Miles "Tails" Prower, better known by his alias Crazy Tails and Secret Histories Tails (SH Tails for short) is the main antagonist of the British YouTube channel Mashed.
He's a psychotic, obsessive, and mentally unstable version of the original character of Tails, who is introduced as Sonic the Hedgehog's partner and best friend by Mr. Sega, despite much to Sonic's chagrin, since he didn't need a sidekick. Because Mr. Sega told Sonic that it was just for publicity, he could just ignore him as if he wasn't even there, Tails went on a rampage against any new possible partner that Sonic tried to make a team with by killing anyone who tried to get close to Sonic out of utter envy. (Like Knuckles the Echidna, who, after he and Sonic finally put their differences aside, they both stopped Eggman together and their teamwork was better than ever, and Shadow the Hedgehog, who was a rival to Sonic, but also a brother to him.) Eventually, without knowing that Amy decided to use herself as bait after her suspicions that the horrific accidents that caused the deaths of Knuckles and Shadow were caused by him, he would be tracked down by her alongside Sonic, being caught in the act of manipulating Amy's hammer to make it explode and kill her in the act like he did with Knuckles' phone and Shadow's Air Shoes. He would be confronted by them with Sonic yelling at him that they never were and never will be friends while calling him out for his sick behavior, instead of understanding that what he did was wrong and was the reason Sonic didn't want anything to do with him, he quick came to the following conclusion that the "Real Sonic" is the one who's only friends with him and there can only be one "True Sonic" while all the other "Fake" Sonics like the Sonic from his universe that he used to deeming him his best friend are "Frauds, Fakes, and Liars" who deserve death, telling the following line "If Tails is Sonic's best friend, and I'm NOT your best friend! THEN YOU AREN'T SONIC!" before throwing Amy's tampered hammer at the two hedgehogs and went into hiding. After the previous situation and apparently being the last time anyone saw him, he'd been torturing various people with torture devices while dressing them up as Sonic poorly painted.
At some unknown point, he'd met the Other Sonic, who not only would he finally be appreciated and be his best friend, seeing and deeming him to be "The Real Sonic", but also the two of them would become allies. He'd assist the Other Sonic in his desire/goal to create his perfect family by taking and corrupting various versions of his friends across the multiverse and destroy all the "fake" Sonics that exist in the multiverse, starting with Amy, leading to the events of "There's Something About Amy".
He is voiced by Mick Lauer (better known online as RicePirate), who also voiced Raiden, Dr. Wily, and Dr. Thomas Light in the same series, and by Eileen Montgomery (also better known online as EileMonty) in his "normal" form in There's Something About Amy, who also voiced Amy in the same series, Toad in YOSHZILLA!, and Toad in Dial L For Luigi.
Appearance[]
Tails is a lanky orange fox. His fur is messier than the original Tails', his teeth are in terrible shape, and his pupils are very small. He is much more grotesque and bouncier than his original counterpart, and his expressions can change in a cartoonish manner. He becomes morbidly obese at the end of his debut video. His fur has turned brownish, and his teeth have turned golden yellow. He has stitches on his brow and a weapon made of a blow dryer, and lots of other things.
Personality[]
In contrast to his personality in the original Sonic franchise, the Tails of the Mashed universe is an unhinged, chaotic, psychopathic sadist, who’s completely fixated on the idea that he’s Sonic’s only friend, and will murder anyone in the most brutal way possible if they try to be friends with Sonic. He claims to be doing this because Sonic's other friends are "impostors" - Tails claims to be Sonic's best friend. He is most likely a yandere due to his Sonic obsession, to the point where he identifies himself as Sonic's “best friend” to the point he may be in love with him and want him all to himself.
He is also shown to be manipulative, using Amy and Sonic to make the former insane and kill the latter during a breakdown, knowing Amy's obsession with Sonic is similar to his.
Despite all of this, all Tails wanted deep inside the whole entire time was to win Sonic's affection and appreciation, which this incarnation of Sonic is able to offer him, as he doesn't find him to be a nuisance.

