Nightmarionne is a minor antagonist-turned-villainous ally of Five Nights at Freddy's fanfiction Mike's New Ghostly Family, by Archcommander-Tenebros.

He is one of three Greater Nightmares, a trio of demon lords who serve as leaders of the Nightmares, a clan of demons who took form of twisted, monstrous animatronics of Freddy Fazbear's franchise as a testament to the corruption of innocense associated with the franchise. Together with Nightmare Fredbear, he serves as one of Nightmare's primary enforcers.

Appearance[]

Nightmarionne takes form of monstrous version of the Puppet animatronic. He resembles a tall, lanky version of the Puppet with pitch-black body and a white mask with black tears and lipstick, with sharp rows of teeth in the mouth and white glimmering eyes in the eyesockets. His chest features visible ribs, and his hands end in very long, tentacle-esque sharp claws.

His true demonic form was not described in detail, leaving it impossible to make out the details, with the only description of his true form being a hideous, monstrous abomination that would drive a weak mind insane and strike fear even into the heart of a seasoned average demon lord.

Personality[]

Compared to other Nightmares, Nightmarionne possesses very odd and eccentric personality. He's a fun-loving, goofy, playful and surprisingly polite and friendly demon who enjoys playing games with others (and not in a twisted and malicious way). However, he's still a demon who enjoys torturing damned souls and indulging himself in the acts of wickedness, which he takes great pride in. While other Nightmares primarily rely on brute force when fighting, Nightmarionne relies on trickery and confusion, as he's known to erratically teleport and disorient his targets before impaling them from behind with his tentacle claws.

History[]

Nightmarionne was ruling over the lowest circles of Hell with his fellow Nightmares for thousands of years, their names feared all over Hell and their dominion uncontested even with seven making up their numbers. After the time when Nightmares entered Michael Afton's mind, they took forms of monstrous, demonic versions of Freddy Fazbear animatronics as a testament to corrupted innocense associated with the franchise, with Nightmarionne taking twisted form of the Marionette animatronic, even though he didn't participate in terrorizing Michael in his dreams.

Nightmarionne didn't personally meet Mike Schmidt and his ghostly family for a very long time, instead preferring to simply irritate the mortals by adding strokes of bad luck to their games. However, it would change when Vucarik decides to invade their realm, grievously injuring the younger Nightmares and stealing their essences, which he bestowed upon William Afton and sent him into the surface world. As Nightmarionne realized what Vucarik did, Nightmare ordered his clan to shed their animatronic forms and reveal their true forms, while he would visit Schmidt to inform him of Afton's escape and revenge plans before joining them in civil war of Hell.

Soon, Nightmarionne, Nightmare Fredbear and the lesser Nightmares joined Lucifer's loyalists and status-quo supporters who saw Vucarik's power grab for what it is, turning the tide of battle against Vucarik's forces into their favor. As the battle raged on, Nightmare himself joined the fray of battle, shedding his own animatronic form as well and destroying all of Vucarik's armies in three spells, leaving the would-be usurper without an army. Vucarik tried to escape, but Nightmarionne and Nightmare Fredbear stopped him, and after Nightmare grievously mutilated him, he threw him to all other demons before he, Nightmarionne and Nightmare Fredbear turned back into their animatronic forms and arrived into the world of the living, into Mike's house. Once they learned that Afton possessed Mike and is fighting him inside his mindscape, Nightmare went with Nightmare Fredbear to the bedroom to ensure that Afton won't be able to escape, ordering Nightmarionne to keep the ghostly children busy so that they won't interfere in their business.

