Monster is the secondary antagonist in Friday Night Funkin': HD, serving as the main antagonist of Week 2, and the secondary antagonist of Week 5.

Like in the original game, he is a demonic entity that stalks Boyfriend around. However, Boyfriend is the only one who has interacted with him so far.

Appearance[]

Like most other characters, Monster appears the same as he does in the vanilla game, sans for the different art style. However, in "Winter Horrorland", he wears reindeer antlers instead of a Santa hat.

Personality[]

Unlike the other characters, who behave similar to their original personalities from the classic game, Monster notably acts far worse than his original counterpart. Rather than just simply wanting to kill and eat Boyfriend and Girlfriend, he attempts to psychologically torment the former by any means necessary, playing somewhat of a game of cat and mouse. While when he first meets him, he just jokes around and makes occasionally death threats, he completely crosses the line in "Winter Horrorland", where he sadistically makes it look like he decapitated Girlfriend and put her head on top of the tree. Furthermore, he tells Boyfriend, who is understandably horrified and distraught by this sight to the point where he's crying a waterfall of tears, to talk to him in a light hearted manner.

Originally he was once a regular human who interacted with a demon, which made him turn into the husk of fat and bones with no muscle that he is today. This is not displayed for sympathy and does not excuse his sadism, however, as it was explained by KOLSAN that he the reason he did this was because he craved more power, therefore implying that he was a bad person even when he was mortal.

Trivia[]

His right pose references the Troll Face meme.
One person accused the Monster's teeth of actually being severed fingers. KOLSAN neither confirmed or denied this.
In one of Monster's dialogue portraits, particularly the scene where he says, "WATCH OUT FOR GAS", a rotted human head can be seen inside his mouth. This is a reference to the fact that he was once human.
In "Cocoa" and "Eggnog", Monster is seen in the background dressed as the "candy" dealer from the web series, Spooky Month rather than standing undressed in public. This implies that he wishes to keep his presence hidden, unlike his original counterpart.
- The fact that he renders Boyfriend unconscious and encounters him in his dreams and no one else is there supports this.
