Nyarlathotep is a demonic being that lurks around the multiverse, causing mass chaos and destruction. He has made deals with several people across the multiverse, only to back stab them by doing something horrible. He also has been responsible for many deaths and he loves to commit horrible crimes such as mass genocide; he was also responsible for helping Shadow Ahriman become the evil villain he is now.
Personality[]
Nyarlathotep is known to be cruel, sadistic, and nihilistic. He knows what's right and what's wrong, but he simply doesn't care about how them since he just does whatever he feels like. He enjoys both torture and murder, getting pleasure out of it since he finds it funny. He doesn't really have much care for anyone or anything, only truly himself. He also finds Shadow Ahriman's ideas funny, given that he believes he is generally helping people in his universe despite the fact that he doesn't really care for anyone but himself and that he is also causing harm to others.
He is known to be manipulative, as he is seen making deals with multiple people, only to back stab them. He once made a deal with a tyrant during World War II, offering him power and the ability to commit mass genocide and he made him successful for a bit, letting millions of people die. However, in 1945, Nyarlathotep betrayed the tyrant and caused him to constantly hallucinate horrific images. It eventually lead the tyrant to suicide, ending his reign of terror. However, Nyarlathotep was still responsible for millions of deaths during the war and he didn't care one bit.
He enjoys people being afraid, so he often takes advantage over people's fears and makes them hallucinate them. While Nyarlathotep doesn't fear death, he does want to continue doing whatever he wants forever. Knowing that once he becomes too old, he will turn dust, he wants to possess Shadow Ahriman so he can continue his reign, and due to the fact that he also has a lot of things.
Appearance[]
Nyarlathotep's true form is described as something beyond understanding; if anyone looks at it directly, they could lose their mind entirely, having no sanity and possibly losing the understanding of right and wrong. No matter what, good or negative, looking at Nyarlathotep's true form will alter one's mind. The only thing that can remain normal by looking at it would be some kind of powerful being.
Mainly, Nyarlathotep takes the form of some kind of satanic figure. He normally wears robes and he is entirely black. Despite this, he usually disguises himself as someone or something else when he is about to make some kind of deal, only then to reveal his demonic form, as he did with Shadow Ahriman.
Biography[]
Past[]
No one really knows where Nyarlathotep came from or what he truly is, even though he is often considered to be a demon. At first, Nyarlathotep seemed to be some kind of black mass that roamed a universe devouring planets. However, he wasn't mindless, as he could speak and distinguish right from wrong. He was completely aware of the horrible things he was doing and he just simply didn't care.
One day, he landed on Earth thousands of years ago and took the form of some demonic being, roaming in a desert. No one knew of Nyarlathotep's existence until he was found watching over some village and supposedly sneaking into people's homes and devouring them and their entire families. At first, the people tried to appease Nyarlathotep, offering him many things, but he didn't see the point in it, so he killed them all and took their souls.
Nyarlathotep would remain on Earth for another few thousand years, committing many horrible acts and influencing others to do horrible things too. Several wars started because of him, causing millions of lives to be lost or damaged. He influenced both the events of World War I and World War II to happen, offering people power only to back stab them. He even took part in the war just for the sake of killing and betrayed several people. He took everyone who he killed's soul, only to devour it. He influenced other tyrants too, causing other wars which would cost many lives.
Some people became more aware of Nyarlathotep, and some people began believing that he could possibly help them with many things. Cults began worshiping him, believing that he was some kind of god and he actually appeared to some. He at first seemed kind to them, making them do horrible things and helped them. However, he would always later betray them in some of the most brutal ways possible, some that cannot even be described.
Nyarlathotep continued corrupting Earth until it became nothing but a dystopia, and he left it there so it could finally die. He did the same with many other planets, and eventually, he destroyed the entire universe just for fun and rebuilt it as a realm for himself.
Nyarlathotep did the same thing many times, causing genocides, mass murders, wars, anything, mainly just for fun. However, as the years went on, he knew that eventually, despite being very powerful, he would die. Not ready to end his reign of terror, Nyarlathotep went to another universe where he searched for a possible vessel.
Corrupting Ahriman's Universe[]
After making a horrible deal with Shadow Ahriman, costing many lives, Nyarlathotep decided to do some horrible things there too. He destroyed some planets, ate people, and even raped a few people just because he felt like it. He also caused several genocides, but eventually, he no longer found Shadow Ahriman interesting, so he took away his powers.
However, after making another deal with Shadow Ahriman, he began to find him more interesting again and revived him, beginning to think that really he was a good vessel. He also made a deal with Ahriman's brother, giving him similar powers. However, he only gave him them to see if Shadow Ahriman was powerful enough to defeat him, wondering if he was still worthy. After he killed his brother and destroyed his universe, Nyarlathotep just waited for Shadow Ahriman to show up so he could finally possess him.
