Minoru Mineta, also known as Grape Juice and The Ball Man, is a recurring antagonist and Joe's archenemy during Part 14 of Joe's Cosmic Saga.
He is a perverted student with a public reputation as a omni sex offender. He tries hitting on everyone, cheating on everyone for his perverse pleasures, spying on everyone naked in the gym locker rooms as a secret hobby of his, and tries sexually harassing anyone he encounters, which results in Minoru being rather useless, a laughing stock and regularly being the butt of Joebotnik's jokes and pranks.
Biography[]
First encounter[]
Minoru Mineta is first introduced on Joebotnik's fourth day of being in the town of Musutafu Japan (just after Joebotnik had dealt with escaping from Mount Lady herself), he is seen spying Joe changing his clothes in the gym room through a hole in the wall like a creep; right after Joe played some basketball by himself that Sunday morning, once Joe hears Minoru acting pervy and snickering to himself, Joe surprises him by peaking in the same hole Minoru looked through while acting oddly friendly and skeptical in a humorous manner, making Minoru intimidated and startled to the point of trying to lie about not watching Joe. This makes Joe zip out of Minoru's watch, making him ask where Joe went.
Joe then walks next to Minoru while disguising himself as Hanta Sero to question Minoru's behavior with looking in a hole by himself, making Minoru startled and caught red-handed, he didn't want anyone to know of this, this made Hanta in disguise want to gossip it and he walked outside near a microphone left outside with a jukebox turned on while Minoru tripped over, which Hanta in disguise used to confirm Minoru's perversion once Minoru clumsily admitted his perverted behavior in public to the whole academy upon walking out of the gym room, which made everyone in the academy laugh.
Joe then revealed himself to be Hanta in disguise and Minoru chased Joe for startling him and Joe did tons of parkour to get Minoru to chase Joe to a building, once Minoru catches up to Joe, Joebotnik then gets uppity & smug with Minoru's pathological lies to Joe's questions and Joe kinda intimidates Minoru for what happens when people sexually harass Joe, Minoru told Joe to not do anything crazy and that made Joe acts erratic on that statement; Joe willingly summons a hand glider, a wingsuit and a baby carrier chest strap for Joe to put Minoru into the strap to make him go on a sky-gliding trip with Joe before deploying Minoru into a bouncy house as a retribution act for being a creep who was peeping on Joe.
When Joe goes to a hammock and chillaxes, Minoru stalks Joe and argues with Joe on how it wasn't a fun experience that Joe got him into and felt like he was gonna pass out, he asks Joe if it was funny to him. Fortunately, Joebotnik does tell Minoru the lesson once Minoru followed Joe to a spot in the park, the lesson being "be careful who you meet", gives Minoru a emergency bag for Minoru to feel better, Joe clarified how he wouldn't put others in danger and Joe claims to learn a lesson from the prank also, Minoru calls Joe a "weird person" (which Joe takes as a compliment before giving him a breathing bag for him to cool down) and Minoru asks Joe how is he so calm about what Joe did as a prank. When they seemed to have become friends, he went to his locker room and Joebotnik reveals to be faking the friendship side to summon a aggressive organic clone of Tsuyu to aggressive flirt and make out to Minoru, much to Minoru's overwhelming distress (not knowing that Joebotnik pranked him and still got him a lover to be with).
Second encounter[]
Once Joe is seen walking at a beach during his twelfth day being in Musutafu Japan, Minoru is seen stalking Joebotnik and he asks Minoru what happened to his bonding with Tsuyu Asui, he claims that he is taking advantage of her for being a girl and being his property.
Joe then asks him what happens if she found out about this, he glances over this consequence and looks at Joe's legs, which made Joe ask him what happens when he is caught, he actively disregards this for no reason.
Joebotnik then asks him if he knew that Tsuyu was behind him, acting like he didn't believe him, he still looks behind him and Joe quickly disguises himself into Tsuyu and immediately acts love-dovey and romantic towards him while hugging Minoru, making Minoru want to break free and run from her, even pleading her to let him go. When Tsuyu (while Joe is in disguise) teases him, Minoru tries telling him how he "loves" her but didn't feel right and runs away once Tsuyu (while Joe is in disguise) lets her go, Joebotnik is then shown to be reveling in teasing and messing with Minoru for committing adultery and misogyny at the same time (making Joebotnik say to himself that he likes how "silly" Minoru is). When Minoru is seen running away frantically, Joebotnik teleports to the side of a wall, puts the disguise back on and summon his frying pan to hold out, which gets Minoru slamming his face into the frying pan and fall onto the ground in the manner of a clumsy buffoon.
While Minoru was dizzy and looking vulnerable from his pratfall, Tsuyu (while Joe is in disguise) puts her arms around Minoru and asks him why did he run away from her and why did he dump her, Minoru then reveals to wanting nothing to do with her and doesn't love her at all (meaning Joebotnik prevented the real Tsuyu Asui, or her organic clone, from getting heartbroken). Minoru thinks she is a weirdo and tries running away again while Tsuyu (while Joe is in disguise) looked rejected and left in the dust, this made Joebotnik take off the disguise said how it was so worth it and will have another prank for Minoru if he continues stalking Joe, meaning Joebotnik will come prepared with more pranks if Minoru continues being shameless with his lewd behavior.
