Mettaton is a major antagonist in Undertale the Musical and it's Genocide Package.
Like in the original game, he is a ghost possessing a robot created by Alphys, built to help Mettaton become a showman. When Frisk arrived to Hotland, Alphys had Mettaton antagonize Frisk, so she could "rescue" them from Mettaton when in reality, it was a ploy to be a part of Frisk's journey.
In Undertale the Musical, he serves as the main antagonist in Metal Crusher and its reprise, Mettaton Medley, Death by Glamour, and For the Fans, a minor character in Fallen Down Reprise 2 and Reunited, and a major character in Bring It in Guys.
In Undertale Genocide Package, he serves as the main antagonist in Power of Neo.
He is voiced by the channel's creator, Alex Beckham, who also voices Ridley, Marx and Dimentio, Omega, William Afton, Lavos, 0², Banban and Nabnab in the same channel.
Biography[]
Past[]
Like in the games, Alphys met Mettaton when he was a ghost. She made a robot body for him in order for him to achieve his dreams of being a star. Mettaton became a celebrity, but he left his cousin, Napstablook alone in his stardom.
Undertale the Musical[]
When Frisk arrives at Hotland, they encounter Alphys and she assures them she's on their side but mentions she "accidentally added features that made Mettaton a killing machine". Mettaton then breaks through the wall and makes Frisk do a quiz show where if they get too many questions wrong, they did. Mettaton noticed Alphys helping Frisk cheat and then left due to the show not having the dramatic tension with Alphys helping Frisk.
Mettaton antagonizes Frisk numerous times on their travels, such as interrupting their journey while doing a news report. When Frisk interacted with an item in the room, it turned into a bomb and then all the items in the room turned into a bomb. Alphys helped Frisk defused them, but Mettaton didn't stop there. In another room, Mettaton walks down from a tower in a dress and begins singing before dropping Frisk into a dungeon. Mettaton made them do the colored tile puzzle in under 30 seconds or else jets of fire will burn them, but Alphys "deactivated" the fire wall, "saving" Frisk. Making Mettaon retreat.
Frisk reached a room where Mettaton was in the CORE and Mettaton reveals to Frisk that Alphys staged all of this so she could be a part of Frisk's adventure, but Mettaton reveals his true intentions to steal Frisk's soul to go to the surface and become a star. Alphys calls Frisk and tells them to get him to turn around, and they do so, flipping the switch on his back. Mettaton then turns into Mettaton EX. He and Frisk engage in a fight and when the ratings get to 10,000, Mettaton begins taking calls from the fans and gets one from Napstablook. Mettaton didn't realize it was Napstablook until they began needlessly apologizing. Mettaton took more calls but then realized that leaving the underground wouldn't be worth it after all and he lets Frisk through.
Mettaton appears with the rest of Frisk's friends to stop the fight between Asgore and them. When Alphys arrived, Mettaton told her and Undyne to kiss before leaving. His soul was absorbed by Flowey later. After Flowey redeems himself and breaks the barrier, Mettaton leaves the underground with the rest of the monsters and fulfills his dream of being a star on the surface with Napstablook and Shyren.
Undertale Genocide Package[]
Mettaton meets Frisk after they kill all the monsters in Hotland. Mettaton turns into Mettaton NEO to finally defeat Frisk. They fight but, in the end, Frisk is able to defeat Mettaton. Mettaton tells them they still won't win in the end before he blows up into pieces.
