Nightmare Bonnie, also known as Infernal Bonnie or Jack-O-Bonnie, is a minor antagonist in Five Nights at Freddy's fanfiction Mike's New Ghostly Family, by Archcommander-Tenebros.

He is a demon who is a part of the Nightmares, a clan ruled by Nightmare, all members of whom take forms of monstrous animatronics from Freddy Fazbear's franchise as a testament to the corruption of innocense that is associated with the franchise. He makes up ranks of Lesser Nightmares with Nightmare Freddy, Nightmare Chica and Nightmare Foxy, and serves as the group's scientist.

Appearance[]

Nightmare Bonnie takes form of a monstrous version of Bonnie. He is a monstrous bluish-purple rabbit animatronic who wears a red bowtie. He has glimmering eyes, dual rows of sharp teeth and pointy claws. As Infernal Bonnie, he is orange in color with infernal flames glowing inside his body, and his eyesockets become empty, replaced with unholy orange glow.

His true demonic form was not described in detail, so it's impossible to deduce its appearance. It was described as a hideous, monstrous abomination that would drive a weak mind insane and strike fear even into the heart of a seasoned average demon lord.

Personality[]

Similarly to all other demons, Nightmare Bonnie is sadistic, cruel, vicious and malevolent. He greatly enjoys tormenting damned souls and delights in seeing others suffer and indulging in acts of wickedness. In later chapters it's revealed that Nightmare Bonnie also serves as a scientist of the Nightmares, enjoying studying the unknown and performing twisted experiments on his victims.

History[]

Nightmare Bonnie and his kin ruled over the lowest circles of Hell, their dominion uncontested and their names feared all over Hell. When vengeful Evan Afton wished for his older brother Michael to pay for suffering and death he wrought upon him, Old Man Consequences granted his wish in the most unwanted way possible by sending the Nightmares after him in his cursed dreams, where they would murder him over and over again unless he survives 'til 6 AM. Nightmare Bonnie and his fellow Nightmares took forms of twisted and monstrous Fazbear franchise animatronics for that torture, which they kept afterwards as a testament to the corruption of innocense that was associated with the franchise.

Throughout these cursed dreams, Nightmare Bonnie and his fellow Nightmares were tormenting Michael with the knowledge that he murdered his younger brother and repeatedly murdering him in brutal fashion until Michael heard Evan's voice telling him to fight back and started fighting back against the Nightmares in their cruel game, with Nightmare Bonnie attacking Evan from the left hallway throughout the trials. Starting from Night 4, Nightmare Bonnie and his fellow Nightmares began to mimick Evan's voice to force Michael to plunge into his doom until the teen was forced to ignore the false pleas. He and the other Lesser Nightmares would disappear at fifth and seventh nights, with Nightmare Fredbear and Nightmare himself taking their places respectively, though they would return at sixth and eighth nights, more aggressive than ever before, before the two respective Greater Nightmares would replace them at 4 AM.

When William Afton perished, his soul was claimed by the Nightmares, and when Afton lost his wager against Nightmare, unable to break up the new family formed between Mike Schmidt and the ghostly murder victims, and had his minimal heavenly protections revoked, the demons began to torture him more intensely, with Infernal Bonnie shoving him inside the torture device that reenacted his death in Spring Bonnie suit, but more painfully. However, unlike their lord, Nightmare Bonnie didn't interact with the Schmidt's family much, instead tending to their own businesses and occasionally screwing with their games by adding strokes of bad luck.

One day, Vucarik invaded the Nightmares' realm and, after distracting them with diversion attack, broke into their palace, injured the younger Nightmares, stole their essences, gave them to Afton and sent him to the mortal world. Outraged at his attack, Nightmare Bonnie and the others shedded their animatronic forms and revealed their true eldritch forms before joining Lucifer's loyalists and status-quo supporters in their battle against Vucarik's forces, turning the tide of battle in their favor. Once Nightmare himself joined the battlefield, he completely destroyed Vucarik's armies and crushed the would-be usurper before letting other demons deal with him as he, Nightmarionne and Nightmare Fredbear would come to the mortal world to assist Schmidt in defeating demonically-empowered Afton and sending him back to Hell.

