Mr. L is an antagonist in the Friday Night Funkin' mod, Mario's Madness, serving as the main antagonist of the song Overdue.

Appearance[]

Mr. L's faker form looks almost like Luigi's appearance in Super Mario Bros. 3, only his limbs appear slightly longer, and his colors are muted. His true form resembles Luigi in appearance but with notable differences. He looks larger, his limbs are very elongated and his colors are muted. He has only two dots for eyes and his mouth is exaggeratedly large. The buttons on his overalls and the emblem of his cap are red.

History[]

Background[]

Mr. L was once identical to the original Luigi, until he was accidentally killed by Mario, falling into the lava. Luigi would return as a vengeful spirit and kill his brother. A while later, Mr. L would be taken to the Super Horror Mario game in Hellish Heights, becoming a "friend" of him.

Overdue[]

While Boyfriend and Girlfriend were busy facing off against Horror Mario's gauntlet, Pico had come into their house, presumably to investigate their disappearance, before taking notice of their television being turned on, approaching the screen to take a closer look, Horror Mario grabs Pico by the shirt and pulls him into the TV as well, forcing him to face off against Mr. L.

Trivia[]

Originally it was stated by the director of Mario's Madness, Marco Antonio, that Mr. L would not be in the mod. However, this was done to make his appearance a surprise, which was ruined when his song was leaked on Twitter and the developers were forced to announce his reveal.
He's the only opponent in the mod who never encounters Boyfriend and Girlfriend due to him fighting Pico instead.
- However, Ultra M does briefly use his vocals when singing against Boyfriend in the final act of All Stars, as he does with most of the mod's characters.
Eso Marx's Overdue Spanish lyrics, specifically the verse "Yo soy luigi mamma mia" has become an internet meme, which Mr. Pixel, Mr. L's creator, has voiced his disdain over several times.
