It's here, my children.
„
~ MOTHER's first spoken words in Five Nights at Treasure Island.noicon
“
No...! No! No, no, no, no, no, NO!! What did you do?! They were children, my children!! I took them under my care! I protected them... They did nothing to you people, until you came...! They didn't know why you were doing anything to them... They didn't even understand what you wanted...! They were scared! And you killed them! You people shouldn't have come here. I shouldn't have led you. I've seen what you people do before... Everything that you do here! Every time your team meddles in something they can't understand... Every time they push and prod and poke too deep! You don't even realize that the grass you step on... the air you breathe... It's all... me! I've always been here... every... single... time...! Even if you didn't realize it. Even if you didn't recognize me. I have been here, forever... and I will be here forever... But! Even after the countless amount of times I've seen this play out. The eternities I've spent with you! ...I never thought you'd go this far! I was wrong to let you pollute this place, to walk all over me, as long as I did. I was wrong not to do anything a long, long time ago. It will all end here. I will make sure of it!

~ MOTHER's speech prior to Night 5 after Hourglass is incinerated in Oblitus Casa.noicon
MOTHER is the main antagonist of the Five Nights at Treasure Island series.
She is a mysterious silhouette resembling a completely black version of Mickey Mouse that wanders around the abandoned Treasure Island resort, stalking and trying to kill anyone who enters. Unlike the other toons, MOTHER relies on distraction and hallucinations to attack her enemies. In the final boss of Oblitus Casa, she takes on the physical form of MickMick to get revenge on Jake for Hourglass's incineration.
She is voiced by i.M.Hoshi in Five Nights at Treasure Island, and Alexia Crystal in Oblitus Casa. As MickMick, she is voiced by both Malrat_ and Alexia Crystal.
MOTHER appears to be a silhouette (or a "shadow") resembling Mickey Mouse, consisting of a fully black body and white rings for eyes. If she uses color-invertion, her body becomes white and her eyes becomes black. She doesn't have any facial details other than her eyes.
In the final boss of Oblitus Casa, MOTHER reveals her physical form as MickMick, a Mickey Mouse character with blank, sunken eyelids. While the typical MickMick features human eyes where the lids are, they instead feature MOTHER's white ring eyes. Eventually, MOTHER's MickMick form gains extended limbs and a longer face, as well as a wider grin and completely blank eyes.
In older versions of Five Nights at Treasure Island, MOTHER formerly appears as a ghostly white, yet very curvaceous female humanoid with a slender-like body, and facial details.
Personality[]
MOTHER is shown to be an unscrupulous individual who has no restraints or morals and is willing to do whatever is necessary to maintain the power she has over other people. Anyone who visits Discovery Island, she automatically tries to kill, and if she has a particular target, she is determined to take them down no matter the cost, seeing them as a challenge to her ideals.
She is also an intelligent schemer, as it appears she is only using the toons that do her work for her as pawns and only pretends to "love" them, and she also tricks them into believing that she created them, when they were really created by the public. Despite her murderous tendencies, MOTHER prefers to stay in the background and let the toons kill other people for her, preferring not to do things on her own unless necessary, such as when Jake kills Hourglass in Oblitus Casa.
Overall, she is an self-indulgent, loathsome psychopath who truly cares for no one but herself, only caring about maintaining her control over Discovery Island and willing to kill anyone who gets in the way in order to do so.
Biography[]
Official[]
Five Nights at Treasure Island[]
There is not much information regarding MOTHER prior to or following the events of the game, as she is left ambiguous from the beginning. However, as revealed by Oblitus Casa, she is always present during the game, if not visible as herself, most likely through her Shade counterparts, irritated by Jake Smith's relentlessness to the degree of forcing the main toons (barring The Face) together into the entity known as Hourglass. After Jake visits Floor 3 of Pirate Caverns and opens the vault to reveal an animation studio, MOTHER follows him down into the vault and knocks him unconscious, forcing him to remain on Discovery Island until he is picked up, still watching over everything happening. Prior to Jake being sent to the island, MOTHER killed Henry Miller and trapped his spirit in Undying and then trapped his spirit in Pirate Caverns, forcing him to remain underground until he was unintentionally released by Jake following Henry attempting to communicate with him twofold. Though it is unseen, she also kills Greg Mac Lochlainn and Lisa Bertsch, of whom were the ones that sent Jake to the island in the first place.
