woman, with whom she is very close friends with. Unfortunately, Adam was killed during the attack on the Hazbin Hotel on Extermination Day and after his death, Lute was appointed to replace Adam as the leader of the Exorcists. As the leader of the Exorcists, Lute, filled with revenge, anger, and hatred towards all demons, is determined to take revenge by destroying all of Hell. Adam's death also left Lute mentally unstable and somewhat insane, turning her into a tyrannical and oppressive leader to her own Exorcists army.
She is voiced by MilkyyMelodies herself.
Backstory[]
Backstory[]
Not much is known about Lute's past before she becomes an Exorcist. What is known is that after her death, Lute was reborn in Heaven as a member of the Exorcists, a Heavenly army tasked with killing sinner demons in Exterminations to prevent an uprising. Lute became close friends with fellow Exorcist Vagatha or Vaggie. Lute and Vaggie later met their boss, Adam, the first human to be reborn as an angel, whom Lute quickly came to admire. Unfortunately, Lute's admiration for Adam strained her friendship with Vaggie, especially after seeing Adam compliment Vaggie's hairstyle, Lute cut her hair short so that she could be complimented as well. Eventually, Lute broke off her friendship with Vaggie after she and Adam deserted her in Hell after Vaggie spared a child cannibal demon. Vaggie was later found by Charlie Morningstar, the princess of Hell, and they formed a relationship after Charlie helped her.
Over the following years, Lute accompanied Adam on Exterminations not only to prevent an uprising, but also to kill demons for the sake of cruelty and hatred. This brought her into conflict with Charlie who wanted to save her people from Exterminations with Redemption, which is to redeem the sinner demons so that they can ascend to Heaven. Adam and Lute opposed Charlie's idea, considering it not possible. This conflict culminated in the Exorcist's attack on the Hazbin Hotel, where Lute fought Vaggie but was quickly defeated and Lute was forced to cut off her own left arm so that she could continue fighting. In the end, Lute witnessed Adam being killed by the sinner demon Niffty with a divine blade, leaving her in shock as she rushed to the dying Adam, begging him to stay with her. Unfortunately, Adam died after giving Lute a warm smile, which devastated and saddened her. Lute and the surviving Exorcists were forced to retreat back to Heaven after Lucifer Morningstar, the king of Hell and Charlie's father, threatened them.
The surviving Exorcists return to Heaven in defeat, but Lute is return with filled with anger, revenge, and grief. Lute then shows Adam's halo to Sera, who is shocked to learn that Adam is dead. The Elders of Heaven, who do not care much about Adam's death, then force Lute to become the leader of the Exorcists so the Exterminations can continues. Although she is initially reluctant to replace Adam, Lute soon realizes that she can use her position to take revenge on the demons, so he accepts the Elders' decision.
Angel of Wrath[]
Lute is then given a new white uniform with a big L on it, and while waiting for Sera, Lute waits in her room where she sees a picture of herself and Adam and resolves to become a leader like her role model. Sera then comes to Lute's room and paints her wings gold just like Adam's. After her wings were painted, Lute stands next to Sera to attend Lute's inauguration as the new Exorcist leader. Sera then places the golden halo on Lute's head, officially making her the new leader of the Exorcists. Lute is also given a new gold prosthetic left arm that can shoot blue beams.

Appearance[]
Lute's Exorcist leader outfit is similar to her original Exorcist outfit. However, instead of being gray and dark, her new outfit is white with yellow line. The top to the neck is black with yellow wavy lines. On her shoulders, there are black feather-like accessories. Lute now wears a gold belt, as well as bbladk long gloves and long shoes with yellow lines. On her outfit, there is a big black L letter. Because her left hand was cut off in her battle against Charlie and his allies, Lute was fitted with a gold prosthetic arm whose hand and arm are connected by some kind of blue light. Her wings are painted gold similiar to Adam's. Her mask is similar to her previous mask, but now white and her eyes and mouth are yellow instead of white. Lute also wears a yellow halo as a sign that she is the Exorcist leader.
Personality[]
While Lute was already quite cruel, sadistic, and xenophobic towards demons, Adam's death only exacerbated these negative traits. Now, Lute is a vengeful, hateful, and ambitious warrior who is determined to get revenge. She now has a great hatred for not only the demons responsible for Adam's death, but demons as a whole, to the point that she believes that only by destroying all of Hell can she have her revenge. Lute hates demons so much that she imagines chained them up with a smile just to satisfy her hatred. It is also revealed that Lute's hatred for demons extends not only to normal demons, but also to former demons who have ascended as angels, as despite being angels, Lute still sees them as filthy demons who deserve to be mistreated. This is shown when Lute cruelly treats Sir Pentious in prison, scaring the latter, and feeling that scaring him was not enough, Lute even cruelly and without a second thought destroys the eggs Sir Pentious had collected to replace his Egg Bois out of sheer cruelty, even laughing arrogantly after doing the unkind act.
Thinking that compassion and care would hinder her from taking revenge, Lute without a second thought decides to throw all her compassion and care away, thus making him a harsh, hot-tempered, and uncaring leader who sees her fellow Exorcists as pawns to be abused. This is shown when she walks past two Exorcists who did not salute him, Lute angrily shouts at them to salute her, which they do in fear. The most infamous example of Lute's heartless actions towards her fellow Exorcists is when after destroying Sir Pentious' eggs, an Exorcist who took pity on Sir Pentious showed kindness by giving him the intact egg. However, Lute, seeing the Exorcist's kindness, deemed her a traitor and without a second thought and remorse, threw the Exorcist into a holding cell as well, showing that Lute has become a tyrannical, oppressive, and selfish leader to her fellow Exorcists and no longer cares about them.
Much like Adam, Lute is a hypocrite, as she wants to kill the demons and destroy Hell because they killed the only person she loved, even though Lute and Adam have killed many demons who seemed to have families they loved. She also considers demons not innocent, despite the fact that the Exorcists are no innocent either because while the demons are indeed somewhat evil, they have at least never attempted genocide against angels.

Trivia[]
- Lute calls herself the "Angel of Wrath", which is quite ironic considering that Wrath is one of the Seven Deadly Sins, which is represented by Satan. So, Lute is indirectly equating herself with Satan.
