Maleficent is one of the major villains in the Character What franchise. She is one of Shadow Aaron's right-hand villains, and a member of The Forces of Evil. Maleficent is also the main antagonist from Disney's 16th full-length animated feature film Sleeping Beauty.
She is a evil fairy/witch who curses Queen Leah's beloved Princess Aurora as revenge for King Stefan for not inviting her to the christening of Aurora. She is also the arch-nemesis of the Three Good Fairies, Princess Aurora and Prince Phillip.
Personality[]
Like her canon counterpart, Maleficent is the embodiment of evil. She is evil, devious, ruthless, sadistic, malicious and wicked and will do whatever it takes to achieve her goals and cause pain, misfortune and suffering to others. Like in the film, she is sinister and sadistic, as she relishes in the pain and misery of others, as shown when she taunts a chained Prince Phillip after capturing him and locking him in her dungeon. Maleficent still remains very persuasive, abrasive, unpleasant and narcissistic as her original counterpart, as she still mocks the Three Fairies for the failure to save Princess Aurora, and for the fact that they thought they could defeat "the mistress of all evil", indicating that she thinks herself above everyone, even calling her minions "her pets", considering them to inferior to her. Maleficent is also sarcastic, as shown when she psychologically tortures Prince Phillip, she states that when Phillips is set free he will be "straight and tall", despite her vision showing Phillip as a elderly man, who is barely even able to stay straight correctly.
Despite her wicked personality, Maleficent does had some redeeming qualities, as she treats her pet raven Diablo with genuine affection, such as stroking the bird on several occasions. She also genuinely cares about Diablo, as seen when she suffered a villainous breakdown after learning that one of the fairies turned her beloved pet raven into a permanent stone stature. Despite considering herself to be above all, Maleficent very loyal and respectful to her superiors, especially Shadow Aaron, as she is shown helping carrying out Shadow Aaron's plans, such as recruiting villains for him, as well as reviving deceased villains to re-join him.
According to Shadow Joe, Maleficent lacks the knowledge of love, or kindness, or even joy in helping others, indicating she shows no sympathy or empathy towards others. However, when she captured Prince Phillip, she taunts toward Phillip regarding his role to undo her curse, and later she tries to prevent Phillip from reaching King Stefan's castle, implying that she knows about love realize it was massive threat to her curse on Princess Aurora.
