Mathius, also known as King Mathius of Somalia and The Somalian King, is the main antagonist of Disney's The Royal Nigerian franchise.
He is the cruel and manipulative ruler of the slaved Kingdom of Zingatia in Somalia who holds grudge against other powerful kingdoms in Africa and planned to conquer them all by killing other royalties, including the Nigerians where Mukanda is its only kingdom and nearly became the latter's final victims. He serves as the arch-nemesis of Hasani who is the series' main hero and the one who would end his tyranny, the arch-rival of his father Khamani, and master of Kirabo who leads his Royal Somalian Guards to ransack many villages and arrest tribe to become part of their slavery.
He was voiced by Bokeem Woodbine who also played Herman Schultz/The Shocker in Spider-Man: Homecoming, Mike Milligan in Fargo, Gordon "G-Man" Thomas in Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Derek Keyes in Chicago P.D., and Harry in the Total Recall remake.
Appearance[]
Mathius was inspired by real life African actors, such as Chiwetel Ejiofor and Chukwudi Iwuji, as he is slender tall with dark black skin, wearing clothes that are red and gold.
Personality[]
As heir to the throne of Zingatia and his destiny to rule over Somalia, Mathius hold a serious grudge against the Nigerians who seem to have more power than him and are being more flexible than his kingdom.
Powers and Abilities[]
Despite being a tyrannical king of his kingdom and country, Mathius was left with sorcery and forbidden black magic, thus made him become the most powerful king in all of Africa, and used it to spread threat around his land. But he would only use them when he comes face-to-face with his enemies and people who dares to stand up to him.
