Greetings, filthy insects! You may call me MonoChrome. Hyper, suuuuper advanced robot and curator of Last Hope Sanctuary!
~ MonoChrome's introduction
I told you it was simple, didn't i? Just murder one of the other Ultimate Students here and you're allowed to go home free. Humans can be killed so easily, and in so many ways. Stab each other! Club each other! Suffocate each other! Smash each other's brains in! Sky's the limit! Use your imagination!
~ MonoChrome's enthusiastic speech about murder.

MonoChrome is the central antagonist of the Fanganronpa YouTube series Brave Danganronpa: Coward’s Paradise.

They are the supervisor of the “Coward Extermination Program” and the curator of Last Hope Sanctuary, where a Killing Game takes place. As a robot, MonoChrome is made of billions of nanobots, which allows them to shapeshift and repair themself at will.

They are voiced by bblackroses.

Personality[]

MonoChrome acts like the typical Monokuma-inspired Killing game supervisor, always trying to convince the students to kill each other and making sure they don’t break rules. They are also highly humorous, sarcastic and energetic. Even when talking about disturbing topics, they will do it in a cutesy way, and make fun of the students if they have any concerns.

However, they seem to be more aggressive than Monokuma: They never try to be polite to the students, always reminds them of how much they suck and often compares them to insects. While they try to avoid unnecessary kills, MonoChrome is always excited at the idea of the students dying or being tortured.

Biography[]

16 Ultimate Students woke up in a strange place known as “Last Hope Sanctuary”, with no memory of how they ended up there. Using voice speakers, Monochrome told the students to introduce themselves to each other and afterwards gather again at the entrance hall. After the students did that, MonoChrome formed in front of everyone, much to their confusion.

MonoChrome explained to everyone that there is no way to leave the sanctuary, and they are supposed to remain there until the end of their lives. This angered everyone, especially Daigo, who used his sheer force to destroy the robot. However, since they are made of several nanobots, Monochrome was able to repair and form again. This time, Daigo was not able to destroy them, as the robot used more nanobots to make him immovable and then electrocuted him. Daigo survived but it was made clear that messing with MonoChrome was not a good idea.

Anko questioned MonoChrome, stating that the idea of being imprisoned forever sounds too simple and hypothesized that there is a way out of the building, as long as they do something the robot wants. MonoChrome was annoyed by Anko ruining her rehearsal, but confirmed that she got it right, and that there is a way to escape the sanctuary: By killing someone and getting away with the crime. They explained that If anyone committed murder, all students would have to attend a class trial and find out who did it. If they guessed correctly, only the killer would be executed, but if they got it wrong, everyone besides the killer would die, and the latter would be able to escape the sanctuary.

Anko questioned why they would start such a complex plan instead of simply killing everyone, but MonoChrome refused to give any more answers. With all that, the Killing Game officially began.
