~ Yuki thinking about Mitch on his second free time event |
Mitsuhiro Higa, also known as Mitch, is a supporting antagonist in the korean Danganronpa fangame Danganronpa Another. He's the Ultimate Soccer Player.
He is the first culprit in the Killing Game, where he tries to kill Tsurugi but fails and kills Kiyoka instead. Despite having a small role, Mitch is among the most hated characters in the Another games due to his personality and actions.
Personality[]
Mitch is an eccentric, arrogant and immature douchebag. Because of his popularity, he is cocky, always sees himself as more important than others, and never thinks properly about his actions and behavior. He is wrathful and aggressive in several instances.
Mitch is also very perverted and doesn't understand how women are like, believing they should all be lustful for him, and being confused about why Akane rejected his advances. He also had plans of hooking up with his fans, specifically the "prettiest ones".
As the Ultimate Soccer Player, he was very obsessed with the sport, believing it is the best hobby and all other sports are garbage. He claims that Soccer being in danger was his reason for committing murder, though Rei debunked that claim.
However, he did seem to have a good side before the Killing Game, as he threw himself in front of a monokuma robot and injured himself to protect Kiyoka. Of course, he does the opposite in the Killing Game, killing her in order to escape and endangering the lives of all his classmates, making him very unsympathetic by that point.
Biography[]
Background[]
Mitsuhiro was invited to enroll in Hope's Peak Academy thanks to his skills as a professional soccer player. During the Tragedy, he and 14 other students were rescued by Yamato and brought to a truck, which was on its way to the Kisaragi facility.
The truck was almost attacked by Monokuma robots, but most of them were taken down by either Yamato or Kiyoka, using a gun. One of the Monokumas almost reached them, but was destroyed by Mitch. Eventually, the truck reached the Kisaragi facility and all the students stayed there.
However, the facility was attacked by Utsuro, Akane Taira and their army of Monokuma robots. Kiyoka managed to take down most of them with her gun, and Mitch also helped by saving Kiyoka from an attack. However, it wasn't enough to save everyone and eventually all students were knocked out and had their memories erased. After the Kisaragi Foundation was remodeled to look like Hope’s Peak, all students (with the exception of Yamato) were put on the 1st floor, with their memories modified to make it look like they had just joined Hope’s Peak.
Prologue[]
All students, including the mastermind, woke up inside the Kisaragi Facility, thinking they had just entered Hope’s Peak academy. They decided to introduce themselves to everyone while waiting for the entrance ceremony.
After introductions were over, they were told by a mysterious voice to gather in the gym. There, Monokuma appeared and explained their situation: He claimed they were gonna stay trapped in the school forever and the only way to escape would be by committing murder and getting away with it in a class trial.
Chapter 1[]
Daily Life[]
ll students investigated around the school and gathered at the diner to discuss what they found. Unfortunately, they didn't manage to find much.
The next day, Mitch is seen sexually harassing Akane, but he stops and runs away after being spotted by Yuki.
At some point, Monokuma was disappointed that several days passed and a murder had not happened, so he decided to give everyone a motive. He told them to go to the A/V room. There, the students found DVDs, one for each student. The content of the DVD’s showed the viewer’s most precious things and people in great danger. Mitch’s video showed stadiums being destroyed, professional soccer players going missing and terrorists attacking FIFA headquarters. Mitch was already planning to commit murder by that point, but the motive presumably strengthened his will to escape.
Killing Kiyoka[]
As part of his murder plan, Mitch created a note telling the reader to come to the laundry room at 6 am. His target was Tsurugi, but because of an incident where the room name plates were switched, he accidentally sent it to Kiyoka’s room. As a result, she went to the room instead. Despite being the wrong target, Mitch still killed Kiyoka, as he still wanted to go along with the plan. He then cleaned most of the blood in the scene and carried Kiyoka’s body near the girls’ restroom. His plan to frame the murder was something that could be only done by one of the female students, as the male students couldn’t legally enter the girls’ restroom without getting punished with death.
Mitch bought a hook, a rope and a rubber ball from the antiques store for the plan. Careful to not accidentally enter the restroom, he tied the rope around the rubber ball and kicked the rubber ball into the restroom to make it tie to the pipe like a noose. He repeated this several times until it looked like the noose was done by a person through normal means. Mitch then threw his hook around the pipe, to make the noose stronger, and used the other end of the ropes to hang Kiyoka’s corpse and threw it into the restroom. At that point, it looked like Kiyoka was naturally hung or strangled by someone who entered the girls restroom.
Of course, the plans had flaws, as the rubber ball’s remains were left inside the restroom, and Kiyoka’s corpse was still holding part of the note. Her corpse was found by the others during the morning. Monokuma confirmed that it was indeed a murder done by one of the classmates and told them to start a investigation to figure out who did it.
Class Trial[]
During the class trial, the girls were suspected first thanks to Mitch’s tricks. However, Yuki and others were able to come to the conclusion anyone could have committed the murder, and the girls were likely framed. After learning what trick the culprit used, suspicion fell on Mitsuhiro, as he was the only one with the skills to use the rubber ball like that. Mitch reacted with anger and had several breakdowns throughout the trial. Eventually, everyone voted for him as the culprit, and Monokuma confirmed their verdict was correct.
In the post-trial, Mitch said he committed murder because of the disasters he saw on his motive video. However, everybody else called him out on it, as his murder plan was too complex to be created on the fly and couldn’t have been done right after the motive videos were shown.
As part of the class trial rules, Mitch was executed by Monokuma for committing a murder and failing to get away with it. He was chained to a giant soccer ball. An army of monokuma robots then appeared and kept kicking the ball around, doing it more violently as time went on, to the point of catching on fire. It continued until Mitch was dead.