Once Minoru finds out that Joebotnik used a Tsuyu disguise to prank Minoru for his perverted and uncaring behavior, he looks surprised that it wasn't Tsuyu that messed with him when Joe walks away while putting the disguise away and Minoru begins chasing him to catch him and wanting to attack him, which made Joe prank Minoru again with a banana peel pratfall trick, a sliding feet prank (making Minoru slip around and lose control of his speed while running and making him do a full spin on a loop track to fly in the air and land on a brick wall set on the floor), a trumpet in phone prank, getting him running into a giant cymbal, a splashing ketchup grenade prank, a sand bag prank he throws at Minoru, getting Minoru to jump into a pile of hay with a hidden anvil in it (making Minoru fall over from such impact), and a glue splashing prank with throwing two stick balls hanging onto Minoru's chest.
After he stopped pranking Minoru and pulling him out of the glue situation, Joe wanted to know why he chased Joe and was gonna do, he was wanting Joe to be scared of his Quirk, Joebotnik finding out that Minoru was wanting Joe to be scared of someone as short and unintimidating as him, made Joe pretend to be fearful while Minoru monologues his assertion, this made Joe toy with this and while looking remorseful, Joe used a golf club to swing Minoru onto a sticky cobweb-looking net that is placed on a tree, and dropping a bag of candy on Minoru, all of this made Minoru utterly clueless on why he wanted to catch Joe, making Joe want to question him and tease him a bit.
When Minoru says how he wants to show Joe what he can do with balls while trying to sound intimidating, Joe then summons a dodgeball and makes a joke about dodging dodgeballs, throwing one at Minor made him fall back onto the glue just got him out of, all while Joe insists him to show him the "true power" Minoru claims to have. This made Minoru try to act threatening with claiming to use his ball quirk to kill Joe and proclaiming himself as The Ball Man, which makes Joe pull out a chair, put on aviator glasses and eat popcorn while Minoru acts dramatic; which makes him be seen as a vengeful goofball instead of a threat when he is seen exclaiming his homicidal intentions instead of showcasing any vicious or brutal behavior to make him look like a dangerous force of nature, which makes Joe tease him more for even trying to act threatening.
After Minoru keeps trying to pose a threat with hurting Joe with his ball Quirk, Joebotnik throws a pile of meatballs on his face while calling him the "Meat Ball Man" (much to Minoru's annoyance), then Joe throws a couple of yarn balls to make a joke about him trying to get pussycats (making Minoru say he doesn't want any pussy), and Joe even tosses a container of two steel balls to fall onto Minoru's head, one at a time, making Minoru have difficulty getting it off of his hair.
While Minoru has trouble getting the metallic balls out of his hair, Joe makes a joke about how magnetic he is with balls and literally pulls out a big magnet to pull Minoru out of the glue Minoru was standing on, he is left stuck on the magnet and able to walk, Joe steps back and makes a joke of how much of a "ball magnet" Minoru is, he tells Joe that he's not a ball magnet and Joe tells him to prove it, which makes Minoru try pulling his hair off the steel balls in annoyance and he makes himself and the magnet plummet onto the ground, making the giant magnet fall onto Minoru out of pure clumsiness.
He expresses frustration with getting his hair off the steel balls, and Joe gets some pliers to cut a inch of his hair off the steel balls, making Minoru stumble backwards and utterly angry for anyone cutting his own hair. This makes Joe acknowledge he's not in a predicament now and see how his hair wasn't affected, this makes Minoru enraged at how slightly shorter his hair is now, and Minoru asks who has cut his hair, Joe then points at Minoru as the one who did it, making him ask who really caused it since Minoru looked ready to punch anyone, Joe then points at his ball hairstyle who did it, making Minoru act gullible and goes to the extent of fighting his own hair (making Joebotnik amused at Minoru's idiocy and ignorance).
Personality[]
He is Joebotnik's arch-nemesis during Part 14 of the saga and Joe's most recurring enemy. He is a timid and nervous but dimwitted pervert who spies on anyone changing clothes for kicks and wishes to sexually harass Joebotnik by stalking him and wanting Joe to be afraid of Minoru himself instead of being favored by women as he desires to do in general, but the intelligent Joebotnik always outsmarts him and wins. It's worth noting when Joebotnik does get Minoru to being in a relationship with women by opportunity, Minoru goes along with it and then willingly ditch any of them as if they're just property and still wants to be a thrill-seeking pervert who enjoys groping or stalking anyone, just to revel in acting like a horndog by nature, showcasing his lecherous desires over genuine relationships.
