~ Megatronus' villainous breakdown after killing Sentinel as he demands the destruction of Iacon City
Sentinel, the betrayer is dead. But his death has given life to a new enemy, a stronger enemy, a personal enemy. One thing, that was supposed to turn things around, has now become a disaster. The day Sentinel was killed marked the revenge, of The Fallen. DECEPTICONS!!! RISE UP!!!
~ Megatronus' speech to the newly-formed Decepticons at the ending, renaming himself as The Fallen

Megatronus Prime, later known as The Fallen, is the titular main protagonist of the Transformers One fanmade comic What If Megatronus Prime Survived by Viktor Redd Mikhailov.

In this alternate universe of Transformers One, Primus resurrected Megatronus so he could assist Orion Pax and D-16 in stopping the tyrannical and corrupt Sentinel Prime, with Primus giving him a weaker T-Cog that will get stronger over time. However, after learning that Sentinel's betrayal resulted in the death of the Primes, including his girlfriend, Solus Prime, coupled with the fact that Sentinel had enslaved the Cybertronians, the mighty Prime ultimately fell into a darker path, where he became a ruthless tyrant determined to rule Cybertron with rage and vengeance. After being banished by Orion who was rechristened into Optimus Prime, Megatronus took over the Cybertron's High Guards, reforming them into the Decepticons, and declaring war on the young Prime as well as his allies, including Primus himself.

Biography[]

Backstory[]

Megatronus' past does not seem to be much different from the original version, where he was a member of the Thirteen Primes who was famous for his strength, might and prowess. Megatronus also has a romantic relationship with fellow Thirteen Primes member, Solus Prime. In the war against the Quintessons, Megatronus and the other Primes are informed by their chief advisor, Sentinel, about an important meeting of the Quintessons' commanders. Megatronus and the Primes arrive at the alleged meeting place, unaware that they have been led into a trap when Quintesson soldiers appear and begin shooting at them. Megatronus fought bravely and valiantly and almost emerged victorious. However, when the Primes' victory was almost within their hands, Sentinel appeared and instead helped the Quintessons by killing the Primes. Megatronus was forced into submission by an army of Quintessons before he was ultimately beheaded by Sentinel, who took Megatronus' T-Cog after his attempt to obtain the Matrix of Leadership failed. Sentinel's betrayal also killed most of the Primes, including Megatronus' girlfriend, Solus.

Resurrection[]

50 cycles later, after the death of the Thirteen Primes, Megatronus was resurrected by Primus to assist four miners, Orion Pax, D-16, Elita-1, and B-127, in their efforts to stop the tyranny of Sentinel. To help Megatronus, Primus then gave a weaker T-Cog to the newly-resurrected Prime after his previous T-Cog was stolen by Sentinel. After being resurrected, Megatronus shows confusion as he barely remembers anything. However, the confusion soon turned to shock after Megatronus saw the broken and offline body of his girlfriend, Solus. Megatronus immediately remembered what happened, Sentinel allied with the Quintessons to betrayed and killed them. Filled with anger and revenge, Sentinel vows to kill Sentinel as he takes his spear and walks out of the cave, only to find that Cybertron has become barren.

As Megatronus looks around the barren Cybertron, he finds the High Guards Outpost and approaches it, and is shocked to see that there has been a massacre. He concludes that Sentinel killed the High Guards, as there were no bodies of Quintesson soldiers at the scene. He then finds a chip which show a hologram of of Iacon City, which Megatronus deduces that Sentinel is there. Megatronus then transformed and went to Iacon.

Confronting and killing Sentinel[]

Upon arrival at Iacon, Megatronus finds Sentinel is about to be executed by the vengeful D-16. Megatronus then transforms and confronts D and Sentinel. Everyone at Iacon is shocked to see a living Megatronus as they thought he had gone offline 50 cycles ago. D approached Megatronus and asked how the Prime was still alive since they thought Sentinel had killed him. Megatronus replies that he doesn't really remember what happened before he turns his attention to the cogless miners. Megatronus asks D why some of those cybertronians don't have T-Cogs. D explains that after Sentinel killed the Primes, he took their T-Cogs and forced them to mine energons, only to give them to the Quintessons so he himself can become king.

Hearing this revelation, Megatronus' anger burned even further, as Sentinel not only killed the Thirteen Primes, but he also enslaved his own kind to satisfy their greatest enemy. In a fit of rage, Megatronus paralyzes Sentinel by crushing his leg before attempting to execute the false Prime with his Hand-Cannon. However, when he was about to execute Sentinel, he stopped and seemed to want to cancel his intention. As things fell silent, Megatronus opened his now blood-red eyes and declared that Sentinel deserved a worse death. Then, with full fury and vengeance, Megatronus pierced Sentinel's face with his spear before he lifted the false Prime above him and ripped his body in half, killing Sentinel instantly. Megatronus' first T-Cog falls from Sentinel's chest with D staring at the cog, planning to take it.

Falling into a darker path and first time fighting Optimus Prime[]

After killing Sentinel, Megatronus angrily stated that Sentinel's death was an example if anyone dared to oppose a Prime. Feeling that Sentinel's death would not be enough to satisfy his desire for revenge, Megatronus orders D and the surviving High Guards to destroy Iacon City which he claims has been poisoned by Sentinel's lies. D and the High Guards happily carry out Megatronus' orders as they begin shooting around Iacon and endangering the lives of innocent people. When Megatronus and his followers were still trying to destroy Iacon, Orion, who had previously fallen to his death after sacrificing himself to protect Sentinel, returned as a new Prime named Optimus Prime after Primus deemed him worthy of the Matrix of Leadership. Optimus expresses surprise at Megatronus being alive. Elita tells Optimus that Megatronus is no longer a Prime because he tried to destroy Iacon, calling Megatronus a "Fallen Prime". As Megatronus tries to justify his actions, he realizes that Optimus was given the Matrix of Leadership by Primus. Enraged that Optimus was given the Matrix even though he was not Prime by birth, Megatronus demanded that Optimus give him the Matrix, which the young Prime immediately refused. This made the fallen Prime even more furious, stating that Optimus chose to fight him and he will regret that choice. D offers to help Megatronus, but he refuses the offer because this is a battle between Primes.

