Nightmare Mangle is a minor antagonist in Five Nights at Freddy's fanfiction Mike's New Ghostly Family, by Archcommander-Tenebros.

He is a hellhound created by Nightmarionne with Nightmare's essence, meant to serve as a pet to the Nightmares, serving the role of a hunter or bestial torturer.

Appearance[]

Nightmare Mangle, just like his regular counterpart, is a horrific mishmash of endoskeleton parts, possessing multiple arms and legs, and having a second one-eyed endoskeletal head. The only part of his body that appears to be relatively intact is his head, which resembles Nightmare Foxy's head, but white and pink instead of orange. Both of his mouths are full of razor-sharp teeth. His fox-like head has a long tongue in its mouth.

Personality[]

Unlike the other Nightmares, Nightmare Mangle does not possess a full-fledged intelligence, instead behaving in feral, animalistic manner. As a hellhound, He behaves in a manner similar to a dog, licking faces of his masters to show his fondness of them and wishing to please then in any way he could.

History[]

Nightmare Mangle was created by Nightmarionne, who requested Nightmare to use some of his power for experiments. Immediately after its birth, Nightmare Mangle rushed into Nightmare's throne room, hopping on his lap and beginning to lick his face with his tongue. As Nightmare struggled to comprehend that he was just greeted by the new Nightmare, Nightmarionne revealed himself and revealed that he was the one who created Nightmare Mangle, explaining that he always wanted to create another member of their kind himself. The demon lord told his subordinate that all such experiments in the future are forbidden and that he needs to discuss them in full detail whenever he wants to get a permission. Afterwards, he asked Nightmarionne what Nightmare Mangle is supposed to be, with the demonic puppet revealing that it's meant to be their new pet, modelled after Mangle, who was already considered disturbing, and making even scarier version of it to serve as their new hellhound.

Observing the Nightmares' new pet, Nightmare stated that it may not be used for a prolonged battle due to its low intellect and the fact that it's unclear how sturdy it actually is, though he admitted that Nightmare Mangle has potential as a bestial torturer or a tracker in case one of the damned souls manages to escape. Afterwards, he told Nightmarionne that the demonic puppet will be the one cleaning up if it shits on his carpet and demanded him to leave as he gets acquainted with their new pet. As Nightmarionne left, Nightmare started thinking about how Nightmare Mangle can break William Afton, intending to use it for his Ultimate Custom Night torture.

Trivia[]

Nightmare Mangle's canine-like behavior and status as the Nightmares' hellhound is based on the prevalent "Mangle is Susie's dog" theory, as revealed in the author's notes of Chapter 106, its debut chapter.