Despite being a hedonistic antagonist who sees himself as a casanova, Minoru is not that much of a wicked scoundrel since he is more insecure, selfish and arrogant as opposed to outright evil. His impulsive and dishonest actions often leads to Joebotnik pranking him playfully with vast resources like disguises, decoys, a series of random slapstick gags or sometimes short musical numbers designed to deceive and humiliate Minoru into misdirection, all done in cartoonish and surreal ways that offsets the realistic environment of Musutafu Japan, this infuriates Minoru so much he'd seek revenge and attempt killing Joe for the outlandish tricks Joe has inflicted on him (even more so than the subtle tricks that Mount Lady has received from Joe while she wrestled him and grinded on him).
Every time Minoru is humiliated by Joe's countless pranks, he always keeps coming back to chase and stalk Joebotnik some more whenever he sees Joe minding his own business, making him a obsessed rival to Joe who repeatedly fails at being a threat to Joe. Despite every single prank Joe has inflicted on him, Minoru does not learn from his mistakes, even when Joebotnik first taught him the lesson of being careful of who he meets when they first met in a gym locker room (despite acting like he learned from his mistakes in his first appearance and befriending Joebotnik for it). Making Minoru out to be a clueless sociopath and a Provoker of some sort.
He is also quite paranoid, being very high in the sky and being around infatuated women, makes him act really apprehensive, overwhelmed and ready to run away from them or other lovers as well, making him a complete coward in general.
He has shown to be quite wrathful once he feels offended, where every prank Joe has inflicted on him, has made Minoru act more angry and short-tempered over being fooled in the first place (all while chasing Joe without thinking straight), making Joebotnik poke fun at his idiotic shortcomings and Joe uses Minoru's recklessness to his advantage. To the point that it's a apparent weakness of his, where Joe still manipulates Minoru into deception and tricks Minor into humiliating himself out of confusion despite Minoru being angry over trivial things like looking dumb from Joe's tricks or someone cutting his own hair (even if it was seamless).
He is also quite tragic in a comedic way since Minoru become more of a scapegoat in his second encounter, where his stupidity and immaturity leads him to constant misfortune, and he is always the recieving end of Joebotnik's shenanigans. Despite this, he appears to be affable and can behave rather kindly many times despite being a antagonistic stalker who slowly begins to show obsessive determination in catching Joe and scaring him as if Joe would be weak enough to fear someone as ineffectual and silly like him in his second encounter. When Joe tried pretending to look vulnerable and cowardly, Minoru only uses big words to act tough instead of showing enough wrath through his actions, meaning Minoru doesn't really know how to hurt Joe physically or be a real threat to him despite chasing him and wanting to catch him and discipline him for petty reasons (which makes Joe deceive and one-up him some more, even when Joe hid a fake regretful look on his face once Minoru caught up to Joe in his second encounter).
Because of this, all of his attempts at perving everyone and scaring Joe falls flat on his face, which is a trait that is treated as "comic relief". This means he is often depicted as a laughable villain for all of his incompetence and clumsiness. Where Minoru's idiocy, notable short-sightedness and ridiculous acts of sheer gullibility, always leads to Minoru being put into pathetic and unfortunate situations treated as karma for his mindless and amoral actions, which is always played up for laughs. This has been taken to the point that he and Joebotnik begin to have a "Bugs Bunny vs Elmer Fudd" type of rivalry since Joebotnik always humiliates Minoru with countless pranks and mind games while Minoru seems insistent to catch and attack Joe for no good reason, making Minoru out to be the most buffoonish antagonist Joebotnik has ever faced in the entire saga.
This overall makes Minoru out to be an excessively pitiful punching bag, a total buffoon, and a bumbling imbecile who is put in such predicaments that it's (almost) easy to pity him despite Minoru deserving the pranks that are coming his way.
Power and Abilities[]
- Durability/Immortality: Despite Minoru being prone to mishaps and misfortune, he is very malleable and durable. He survives every one of Joebotnik's pranks, even if it was as brutal as falling from high heights, making him as strong as a Looney Tunes character.

Trivia[]
- He is the only archenemy of Joebotnik during Part 14 of the saga, to be treated as a recurring "comic relief" antagonist. Where most of Joe's antagonists during this part of the saga like Mitsuki, Rody Soul and Mount Lady (who all did worser crimes than Minoru ever did by the way), were all either one-note villains or they had short-lived encounters with antagonizing Joe.
- Minoru also stands out in terms of comedic villains during this part of the saga. Where Mount Lady (while a comedic pervert) was a sadomasochistic wrestler who kept getting karma by Joe using mind games on her to hamper her seductive efforts and prevent her from causing any real havoc (defeating her by getting her stuck in a relationship with someone else), but with Minoru, Joebotnik uses more pranks and quick slapstick jokes at Minoru's expense since Minoru can't handle relationships and always comes back to stalk Joe, making Minoru more of a sillier and bumbling "Elmer Fudd" type of villain who doesn't know when to quit (which makes Joebotnik act like Bugs Bunny in these scenarios).
- He and Mount Lady are treated as "comedic villain" parodies of their anti-heroic counterparts in the My Hero Academia canon.
