Megatron, later known as Galvatron, is the secondary antagonist of the TFI Creations YouTube series, serving as the main antagonist of the Transformers Interstellar sub-series.
He is the founder of the Decepticons in the Interstellar universe, and is the one who caused the Great Cybertronian War. The war would eventually be brought to Earth, and the Autobots attempted, and succeeded with evacuating every human from earth. After his death, he was revived as Galvatron with the help of Nemesis Prime. In the original version, he was voiced by Jared Valkki. But in the remake, he was voiced by Zachery Fuller.
Roles[]
He serves as the main antagonist of Transformers Interstellar: Escape from Earth and Transformers Interstellar, one of the two overarching antagonist, alongside Lockdown, of Transformers Interstellar: Return to Earth, and one of the two secondary antagonists of Gigawatt: Rise of the Fallen.
History[]
Origin[]
He was once an apprentice that served under Sentinel Prime alongside librarian Orion Pax. He wished to obtain the Matrix of Leadership to lead Cybertron through a new era of peace through tyranny. When he was denied the Matrix, he grew angered and left Orion behind to form the Decepticons. He caused the Cybertronian War, which left their home planet a desolate wasteland. The war wasn’t without its consequences, as the Decepticons depleted the entire universe of Energon. The Autobots fled to Earth, but that only brought more destruction as the Decepticons arrived to destroy them for good. After the Autobots believed that the Decepticons were finally gone, they staged another attack around the world that was far more devastating than before. When Optimus announces to humanity that he wishes to evacuate the planet, Megatron proposes the idea that they should stay and die. Later, he and Starscream brought a human to their secret hideout, and mocks the fact that they killed his family. When Jazz and HotRod attempt to save the human, they were overpowered by Megatron, and starscream executed the human. Meanwhile, one of the last group of humans were instructed to enter one of the Autobot arks, but they were captured by Lockdown and brought aboard his own ship. Megatron congratulated Lockdown for his work, and mocked Jetfire for defecting against his cause. Fortunately, Jetfire was able to lead the last remaining group of humans to one of the arks, and safely send them into space.
Reborn as Galvatron[]
57 days after the global evacuation, Megatron reminds Lockdown of his deal. He takes the Matrix of Leadership and allows Megatron to kill the Autobots. He starts with Jetfire, then Strafe and Bumblebee. Once the Autobots were freed from a status lock, Optimus stabs Megatron in the back, and retreat with the remaining Autobots. After they left Megatron alone, Starscream returns to execute Megatron, and temporary takes over as leader of the Decepticons. Meanwhile, Lockdown converted the Matrix of Leadership into a Dark Energon Matrix, and infused Optimus with it. He was reborn as Nemesis Prime, and killed both Lockdown and Hound. He would later uncover Megatron’s corpse, and revived him as Galvatron. Nemesis would turn submit to Galvatron, and now acts as his second-in-command. The two would confront StarScream and the remaining Decepticons, and Galvatron orders Nemesis to recreate Starscream into Terror, and was pleased with the fact that Terror doesn’t remember his previous life. He orders Nemesis to recreate other transformers into drones, including turning Bumblebee into Goldbug. When Blackout is ambushed by Nemesis, Galvatron informs his former minion that times has changed, and proclaimed that Decepticons have become weak and pathetic before allowing Nemesis to transform him into another drone. When Blackout calls out his sudden change, Galvatron embraces his new name before Blackout is converted into a drone.