Nightmarionne decided to entertain the ghostly children by making them watch him play God of War III as Mike Schmidt and William Afton were fighting inside the former's mind. Once the fight has ended, and Nightmare carried Afton's broken, mutilated shade outside, Nightmarionne thought that Nightmare had unleashed full fury upon the murderer, only to get surprised when he finds out that it was Mike Schmidt who broke Afton that way, using the power of imagination for darkest purposes. As the Nightmares turned to leave, Nightmare, as a token of respect and gratitude for providing him with entertainment, bestowed upon Mike his blessing, known as Anathema Curse, that would make Afton suffer should he ever come close to Schmidt. Mike forgave Nightmare for his earlier assault on Schmidt's family, and the demon lord in turn gave Mike a warrior's salute, a sign that is the closest he ever acknowledged someone as an equal, before the Nightmares returned back to Hell.

Nightmarionne would later meet the Schmidt family again at Halloween, in Mike's dream where he reenacted the game of Trivia Murder Party for his kids to play, deciding to join the game as the 8th player, coming very close to victory until he lost the final round, with Charlie eventually winning the game, though the demon lord was still very entertained by Schmidt's game. As he returned back to Hell, Nightmare informed his fellow Nightmares that, to break William Afton, they would have to take his pride that defined the corruption of his soul and crush it, to show how insignificant he is and to make him the laughingstock for all of Hell to see. That torture method would eventually be known as the Ultimate Custom Night.

At one point of time, Nightmarionne would request for Nightmare to use some of his power for his latest experiment, said experiment turning out to be the creation of Nightmare Mangle. Though Nightmare was displeased by the fact that Nightmarionne didn't inform him of his plans, he knew that he never forbade his enforcer from doing so, though he stated that all such future experiments are forbidden and require his full knowledge of experiments' goals before receiving permission. When asked about Nightmare Mangle, Nightmarionne responded that the new Nightmare is meant to be their new pet, a hellhound that would be imbued with their demonic essences. Though Nightmare was not confident in using it for battle, he acknowledged that the beast has potential as a bestial torturer or a hunter. The demon lord then told Nightmarionne that it would be his responsibility for cleaning up after beast and demanded him to leave, and the demonic puppet quickly complied with the order as his lord started growing acquainted with their new pet in private.

Some time after the discovery of Glitchtrap, Nightmarionne was just as displeased by discovery that Afton once again managed to cheat death as other Nightmares were. After assisting his lord in performing the ritual to destroy every single copy of VR game that contained Glitchtrap, he and Nightmare Fredbear were assigned with the task of observing Nightmare Bonnie's research on Glitchtrap's nature and abilities.

After gaining complete autonomy over the VR game development, Nightmare managed to recreate and improve the game, while also implementing the failsaves to ensure that Glitchtrap would never be able to repossess it, one of such failsaves being the inclusion of Nightmare animatronics, the files of whom were partially imbued with the Nightmares' essences to ensure they'd be able to erase all traces of Glitchtrap whenever they find them. Nightmarionne was one of the animatronics implemented into the game, being able to contact Mike Schmidt by projecting himself into his programmed version, explaining that the programs are partially similar to Glitchtrap in nature, but are harmless to players, and describing the method he communicates with Mike. After the talk, Nightmarionne jumpscared Schmidt and the man started the level proper. Though Mike failed at the first attempt, he was able to beat him on the second one, and Nightmarionne congratulated him on his success, though not before boasting that, even though Mike is much more skilled at survival, he still failed once, ensuring that those who are not as prepared as him won't be as lucky at completing his level or Nightmare Fredbear's. Once Mike Schmidt and his ghostly family completed the game and found the secret Nightmare hid in "Curse of Dreadbear" DLC, the Nightmares withdrew their presences from their copy of the game. Nightmarionne asked Nightmare out of curiosity is he truly no longer going to provide any assistance to the Schmidts, with Nightmare replying that he won't assist them for a time being. Nightmarionne commented that even one copy of Glitchtrap can cause sufficient damage, to which Nightmare and Nightmare Fredbear responded that now at the very least the Schmidts can handle dealing with him and his victim, and they have to prove that they are genuinely committed and determined to foil their plans, with the Nightmares continuing to observe their efforts.
