Midnight is one of the two secondary antagonists of Monsters Among Humanity. He is an intelligent veteran vampire Hunter, who wants to protect humanity from vampires, as he believes that they are dangerous and evil.

Personality
Midnight is a calm and collected individual. He always keeps his cool, even in terrible situations, remaining in a calm mindset so he can think of what to do. He is also a genuinely polite person, acting genuinely affable towards those he’s questioning. He genuinely has good intentions, as he wants to protect people from vampires, as due to his experiences, he thought that all vampires were evil. He is also religious, as he often tells people “may god be with you”.
Even though he is affable to people in general, he is ruthless against vampires and will try to to anything to get them, even if it means hurting the people he’s trying to protect. However, he has moral standards he won’t cross, and will point out his standards. For example, when he was disgusted at Derek’s intentions to blow up part of his village. But eventually, upon seeing Cassie defusing a bomb, he realises that not all vampires were bad, and redeems himself by helping fight against Derek. After the fight is over, he turns himself in and becomes a bounty hunter instead, wishing to atone for his past actions as a vampire hunter.
Villainous Acts
- He killed over 30 vampires over his career. While he thought he was doing the right thing, the vampires he killed were mostly, if not, all innocent.
- Some of these vampires were Cassie’s family, specifically her father, mother, older brother and younger sister (who was only 6 at the time). (MORAL EVENT HORIZON)
- He stalked Cassie and her friends around constantly on suspicion that she was a vampire.
- He impersonated a security guard at Charlotte Mythic’s concert, just to spy on Cassie.
- He caused Zephixa’s publisher to get into a car accident, causing the publisher to fall into a coma, just to avoid her getting popularity, as that would’ve made spying on Cassie harder.
- When Cassie was exposed as a vampire, he immediately tried to kill her.
- He chased Joshua’s van around in a car chase because Cassie was in it, speeding and breaking several traffic violations, and he even got other drivers to chase after him, which could’ve caused car accidents.
- After the chase failed, he went on the news and told everyone that Cassie was dangerous, and put a bounty on her head so that the villagers in Zephixa’s village would turn on Cassie and kill her.
- At first, he was willing to work with Derek and Heather to kill their targets, and even admitted that he might have to kill Zephixa, as she was defending Cassie.
- He tried to kill Cassie again in the climax, even though both were fighting the same person.
