In war, nothing is more painful than watching the death toll rise endlessly. Our war has done no less to this planet. We were brothers once..
~ Megatron admitting his wrongdoings

Megatron, briefly known as Galvatron, is a major character in TFI Creation’s YouTube series. He was once Optimus Prime’s brother in arms and worked under Sentinel Prime alongside him. One day, he came across the Fallen’s sarcophagus and would be indoctrinated into his cause to reform the Decepticons. However, after being defeated time and time again by the Autobots, he eventually disbanded the Decepticons and joined his former enemies to defeat Unicron.

He was voiced by Zachary Fuller in The Legends Exists, Samuel Jay Flatman in Transfomers Origins Unknown - Foundation, and StinkyBlueRat in Transformers: Finest Hour.

Roles[]

He serves as the tritagonist of Transfomers Origins Unknown - Foundation, the main protagonist of The Legend Exists (The Last Knight Prequel), and one of the two deuteragonists (alongside Bumblebee) of Transformers: Finest Hour.

Personality[]

Much like his official counterpart, Megatron is an egomaniacal warlord that doesn’t value human life or those around him. However, before his reign of terror as the Decepticon leader, he respected Optimus Prime as his brother and had a close bond with him. During Transformers Finest Hour, Megatron is shown to be more heroic and selfless, willing to finally do things that benefited others rather than himself. Near the end of the film, he was also shown to have a sense of humor, something that surprised Optimus.

History[]

At some point in time, Megatron would join Optimus by his side to work under Sentinel Prime to rule over and protect Cybertron. When Cybertron started to lose energy, a Cybertronian named Ironhide decided to form the Thetacons, and wished to gather all of the Energon left on Cybertron for his alliance. The Autobots engaged with this alliance, but they were overpowered by Ironhide’s army. After a long battle, Megatron thanks Optimus for saving him and finally introduces himself to the young clerk.

While Megatron was constructing a space bridge with Shockwave, Sentinel alerts his second-in-command that Ironhide and the Thetacons discovered the Allspark. Megatron and Shockwave use the prototype to get to them quicker and outnumber the intruders. Ironhide doubts Sentinel’s idea to revive the Allspark, and was ridiculed by Megatron. Ironhide decides to stand down, hoping that he is right about his idea. While the Autobots are setting up the Allspark, Megatron confronts Optimus, and asks why he is alone. When Optimus explains his doubt to lead, he comforts him and explains that he had moments of doubt as well. However, he is called back by Sentinel when the Thetacons start to grow inpatient. Ironhide and his group began to destroy Sentinel lab. During the battle, Optimus arrives and orders Wheeljack to activate the space bridge to a distant star. They were successful in restoring the Allspark with the star, and rejuvenates everyone. Ironhide apologizes, but Megatron is angered that he isn’t punished for his crimes before Optimus calms him down. Later, Megatron is impressed by the increasing amount of life being created on the planet. However, he learned that Sentinel gave Optimus a chance to be the next leader, and he refused. When he returned to Shockwave, he told him the news and learned that a giant Driller burrowed its way into their headquarters. Arcee and some Cybertronians were able to drive it away, while one laments the fact that he didn’t get the chance to kill it. The Cybertronian was Starscream, the seeker commander. Megatron orders Shockwave to hunt down the driller, and searches for Optimus to talk about monster. Optimus believes that his brother is more worthy of the title of prime, and Megatron thanks him. While Arcee is digging through ancient Cybertronian ruins, she uncovers the Fallen’s sarcophagus, and Megatron orders Optimus to take the artifact back. When the Autobots leave, the first Decepticon speaks through the artifact and begins to manipulate his new disciple. Once he was fully corrupted by the Fallen, the Decepticons were reformed and a new Cybertronian War Began. This brough about millions of years of combat and destruction, ultimately ending with his death in Transformers: Dark of the Moon.

After the events of Transformers: Age of Extinction, Megatron, who was reborn as Galvatron, reunited with Barricade and ridiculed the Decepticon cop for fleeing the battle of Mission City and Chicago. When Barricade tries to reason with Galvatron, Quintessa speaks to the Deception leader, and Galvatron orders his Decepticons to leave him to speak with the disembodied voice. Quintessa orders him to obey her every word, and electrocuted him when he refused. He then recognized the voice before she forces him to witness every single one of his failures. She offers Galvatron a chance to redeem himself, and he reconstructs him in her own image. Once he reverts back to Megatron, he reunited with Barricade, who received a new alt-mode, and informs him of his new plan.

After the events of The Last Knight, Megatron landed back on earth, and had his arm repaired by Barricade. He was surprised that Barricade acted less cowardly than he usually is. He also comments that Quintessa stopped speaking to him despite still retaining her mark. After his repairs were done, he noticed one of Unicron’s parasites. He destroyed it when the bug shoots him, but another sneaks in from behind and attacks Barricade before getting destroyed by Megatron but the parasite was able to infect Barricade before its destruction. They eventually run into Bumblebee and Hot Rod. When Barricade asks Megatron to attack, his master tells his minion to attack instead. Once Bumblebee takes down Barricade, Megatron expresses how impressed he is with the scout being able to take him down. Suddenly, Barricade explodes due to the parasite’s infection, and Megatron tells Bumblebee that he wants to help the Autobots destroy Unicron. He explains that the countless battles and lies by his former superiors has made him grow tired of conflict. Optimus Prime arrives and attempts to kill him. When Bumblebee and HotRod tried to give Megatron a chance to explain himself, he questions why Megatron is finally putting Earth before himself. Megatron then explains that he let Optimus live when he was given the roll of prime because he knew that Cybertron needed him. He finally admits that the war has only made things worse and how Quintessa has taken advantage of them all. Megatron wonders how they will destroy Unicron without harming Earth, and learns that Quintessa’s staff would not be the best solution. As the two continue to discuss, Megatron assures his brother that Optimus doesn’t need to forgive him since he couldn’t forgive himself either. Suddenly, Quintessa’s Knights arrived and began to explain where Unicron came from, the extent to Quintessa’s deception, and the true origin of the Cybertronians. The Knights explained that the Allspark is Unicron’s only weakness, and the Matrix of Leadership contains the essence of it. Optimus sends HotRod and Bumblebee to look for a space bridge pillar in England while he and Megatron form a plan.

Optimus admits that he doesn’t trust Megatron with the Matrix, and he reminds him that he cannot use the matrix since he isn’t worthy enough to use it. Once the two return with the space bridge pillars, Hot Rod watches over Megatron as Bumblebee and Optimus engage with conversation. After his conversation, he asks Megatron to be kind from now on before ordering his team to activate the pillars. They teleport into Unicron’s body, and Megatron assures the team that the chaos god is aware of their presence before his parasites began attacking them. The team began their counterattack, and move closer to Unicron’s spark. Optimus drives through the deity’s body and attempts to destroy it with the Matrix. However, Unicron severs Optimus’ hand, and began torturing the Autobot leader. Megatron takes this opportunity to take the Matrix and merges it with Optimus’ sword before plunging it into the dark God’s spark. With Unicron finally killed, Megatron returns the Matrix to Optimus and the team returns back to the surface. Later, Megatron was met with the option to stay and protect Earth with the Autobots, but declined his offer and wishes to leave Earth. Optimus wishes him luck, and the former warlord departs for the stars.