Defeat[]
Later, Galvatron asks Nemesis to give his matrix to him, but was denied. Once Sentinel Prime arrived on earth, Nemesis Prime’s matrix was replaced with the Matrix of the Primes, and Optimus returns to normal. Galvatron was angered by his redemption, and plans to kill every single human that fled earth and force Optimus to watch their bodies rain down from the sky. The next day, he orders his drones to kill the Autobots, and to bring Optimus Prime and the Dark Energon-infected CrossCut. Once his drones leave, Galvatron reflects on his life, and was angered by the fact that Optimus was more worthy of the matrix than him, proclaiming that it wasn’t supposed to be this way. Once the Autobots arrived to their location, Galvatron orders his drones to attack, and goes after Barricade, one of his defected Decepticons. He executes the traitor after he calls him an empty husk of his former self. Cords cut then attacks Galvatron, who then takes control of the infected Autobot, and forces him to execute his comrade Arcee. Galvatron attacks Optimus before he uses the Matrix of the Primes to destroy Galvatron’s army. Galvatron was then reverted back into Megatron and laments the fact that he can’t take back what he had done, and proclaims that they can rebuild before he passes on.
Legacy[]
When Optimus unleashed the Matrix, a surge of energy wrapped around the Earth, and transformed multiple animal life forms into Cybertronians. One of them was the fossils of a Tyrannosaurus Rex that witnessed the extinction of the Dinosaurs. The revived purple T-Rex approached Megatron’s corpse and was flooded with his memories. When it encountered a revived velociraptor, he transforms into a robot that resembles Megatron, and decides to take on his name.
Rise of the Fallen[]
When the Fallen and the Shattered Glass Optimus Prime steals the Dark Spark, he uses it to travel to the RE-Interstellar universe, specifically to when Galvatron asks for Nemesis’s Matrix. Both of the duos eventually engaged in a fight, which ended with the Fallen killing Nemesis Prime and stealing his Matrix. When Galvatron begs for the Fallen to answer why he is doing, he is ordered by Optimus to stand down. He recognizes the Fallen, and questions his return and what suffering he could get rid of. When he claims that he can give him the perfect Optimus Prime, Galvatron furiously asks why he killed Nemesis. The Fallen answers that by explaining that an Orion that was loyal to him from the beginning does exist, and can give him to Galvatron if he descides to serve his namesake. The trio ambushes Gigawatt who fled to the OR-Interstellar universe, and the Fallen attempted and failed to bring him to his side, and leave him in that universe. They return to the Shattered Glass universe, and the Fallen gifted Optimus and Galvatron with new upgraded forms with the power of the Dark Energon Matrix, depleting it of energy.
Final Defeat[]
They eventually learned that Gigawatt is forming a team to take them down, and decided to wait for them to come face them. Optimus is excited over the fact that he gets to kill more enemies, something that Galvatron was impressed by. Galvatron talks with Optimus, and questions the legitimacy of his promises. Once Gigawatt arrives to try and convince the disciples that the Fallen is lying, the Fallen orders then to execute Gigawatt, but his team arrive to protect him from their firepower. When Galvatron emits a beam of Dark Energon towards Hotspot Prime, First Aid activates a shield to protect him. The RE-Interstellar Prime would gain the upper hand on Galvatron and called him out on not being the brother he once knew. After The Fallen and Gigawatt return from their multi-dimensional battle, Gigawatt grabs a matrix-infused sword, and calls for the other primes to use their matrixes against the villains. While the Fallen was merely weakened by the blast, Galvatron and Optimus were disintegrated, ending their heinous crimes for good.
Trivia[]
- RE-Interstellar Megatron seems to be a combination of two portrayals of the character. His name being Megatronus before the war, his research of the Fallen rather than meeting him in person, and being revived by dark Energon are all traits associated with his Aligned Continuity counterpart. Meanwhile, traits such as serving under Sentinel Prime and his designs were based on his Bayverse Counterpart.
- While the moment where he is killed before he was supposed to could be seen as a plot hole in Gigawatt part 4, the film explained that when something is taken out of a universe and isn’t there when it’s supposed to, it causes a new timeline to form, similar to how the MCU explains timelines.
- This could also mean that after Nemesis’ death in this new timeline, Beast Wars Megatron would’ve never turned to villainy since his namesake was taken out of it.
- Megatron was portrayed by the following figures:
- Studio Series 13 Megatron
- Generations Galvatron (without vehicle kibble)
- Studio Seires 31 Battle Damaged Megatron
- Unique Toys UT R-04 Nero