Secret History of Sonic & Tails[]
When Sega noticed that Sonic The Hedgehog's popularity was diminishing, they decided to give Sonic a sidekick. Tails, according to Amy, was always "hovering around." It appeared innocent at first, but when Amy discovered that murders/accidents were occurring, she suspected Tails was the culprit. Later, Sonic and Amy track down Tails and discover that he is the author of the murders. Tails claimed that he committed these crimes because Knuckles and Shadow were Sonic's fake friends, or "IMPOSTORS," as he refers to them. He continues, claiming to be Sonic's best friend. Sonic, disgusted and infuriated by this, yells at the deranged fox, saying that they are and never will be friends while calling him out for his sick behavior. Tails, instead of understanding that what he did was wrong and was the reason Sonic didn't want anything to do with him, comes to the following conclusion: "If Tails is Sonic's best friend... and I'm NOT YOUR BEST FRIEND... THEN YOU AREN'T SONIC!!" Amy's tampered hammer is then used to attack the two hedgehogs, with Tails going into hiding shortly after.
It's stated that the previous situation was the last time anyone saw Tails. It's then shown that Tails, now morbidly obese, kidnaps people, makes them look like Sonic, and then murders them, as shown with Gex, Cheese, Big the Cat, Pikachu, Yoshi, Mighty the Armadillo, and a random man.
There’s Something About Amy (Chapter 1)[]
Before the events of "There’s Something About Amy" At some unknown point Tails would meet another Sonic from another universe who had lost his friends including his Tails, becoming depressed. Tails will became paranoid, assuming that his best buddy would reject him again like the Sonic from his universe did. However, he shows sympathy to Tails and returns his affection and becomes his best friend, deciding to work with him to create a perfect universe along with his friends he had lost.
There's Something About Amy (Part 1 - Part 3)[]
Tails would enter another universe, kill that version of himself, and replace him. He would later manipulate both Sonic and Amy by exploiting their love for each other as well as their insecurities in order to achieve his goal of turning Amy insane like him. After Amy begged him to help her be with Sonic, Tails experiments on her and convinces her to go to Sonic's house by telling her that Sonic will love her after the changes Tails has made to her body. Sonic, on the other hand, is repulsed by her appearance and insanity and wants nothing to do with her. Amy has a nervous breakdown after realizing that everything she did and went through was for naught, and she beats Sonic to a bloody pulp with her hammer.
Amy goes to Tails for assistance after realizing what she has done, only for the latter to pull out two shovels and bring Sonic's corpse into the forest to be disposed of. He then sadistically reveals his true nature to Amy, telling her how he used her and Sonic's emotions against each other and how he killed his counterpart from this dimension. Amy, furious, tries to strangle him to death, but Tails tells her that they can find the real Sonic. This drives Amy insane once more, and she accepts his offer. The two are last seen passing through a portal built by Tails.

- The official Sonic the Hedgehog YouTube channel responded to Tails' introduction video, praising the animation and concept, while also commenting how disturbing and terrifying it was. However, the response was later deleted.
- Tails' abilities of brainwashing and shapeshifting might imply he isn't a true fox, or even a natural organism.
- Mick Lauer, Tails' Voice Actor, neither confirms nor denies the theory, though he does comment that it's not too far off. [1]
- He was morbidly obese In "Secret History of Sonic & Tails". However, in "There's Something About Amy", he returned skinny. This was implied that Tails goes on an exercise before the series.
- In "There's Something About Amy (Part 1)" a blueprint of various portal devices can be seen in Tails’ lab, including a clear reference to Rick’s portal gun from Rick and Morty, strongly suggesting that the real Tails from Amy’s universe (TTSA Tails) had been working on interdimensional travel technology. This implies TTSA Tails was likely close to discovering the multiverse on his own before his death, and the explosion that severely burned him prior to being decapitated by Secret History Tails may not have been a simple chemical accident, but rather the result of an unstable prototype for a portal device. If true, Secret History Tails inadvertently eliminated the only variant of Tails with the knowledge and means to create multiverse travel.
- Tails might be faking his insanity, evidenced by his relatively collected demeanor around Amy, and outside of his own dimension compared to his behavior around Secret History!Sonic. Another piece of evidence is the differences between his personality in Secret Histories and There's Something About Amy. In Secret Histories, he is constantly screaming and spouting unhinged rants. In There's Something About Amy, he seems considerably more calm and shows more intelligence, gaslighting Amy and only utilizing his supernatural abilities when alone with her and there are no other witnesses.
- However, near the end of "There's Something About Amy (Part 5)", he has a psychotic outburst, bashing the TV monitors showing different universes with a wrench while calling the Sonics in them imposters. It's also implied it's not something he does infrequently.
