Mystery Critter

The Mystery Critter is a minor antagonist in GamerJoob's Poppy Playtime story arc concept, The Forgotten Critters.

Hence the name, they were a brand of Smiling Critters toys that served as a mystery toy that were placed in plastic eggs that acted as surprises for buyers.

Prior to getting a powerful new body from Bull Bullyno, the Mystery Critters were a collection of plushies smaller than the usual Critter, but have no resemblance to an actual animal. Each of them were just a Critter with a little feature, like the yellow one having wings and the pink one having antennas.

When they were given their new powerful body, the Mystery Critters were fused together in a Frankenstein-esque way, with the antenna ones head having the blue critters tongue and the green ones spike mohawk the yellow body with the wings, and the arms and legs were mixed up.

Time of creation[]

The Mystery Critters were a new brand idea created by Playtime Co. after the Smiling Critters got popular, with them following the gimmick of whatever you'll get within a plastic egg. However, a controversy struck with the sales because of there being only four in the set, and buyers who attempt on getting all of them unluckily get copies of the same one. The Mystery Critters were later discontinued.

Getting their new form[]

After being abandoned down in the deepest parts of the factory, the four critters ended up running into Bull Bullyno, who was able to convince them about their situation and brought them to The Prototype where they were concealed inside of a giant egg, and soon gained a new powerful body overtime.

The Mystery Critter would later actively chase down the Player for destroying their plastic eggs, which was part of a puzzle. Upon losing sight of the target, they went to search the area, the Player would get into a cat and mouse game hiding from the Frankenstein-esque creature and used any left over plastic eggs as distractions to get to the following room or duck inside air vents. In the end, the Player was able to escape the Mystery Critters through an door with a safety lock without having a final chase sequence or finishing it off.
