Mario, also known as the Red Devil is the titular main antagonist of the short animated film by Mashed, Goombageddon: Mario Bros.
He is seemingly a member of the Mushroom Kingdom's army or at least some kind of associate, known for brutally killing anyone who stood in his way. He became feared by anyone who would encounter him, especially those who would survive his attacks.
He was voiced by RicanFly, who also the voiced Wario in Dial L For Luigi and Mugman in Secret History.
Biography[]
Not much is known about Mario's past, but it does seem likely that he began working with the Mushroom Kingdom's army before the events of the video, and he had taken out countless enemies in the past, making himself a known threat to Bowser and his forces.
After Bowser's troops took down a majority of the Mushroom Kingdom's army, they were assigned to handle a single target located in a warp pipe. After arriving, the soldiers would hear a voice coming from the pipe right before a mutilated piranha plant would be thrown out of the pipe and land before them. Mario would then jump out of the pipe and land on top of one of the goomba soldiers, crushing him with his feet. Bowser's troops would immediately try to make their attack, only for Mario to begin slaughtering them all like animals. Soldiers would jumped on, crushed, and mutilated by the merciless plumber.
Soon, Mario would use one of his fire flowers and begin to scorch the remaining survivors, killing them all. Only one goomba would remain and Mario would go up to him, and instead of killing him, Mario would tell the goomba to tell everyone else what he had saw there today, presumably as a warning.
Years later, the same goomba, now older, would tell several goomba children his story, telling them not to go out into war unprepared like he did to get mercilessly slaughtered by "the Red Devil" himself, but to get fit and have robotic arms and guns like him. However, before anything else could happen, Mario would arrive and jump on top of the older goomba, leading to his weapons firing upon the children. One child, while scarred, would survive, and Mario would give him the same warning he had given the older goomba years prior.
Personality[]
Compared to his original counterpart, Mario is incredibly merciless, cold, and brutal. He doesn't really seem to have any standards to who or what he kills, seemingly being completely fine with killing a defenseless koopa troopa with his own shell and killing several goomba children at the end of the video. A majority of his kills are incredibly brutal too, burning multiple goombas alive, crushing multiple goombas with his own feet, and using a chain chomp to crush other opponents. He also seems to want to make himself seem like a threat to anybody who survives his attacks, instead of killing them, he just spares them but gives them a warning to "tell the others."

- Despite the nature he presents in the video, some people in the comments sections have made the argument that Mario isn't actually evil and is more just doing what he must to keep the Mushroom Kingdom safe from invaders, considering it is mentioned Bowser's forces did wipe out a majority of the Mushroom Kingdom's military and it could easily be assumed that Bowser is still malicious in this world and doesn't have good intentions. However, despite this, it is also worth noting that Bowser's motives are never actually mentioned in the video and even if Mario was still just doing what he could to protect the Kingdom, his murders were incredibly brutal and he had no real good reason to kill the older goomba and several children at the end of the video, considering there did not appear to be any kind of war or invasion going on at that time.
- Though a majority of the video is supposed to take place in the past, when Mario returns at the end of the video, he appears to have not aged at all. This could heavily indicate that goombas may have a shorter lifespan.