Once Afton was returned back to Hell, the Nightmares gathered up to discuss the new torture methods for the murderer. However, before they started their discussion, Infernal Bonnie asked Nightmare why he didn't try to corrupt Schmidt if the man possessed such strong innate darkness, referring to how he gruesomely tortured Afton in his mind, with Infernal Foxy agreeing with his statements. Nightmare explained to Infernal Bonnie that Mike has too many moral anchors in the form of his family and friends that would never let darkness in his heart triumph over his goodness, and that Heaven itself watches over Schmidt's family, thus ensuring that he'd never be able to corrupt him even if he wanted to do so. Though he acknowledged the answer, Infernal Bonnie still wasn't satisfied, but Nightmare clarified that he has different plan in mind that, as he stated, would achieve a desirable result very similar to the plan of corrupting Schmidt, the one that won't invoke the Heaven's wrath.

Once the Nightmares were satisfied, they went to discussing Afton's torments, with Nightmare proposing to force him to relive the suffering of all the nightguards that perished in Fazbear-related establishments, also humiliating him in front of the entire Hell to crush his insufferable arrogance. The demon lord ordered the Nightmares to gather all information about any animatronic spawned by Freddy Fazbear or Circus Baby's franchises and use them to create animatronics in William Afton's new prison, which Nightmare would model after Freddy Fazbear's pizzerias of old, forcing Afton to ward off every single animatronic created by the tainted franchises. As Infernal Bonnie and Infernal Chica were particularly eager to get his hands on Afton, they both were allowed to use both Nightmare and Infernal forms for their attack. During the second session of Afton's special torture, Nightmare Bonnie was the one who claimed his kill, gruesomely gouging out the murderer's eyes with his claws, peeling his face off, and then crushing his head under his foot, tactics he learned from seeing Mike's torture of him.

When the Nightmares learned of Glitchtrap's existence from Mike and Nightmare, they were appalled by the fact that Afton somehow managed to cheat death yet again. Nightmare Bonnie expressed his interest in getting his claws on one instance of Glitchtrap, hoping to study his nature and perform all sorts of experiments on him. When Old Man Consequences taught Nightmare on how to perform the ritual that would destroy every single copy of the game that contained Glitchtrap, Nightmare Bonnie assisted his master in performing the ritual, allowing them to destroy all copies of the game with Glitchtrap, leaving behind only the one that didn't contain him, meaning that one instance had managed to escape. Afterwards, Nightmare dismissed his clan except for Nightmare Bonnie, whom he entrusted with studying the true nature of Glitchtrap, allowing him to perform all sorts of experiments on him, with Nightmarionne and Nightmare Fredbear occasionally checking on him to see his progress.

Once Nightmare Bonnie was done with the research, he reported to Nightmare, revealing everything he found out about Glitchtrap. He explained that Glitchtrap is an unnatural abomination that is capable of infecting the victim's soul, and, if not resisted, would break down the mental defenses, merge with victim's soul and force the victim to do his bidding, though infection can be undone by the direct application of holy light or hellfire, which would be agonizingly painful for the victim. Nightmare was pleased with the discoveries, though he wasn't pleased with the fact that Infernal Bonnie destroyed Glitchtrap, but accepted it when the demon provided his reasoning. The demon lord demanded Infernal Bonnie to write up a report that he'll present to Old Man Consequences, with approval or displeasure from him would be translated to reward or punishment for Infernal Bonnie. The demon accepted and cut off the communication, but not before revealing that he initiated the Sterilization Protocol Omega (burn down the entire lab with hellfire), much to Nightmare's dismay.

When Nightmare managed to gain complete autonomy over the development of Fazbear Entertainment's VR game, he included multiple failsafes to ensure that Glitchtrap would never return, including the addition of Nightmare animatronics, imbued with demonic essences to ensure that Glitchtrap would remain destroyed. The demonic essences in programmed Nightmare animatronics also allowed the Nightmares to possess their in-game counterparts, allowing them to communicate with Schmidt's family, with Nightmare Bonnie using this to gloat to Schmidts whenever he successfully jumpscared any of them. Like the other Nightmares, when the Schmidts discovered the secret Nightmare hid for them in the game, Nightmare Bonnie withdrew his presence from Schmidts' copy of the game.

Much later, when Nightmare learned of Fazbear Entertainment's Special Delivery project and the fact that Mike Schmidt had his arm and leg broken by their Toy Bonnie animatronic, he decided to take matters into his own hands, invading the minds of executives. Nightmare Bonnie, along with the other Lesser Nightmares, took part in torturing them before Nightmare moved on to finish the job and then present his ultimatum.
