Morgaroth is the overarching antagonist (along with Tyler Garrison) of the YouTube series Disaster Almighty. He serves as one of the two main antagonists (alongside Tyrone Garrison) of Season 1, the posthumous antagonist of Season 2 and the overarching antagonist of Season 3.

He is an inter dimensional demon bent on destroying peace and harmony and spreading chaos and darkness across every dimension. He wanted to destroy Conor Powell after discovering that he is the true chosen one destined to defeat him, considering that Conor is from the planet, Starvexia, a planet inhabited by alien human hybrids with superpowers.

He is voiced by Benedict Cumberbatch, who also voiced Smaug and Sauron in The Hobbit trilogy, Khan Noonien Singh in Star Trek: Into Darkness, Dormammu, Sinister Strange, and Strange Supreme in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, The Grinch in the 2018 film with the same name, and Shere Khan in the 2018 film adaptation of The Jungle Book, Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle.

Personality[]

Morgaroth is a cold-hearted and villainous demon, who uses lies and threats to turn people against each other. He is also a malevolent, narcissistic and prideful entity that only desires to take over the multiverse. He is shown to be extremely sadistic and destructive, as he taunts Conor about his failure and he takes joy in causing chaos, even when he created the Druun and sent them to Kumandra. He is also manipulative towards others, since he manipulated Alister into believing that Nolan and Eudora were only dragging him down and then corrupting him into becoming Dark Mayhem, Morgaroth also corrupted a few other Starvexians along the way.

Morgaroth is very cruel, megalomaniacal and has a complete lack of sympathy toward others, especially his own creations, the Nether Demons, since he abuses them in many ways. He is also very arrogant, thinking that Conor’s will wasn’t strong enough even though his will is already strong compared to those who were corrupted by Morgaroth. He thinks that the power of hope is meaningless which led to his defeat and the defeat of his creation, The Druun. He views others as inferior compared to him, due to his status as a god. His arrogance has proven to be his downfall, since he underestimated Conor and his strength.

Biography[]

Origin[]

Morgaroth has existed before time itself, he first appeared as a black mist drifting through the cosmos while the ancients were building the omniverse. He witnessed the creation of every universe and wanted to corrupt every last one of them and spread chaos because it’s what he was meant to do, so they had to stop him. The ancients won the battle and imprisoned Morgaroth in a giant crystal so that he couldn’t harm anyone. But the prison couldn’t hold Morgaroth for long, as he was able to create a world of his own, a world inhabited by all kinds of horrors, the Nether Realm. Morgaroth’s spirit is able to roam around despite his body being imprisoned inside the crystal, he needed another life to feast upon in order to be free, whenever he manages to wreak havoc it weakens the walls of his prison, he even managed to become the leader of the monsters who live in the Nether Realm.

Trying to Gain Freedom[]

Morgaroth tried everything in order to break free from his prison, he sent his Nether Demons to give him life force to devour so he could be free, but the Starvexians were always there to defeat them. Then he created The Druun and sent them to another dimension, Kumamdra, but they were defeated by the Sisu, the female dragon, by using the dragon gem. Morgaroth was apparently responsible for everything that happened in the movie, Raya and the Last Dragon. Suddenly when the tribes were fighting over the gem it broke, and Morgaroth was able to resurrect the Druun and they started turning people to stone, several years have past and Raya brought Sisu, made friends and ultimately defeated the Druun and all the tribes of Kumandra became one again.

Making a Deal[]

One day a demon named Terrazort came to Morgaroth’s domain and said he wanted to stand by his side once he’s free from his prison, Morgaroth was happy to oblige, so he created an artifact Terrazort needed to wreak havoc, the Nether Crystal. Morgaroth sent Terrazort to a renaissance dimension where Terrazort could start meddling with people’s lives to feast on negative emotions, then Terrazort manipulated two hunters, Henry Worthington and Lily Kirk into getting an magical artifact that was sent to the dimension so that the monks of the cathedral could keep it safe, the Plant of Eternal Bloom, and then Terrazort killed them and used their corpses and the plant to create the Heart of Darkness.

Terrazort successfully conquered the dimension and corrupted all life, then he came back to the Nether Realm to show Morgaroth the negativity and souls that was inside the crystal, Morgaroth thought he could finally be free from his prison, but Terrazort revealed that he lied so that he could become extremely powerful much to Morgaroth’s shock and rage. Morgaroth was very displeased to realize that he was played by one of his own creation, Terrazort points out that Morgaroth never cared about his creations the Nether Demons and the Druun, and that he was using them to sustain himself, then Morgaroth coldly admits it and said he’ll immense satisfaction in eradicating them when he no longer needs them. Morgaroth claims that the Starvexians won’t stand a chance once he gets out of his prison, but Terrazort reminds him of the prophecy about the Starvexian with a pure heart defeating him and warns him that his arrogance will be his downfall, then leaves him to rot in his prison while Morgaroth growls with rage.

Destroying Starvexia[]

One day he stumbled upon Alister a Starvexian who was struggling with his powers, Morgaroth manipulated him into believing that his friends, Nolan and Eudora, were holding him back and then corrupted him, transforming him into Dark Mayhem the warlord, he also corrupted other Starvexians along the way. Several years have past and Nolan and Eudora became the new rulers of Starvexia and had a child who would become the chosen one, Conor Powell, Dark Mayhem was tasked with destroying the entire planet to ensure that they would stand in Morgaroth’s way and so Morgaroth can feast on the life force of everyone who died, but Nolan and Eudora were able to send Conor to a planet far far away. Nolan sacrificed himself while Dark Mayhem took Eudora to his ship and was held prisoner, but he did succeed in destroying Starvexia and everyone in it, allowing Morgaroth to devour the souls of those who perished.

Present[]

In 1984, a human couple, Gary and Bridgette McAllen found Conor and took him in, they showed him the wonders of earth and he enjoyed spending with them. 12 years have past and Dark Mayhem searched everywhere in the galaxy, until he finally found Conor’s location, the planet Earth. Conor told his adoptive parents about the origin of his home planet and he managed to protect them from Dark Mayhem and his alien troops when they arrived, Conor wanted to go to his ship and confront him but then he realized that his mother is still alive, so he freed her. His mother, Eudora, told him the true threat that he needed to defeat, Morgaroth and that Dark Mayhem used to be a friend to his father. Dark Mayhem needed to prepare a ritual to free Morgaroth from his crystal prison by sacrificing Nolan’s corpse, and Morgaroth was finally free. Conor tried to convince Dark Mayhem that Morgaroth was only using him but he refused to believe him, Conor and Eudora used a teleported that on the ship and went to the Nether Realm and destroy Morgaroth once and for all. Conor fought him, then Dark Mayhem appeared and started to remember the person he used to be and finally realized that he is nothing but a pawn to the all-powerful demon, turning back into his normal self in the process, then he turned on him and ended getting devoured his demon minions. Morgaroth proclaimed that Conor’s will is not strong, that he is nothing without his powers, then he opened a portal and came to earth with his army of demons. Conor and Eudora followed him and began to fight his entire army, Conor was able to tap into his powers and starting fighting Morgaroth again and proved to him that he is truly the chosen one, destroying him in the process. He saved the earth and the multiverse is safe.