- It was once speculated that Tails may have also been the version of Tails from "There's Something About Knuckles", given the entire fact that when he suggests killing the Kaiju to Knuckles after revealing Sonic had become a part of it, he seemed to be grinning, not to mention he previously tells him "What are friends for?"
- However, this was all disproven in the final part of the chapter, as the Tails in that universe would be killed by Knuckles possessed by the Kaiju. It would also be revealed that Amy was the voice inside Knuckles’ head, and not Tails like most people thought.
- Secret History Tails can act similarly to Naraku from InuYasha, where he created a love triangle and used both Inuyasha and Kikyo's emotions against one another, causing them to hate each other until Kikyo is reincarnated into Kagome. And discovered the truth, that he was responsible for her death as a result of his wish being denied, saying that he wanted to be with her but that due to his actions, he couldn't be with her in the next lifetime or the one after that.
- Secret History Tails can also even be considered to be like Comics Black Noir from The Boys (Comic Series). They are both obsessed with their goals, have a creepy smile, and they manipulate people. Additionally, Sonic from Tails' universe (Secret Story Sonic) showing no sympathy towards him in "Secret History of Sonic & Tails" is also likely a reference to Homelander being disgusted by Black Noir's Actions.
- Despite his similarities comparisons with Naraku and Comics Black Noir, Secret History Tails in "There's Something About Amy" also acts very much like The Batman Who Laughs (Where an Alternate version of the Joker originating from the Dark Multiverse (Earth -22) succeeded in provoking Batman from said universe to break his No-Kill Rule by killing him, snapping his neck. Upon the Joker's death, a nano-toxin of the Joker Venom began to exit from the villain's mouth, which Batman accidentally breathed in, which essentially turned him into the perfect mix between Batman's intelligence and Joker's insanity and ruthlessness, indirectly leading to the creation of one of the most dangerous threats to the entire DC Multiverse). The similarities between Secret History Tails and The Batman Who Laughs are that they are twisted and mentally unstable versions of intellectual heroes (Tails and Batman/Bruce Wayne) as bastardized nightmares with permanent horrific grins carved into their faces. Despite their insanity, they still retain their high Intelligence, which makes them HUGE threats in the grand scheme of things. These Sadistic Sociopaths also travel across the Multiverse, and both of them are the ringleaders of a group of alternate versions that ended up gone horribly wrong, traveling across those universes to recruit them (Alternate versions of Batman from the Dark Multiverse (The Dark Knights) and alternate versions of Sonic's friends like Amy, Knuckles and Big The Cat, though also corrupting them in Tails' case). Also Secret Histories Tails' goal is assist The Other Sonic that he deems to be "The Real Sonic" in his goal/cause to create his perfect family by taking and corrupting various versions of his friends and destroy all the "fake" Sonics that exist in the Multiverse, which could be the equivalent of Barbatos, the higher power that The Batman Who Laughs works with and he also assists Barbatos in his cause to plunge the entire Multiverse into darkness.
- Likewise, this comparison of Secret History Tails with The Batman Who Laughs could be accurate since in an interview on the "Rogue Pixels" podcast (That can be found on Acast and Spotify), the creators of Mashed Ben Michael and Jason Alan Dewey discussed how this character influenced the portrayal of Tails in the "There's Something About Amy" series. They aimed to bring back "Secret Histories Tails", crafting a narrative where Tails manipulates and corrupts Amy Rose, leading to a darker storyline reminiscent of DC Comics' Dark Multiverse. Not to mention that in the description of the same podcast, some of it also mentions "Listen now to learn about the original pitch to bring back Secret History Tails and how The Batman Who Laughs influenced the story of Amy Rose and her fox friend." - Secret History Tails was planned to be featured in the mod "Vs. Sonic.Exe's 3.0 update" for Friday Night Funkin' (and was one of the first opponents teased for said mod), but due to the mod's cancellation he was never in a finished state, with only an idle and one song being complete.
- However, he does appear in the mod named "Friday Night Funkin': Secret Histories", serving as the opponent of the mod's demo. With clean voicelines from the original video were provided for use in the songs.
- Even Mashed has officially acknowledged Friday Night Funkin': Secret Histories, saying "Truly fantastic work. Who would of thought that Secret History would have found so many new best friends almost 6 years to the day Sonic & Tails was released" on CommunityGame's showcase of the mod.
- In the Secret Histories series, Tails originally had five fingers, but in the There’s Something About series, he now has four—most likely due to a change in art style.
