~ Mikado after executing Rei Mekaru. |
Mikado Sannoji is the main antagonist of the Korean Danganronpa fangame Super Danganronpa Another 2. He is the Mastermind who controls the Neo World Program.
He's responsible for creating the Killing Game in the virtual world, having kidnapped several people considered “Symbols of Hope” and ordered the Voids to murder them, while also executing them afterwards.
His goal was to replicate the Killing Game experienced by the class of 79 in order to resurrect Utsuro and steal his powers.
Personality[]
From the start, Mikado was extremely strategic and calculating, he planned everything about how he would create the Killing Game and how it was supposed to go, while also thinking of several possibilities to make sure his victory was guaranteed. Because of this, he always acted overconfident, always taunting his enemies about how there's nothing they can do due to believing his plan is perfect and cannot fail.
He was completely obsessed with Utsuro and was willing to do anything in order to resurrect him. While he seemed to admire Utsuro, he, in reality, only wanted him alive again in order to steal his Divine Luck. Since his plan involved resurrecting Utsuro by making Yuki Maeda relive his experience, he tried to make his Killing Game as similar as possible to the Killing Game made by Utsuro, and even showed anger at Iroha for not making one of the events similar.
When he's not doing anything evil, he tries his best to be entertaining, always showcasing his magic, shouting references and making fun of his enemies, even if nobody likes him around. He also constantly tried to form a friendship with the participants despite them knowing he is the mastermind and he always pretended to be sad whenever they insulted him.
Despite being calm and entertaining most of the time, Mikado would sometimes be very threatening and angry, especially towards the Voids when they disrespect his rules. Despite being their leader, he was abusive towards the Voids, always killing them when they're no longer useful and forcing them to commit crimes. He truly only saw them as tools for his plan.
Villainous Actions[]
- Hired Syobai to kill his creator, the real human Mikado, to take his role.
- He also had Syobai kidnap several people who were considered "Symbols of Hope" and trap them in the Virtual World.
- He had Kokoro destroy Yuki Maeda's body while still keeping his mind alive inside the virtual world. He later showed it to Yuki in order to convince him to stay in the virtual world.
- Using the participants and the Voids, he created a Killing Game where the participants are forced to stay on the virtual world forever and can only escape by committing murder. If someone murdered and got away with it, they would escape and all other participants would be executed, but if the murderer was found out, only they would be executed.
- People killed in the virtual world would also die in real life.
- During the Killing Game, he ordered the Voids to kill the participants, lying that they would get away with it even if they were found out, but in reality, Mikado had Monocrow execute a Void every time they killed someone.
- Transformed Yuri, a A.I designated to help people, into Monocrow, a robot that executes culprits and people who violate the rules in brutal ways.
- Showed no remorse for indirectly causing the deaths of Setsuka, Hibiki and Kanade, and although Kanade deserves it, he was unfazed and even praised her for her actions.
- A few days after Nikei betrayed Void, Mikado added a new rule saying you cannot betray Void, forcing Monocrow to execute Nikei for breaking the rules.
- He sadistically revealed to Teruya that there was a firewall installed on him and that, as along as the latter was alive, it would be impossible for the Kisaragi Foundation to hack into the Virtual World. This made Teruya commit suicide in a heroic sacrifice to allow the Kisaragi Foundation to defeat Mikado.
- In chapter 5, he tried to execute all participants except for himself, and only failed because the virtual world glitched during their executions.
- Hacked the Kisaragi Foundation's facility and locked all doors, imprisoning all executives. Afterwards he told them that he would only unlock the doors if they entered the virtual world again.
- After the participants went back into the virtual world, he tried to trap all of them into a utopia, where they would think they were living a normal life but were actually still stuck in the Neo World Program.
- After resurrecting Utsuro, he immediately tried to kill him to steal his Divine Luck, and was most likely gonna use it for evil.
- Planned to steal Akane Taira's body in order to escape into the real world.

Trivia[]
- Mikado is one of the few masterminds to be revealed in the Prologue, as most Masterminds, even fanfiction ones, only have their identities revealed near the end of the story.
- Mikado made a few references throughout the game:
- When Syobai insulted Monocrow, Mikado said "Syobai used direct verbal abuse, it's super effective!" referencing the Pokémon battle system.
- In chapter 6, Mikado said "I, Mikado, have a dream" referencing Giorno's quote in Jojo.
- In the same chapter, Mikado also shouted "INFINITY UNLIMITED FLAME" referencing Gundham Tanaka's rebuttal showdown quote.
- Two of his islands reference the first Danganronpa Another game: Satsuki Land, a park with plenty of robotic clowns, is named after Satsuki Iranami, the Ultimate Clown. Higa City, the fifth island, is named after Mitsuhiro Higa. It even includes golden statues of him.