In the final ending of Oblitus Casa, as well as in her speech prior to her final boss mentioning "countless times" and "eternities", it is also revealed that she is the force behind every released version of the game, repeatedly killing the Supernatural Studies Association and sending the toons/suits to do her bidding by attempting to kill Jake. Additionally, she forces Henry Miller into becoming Undying no matter what.
Oblitus Casa[]
At the end of Night 4, following the incineration of Hourglass by Jake's hand, MOTHER proceeds to talk down to Jake for killing the amalgamation, since it was an amalgamation of the toons, of whom she proclaims as her "children". Seeing him having killed the amalgamation by his own hands and by extent, her as well too since she sent Hourglass after Jake, she proceeds to berate him for his actions, saying that when the investigation team was investigating the island, the toons had no idea what the team were doing to them nor what was happening around them, to the extent of being completely terrified, telling him off for killing them. Upon being provoked, she then tells him that she has been present on the island the entire time, monitoring everything within every second, though invisible, declaring that she will kill him for returning. Following her declaration, she proceeds to transform into a physical form, that of MickMick, and searches around the cabin for him attempting to kill him herself. Halfway through the night as Jake fends her off, she transforms into a more aggressive, slender form, only for Jake to beat her as the night ends and the sun rises. Due to the fire set alight for Hourglass below, however, it ends up spreading, causing her to be burned alive, wailing in horror and pain upon being defeated. What is even worse is that she indirectly cause the rest of "her children" burned due to Jake being force to use fire to survive. This also resulted Jack being traumatized from MOTHER's actions.
Behavior[]
MOTHER[]
During the entirety of Night 6 in Five Nights at Treasure Island, MOTHER makes her only appearance as a game mechanic, flashing briefly in front of the player every time the monitor is lowered, even during the phone call from Henry, allowing her to serve as a distraction to the means of Hourglass, of whom she deems "her children".
In Oblitus Casa, during Night 1, at 5:30 AM, MOTHER kills the player herself via a scripted sequence in order to introduce the Post-Mortem mechanic. In Night 5, MOTHER can briefly appear in each of the cameras and break them permanently if the player lingers on a camera in which she is present, being able to break the signal almost instantly. She can be deterred simply by flashing the camera. Throughout the night, MOTHER will also attempt to fill herself in on the notepad held by the player, which will lead to MickMick ending the run if not attended to. This can be countered simply by erasing her image using the eraser.
MickMick[]
In Oblitus Casa, during Night 5 only, MOTHER takes on the physical form of MickMick. If MickMick's eyeholes contain visible eyes, that of MOTHER's, the player must use the camera flash to send her back by one step. If they are blank, the player must use the music box to lure her to the necessary camera instead. Occasionally, she may enter the attic if she is inside, causing her to disappear from the camera systems, and the player must avoid entering the area as she will immediately end their run if encountered. In phase two, MickMick increases in speed, applying the same behavior.

Trivia[]
The idea of "Purity" being a name for the classic version of MOTHER, being GOD, is a common misconception.
It is stated by lead director Nocturnum that MOTHER is not the creator of the toons, implying that she usurped power from the original creator, as implied by her saying she "took them" under her care with no mention of having "birthed" them. However, this original creator in question goes unanswered in Oblitus Casa, and MOTHER is instead referred to as the core of the paranormal activity within the series by her first victim within the story, Henry Miller.
Throughout the series, it is notable that the only times MOTHER makes an appearance in the main night sections of the games is in relation to Hourglass, of whom is a merge of the toons from the main four nights of the first game, of whom she considers "her children" due to taking their essence from their original creator. In Night 6, MOTHER serves as a distraction when Hourglass makes its first appearance, and in Night 5 of the sequel, MOTHER becomes an enemy in the form of MickMick primarily due to Hourglass, consisting of the toons from the main four nights, being destroyed by Jake.
Peculiarly, the behavior of every enemy in the first game besides The Face and Undying, since they do not possess this feature and are entirely separate individuals, is technically also MOTHER's own, as the player can see her eyes visible in the heads of the toons when the lights are turned off, since they are under her control. This is not the case when the toons in the first four nights merge into Hourglass, as the entity itself is the one in control rather than MOTHER, having lost any humanity the toons might have possessed individually, which is why she refers to them in more separate terms once the player destroys it following the Tunnels section of Night 4.
The boss themes of Hourglass in the first game and MOTHER/MickMick in Oblitus Casa are of similar composition in that they both are designed around chipper synth strings slowed down into an ambient, foreboding drone, with additional ambient details added onto it.
A common misconception is that MOTHER trapped Jake and possibly the others in a time loop however, Nocturnum confirms there is no time loop.