Megatronus, full of anger and revenge, violently fought Optimus. Optimus tries to reason with Megatronus, saying that this is not what he wants. However, Megatronus refused to listen, saying that this was what he wanted. This gives Optimus no choice but to use his axe to attack and wound Megatronus' face, destroying his mask instantly.

Being banished from Iacon[]

After his mask was destroyed, revealing Megatronus' disfigured face and missing left eye, Megatronus said that all that just for a betrayal. However, Optimus denied the fallen Prime's statement, stating that Megatronus had betrayed himself and this would not have happened if Megatronus had not let his anger get the best of him. Not accepting Optimus' words, Megatronus ordered the High Guards to attack Optimus. However, Elita, B-127, and the rest of Iacon support Optimus, saying that Megatronus is no longer a Prime because he tried to destroy Iacon City. Optimus told the fallen Prime that Primus gave him a chance for the greater good, but instead he failed him, as a Prime. Optimus then banished Megatronus and the High Guards from Iacon for treason.

Enraged but unable to do anything, Megatronus stated that their conflict was not over to the young Prime. Before leaving Iacon, the fallen Prime told D to choose a side quickly. Megatronus then transformed and flew away leaving Iacon with the High Guards. Eventually, D chooses to join his idol instead of staying with his best friend, stating that they are no longer the brothers they once were, much to Optimus' dismay. Sentinel's death at the hands of Megatronus also made Darkwing leave Airachnid for Megatronus.

Becoming the Fallen[]

After their banishment, Megatronus and his followers hid somewhere on the surface. On the surface, Megatronus emblazoned a symbol based on his mask onto the bodies of the High Guards, reforming them into the "Decepticons", and appointing D-16 as his second in command while giving him a new name as "Megatron". Megatronus is seen giving a speech to the newly formed Decepticons, declaring war on Optimus, his allies, and even Primus himself. As the Decepticons shoot into space, Megatronus remembers the past when he and Solus spent time together with a smile, causing the fallen Prime to shed tears of sadness.

Personality[]

Initially, Megatronus was a heroic, brave, tough, powerful and charismatic figure. He is known by all Cybertronians as the strongest Prime to ever live thanks to his strength and might, seen when he fiercely and bravely fought the Quintessons army in the past. When Primus resurrected him to help the miners, Megatronus initially did not show any antagonistic traits and only showed confusion due to not remembering anything. However, after seeing the sparkless body of his girlfriend, Solus Prime, as well as remembering Sentinel's betrayal, Megatronus became a figure filled with hatred, revenge, and rage, as he vowed to kill Sentinel in revenge for killing him, his lover, and the other Primes. Even so, he was still able to control his anger because he was still calm and leved-headed when he saw the dire state of Cybertron.

However, this did not last long, as after Megatronus heard from D-16 that Sentinel enslaved Cybetronians to satisfy the Quintessons, Megatronus' anger immediately became more intense and exploded because Sentinel not only betrayed the Primes, but he also enslaved his own kind to serve their greatest enemies. Since then, Megatronus became a brutal, angry, cruel, selfish, sadistic, vengeful, and violent figure, as seen how he brutally killed Sentinel and furiously ordered the destruction of Iacon City which he said that it was poisoned by Sentinel's lies (although he did this probably not for the good of Cybertron, but to satisfy his thirst for revenge). When Orion returned as Optimus Prime after Primus deemed him worthy of having the Matrix, Megatronus became angry at the fact that Optimus got the Matrix even though he was not a Prime by birth, where he angrily demanded Optimus give him the Matrix and when Optimus refused, Prime fell into a rage at the rejection. In battle, Megatronus became more vicious, wild, and brutal due to his burning anger. He is also stubborn as he refuses to reason with Optimus during their fight and also refuses to admit defeat when Optimus scars his face. When Optimus banishes him from Iacon for treason, Megatronus angrily states that their conflict is not over, indicating that he will continue to fight Optimus simply out of spite that Optimus "betrayed" him.

Despite his transformation into a ruthless warlord, Megatronus still has some heroic qualities even after his descend to evil. Megatronus genuinely cares for his fellow Primes as his main motivation to kill Sentinel was to avenge them. Megatronus also deeply loves his girlfriend, Solus Prime, as her death is the reason the mighty Prime turned into a vengeful and wrathful person, and in his final moments as Megatronus and before his transformation into The Fallen, Megatronus remembers his time with Solus where they spent time smiling together, causing the fallen Prime to shed tears of sadness. Also, despite having just met him for the first time, Megatronus immediately cared for D-16, as seen when he told D not to interfere in his fight against Optimus, because besides the fact that it was a fight between Primes, Megatronus also did not want D to get hurt because he knew how powerful the person who possessed the Matrix was. Despite his hatred for Optimus and even vowing to kill him in revenge, Megatronus appears to respect him as a Prime, as he addresses the young Prime by the title of Prime and also states that Optimus is a "stronger enemy and a personal enemy", indicating that he sees Optimus as a worthy adversary.
