Metallix, formerly known as Metal Sonic, is the titular main antagonist of Metallix Saga of the 2015 reboot of flash animation series Super Mario Bros. Z.
He serves as a replacement for the series' original main antagonist, Turbo Mecha Sonic, though their role is basically the same given that both are transformed versions of Metal Sonic who seek to gain the Chaos Emeralds to become a god. He is a former pawn of Dr. Eggman, as well as the archenemy of Sonic.
His voice clips are provided by Andrew Chandler, whose voice clips were also used for Mecha Sonic and were originally and officially used for Cooler from Dragon Ball and Additional Voices are: Jean-Édouard Miclot, Ryan Drummond, and John Mondelli.
Personality
Much like his original counterpart, he is a evil A.I. who has a lust for murder and power. He is completely willing to do anything to achieve his goals of becoming a god, even resorting to murder when necessary, as he killed an innocent Goomba to collect the first Chaos Emerald and nearly killed Yoshi while trying to gain the second. While he no longer serves Eggman, he does still want to kill Sonic, mainly to prove that he is stronger than him because of his strong will, and that he is a god. It is also stated that being defeated by Sonic many times only increased his will to defeat him.
He also seems to be rather sadistic, given that he promised to brutally mutilate Yoshi to gain the Chaos Emerald, and that he would make him suffer an extremely painful death, as he would end up laughing about it.
Biography
Past
While his past hasn't been made out to be quite as clear as his original counterpart's, it does seem mostly similar. He was originally created as Metal Sonic by Eggman to kill Sonic, after several of his robotic copies of Sonic failed in doing so. While he was defeated several times by Sonic, the first being in a race, he showed strong will in continuing to try to defeat him, constantly becoming stronger. At somepoint, Metal Sonic merged with several of the other robotic copies of Sonic, becoming Metallix.
Not too much is known on what happened after that, but it is known he would betray Eggman and begin searching for the Chaos Emeralds in order to become a god, though it is also heavily implied that he may have had a deadly rampage on Mobius at some point.
Super Mario Bros. Z
Metallix Saga
At some point, Metallix arrived in the Mushroom Kingdom, in search of the Chaos Emeralds. Upon arriving, he would find a Goomba holding the Chaos Emerald. Metallix demands that the Goomba gives him the Chaos Emerald, but after he claims that he doesn't know what he is talking about, Metallix kills him and takes the Chaos Emerald for himself.
Upon locating the second Chaos Emerald, he attacks Luigi, Yoshi, Wario, and Waluigi by blasting rockets at them, separating the four. He follows Yoshi, who has possession of the Chaos Emerald, demanding him to give him the Chaos Emerald. Upon refusing, he attacks the green dinosaur, wanting the Chaos Emerald. After knocking him down, he tries to steal the emerald, only for Yoshi to take it back. This results in a fight between the two, with Metallix promising to remove the Chaos Emerald from Yoshi's corpse.
While Metallix was winning at first, Yoshi began absorbing energy from the Chaos Emerald, and for a while, he would beat Metallix. However, Metallix would soon gain back control over the fight, using energy from the Chaos Emerald he had previously collected. He attacks Yoshi and while he seems successful at first, Yoshi would then soon take advantage over Metallix beat him, blowing him up in a explosion. However, Metallix survived it, with no damage on him at all. He would attack Yoshi one last time and then gain the second emerald, only for him to then try to kill Yoshi.
Upon realizing that Yoshi survived his attack, though just barely, he attempts to kill him last time, attempting to strangle him to death. However, before he could succeed, he sees Sonic, Mario, Shadow, and Luigi quickly come toward him to rescue Yoshi. Promising to make them regret their decision to come after him, he quickly plans on killing them, only for him not to after he's reminded of his goal, though he does promise that he will handle them later. He then flies off.

Trivia
- Originally, Metallix was going to be the ultimate form of Turbo Mecha Sonic after he gained the seven Chaos Emeralds. In the reboot, this was changed, as now Metallix was just his normal form.
- The name Metallix originated from the UK's Sonic the Comic, being a alternate name of Metal Sonic.
- Given his dialogue after defeating Yoshi, as he states he would be willing to tear this world apart as well to find the Chaos Emeralds, and later stating that he thought he had left both Sonic and Shadow on "that dead planet", it likely implies that Metallix destroyed Mobius and killed almost everyone there, given that this was exactly what his original counterpart did.
- According to Haynes, Metallix is pronounced "Metallics" but with the "cs" replaced with an x.
- Haynes revealed that the "Prime" in "Metallix Prime", Metallix's final form, is a reference to Warframe.
