OIL.RIG is a character created by @YAYO_HEDGEHOG, and one of the many variations of Sonic.exe.
An amnesiac variant of Super Sonic who drowned in the Oil Ocean, Eggman manipulated him into becoming his personal puppet. After breaking free, he would go out with an EXE who would unfortunately die, shattering his psyche. Having gone back in time, his now deranged self is on the hunt for the one who helped him so long ago so the two could be together forever.
Appearance[]
OIL.RIG is an anthropomorphic hedgehog with brown quills with black tips, gray skin, and gray eyes with heart-shaped pupils. His gloves are gray, and his shoes are red with gray stripes. His chest is shaped like a heart, with an additional black heart inside. OIL wears prominent eyeshadow, and has notable eyelashes. A single red ring is found attached to his ear, allowing him to transport himself between dimensions.
Personality[]
OIL.RIG is obsessive over those he sees as close to him, going to great lengths to “protect” them. OIL is perfectly willing to kill those who aren't close to him in order to achieve his goal of protection.
OIL is delusional, believing that whoever's friends with him would go along with whatever he has planned. He also believes himself to be the strongest out of any EXE out there. He also believes that whatever he's doing is the right thing to do, even through all the crimes he committed.
That being said, if one were to get close to OIL, he'll shift into a violently protective figure, locking up his friends in their own houses. He is hinted to be nurturing, though.
Prior to the EXE he was close to dying, OIL was more akin to his mainstream counterpart of Sonic the Hedgehog. Much more courageous, loyal, and heroic, OIL originally fought for peace across the multiverse.
Biography[]
During a version of Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Robotnik's defeat in Mystic Cave Zone prompted the mad doctor to devise a plan in order to stop the hedgehog. Fearful of the power of the Chaos Emeralds, yet curious as to the power they yield, Robotnik thought of a way to get Super Sonic to snap.
At Oil Ocean's final act, before Sonic even had time to react, Robotnik had struck Tails with a needle, killing the young fox, in an attempt to get under Sonic's skin. Sonic, enraged at his friend's death, tried turning Super and charging at Robotnik, only to crash and fall into the ocean. Though he could easily escape, his grief left his feet tied to the depths, and he let himself drown.
Robotnik, noticing that Sonic was still powered by the Emeralds, went to retrieve the corpse, only to discover that Sonic was still alive, albeit with no signs of brain activity. Having come up with a way to use the body, Robotnik reawakened the hedgehog and lied to him, saying that the hedgehog was Robotnik's son and has been in a coma for two years. The hedgehog, not knowing of his past, fully believed the mad doctor, and embraced his new codename: OIL.RIG
A few weeks later, a peculiar red ring was found within Robotnik's lab, with testing proving that it could serve as a gateway between worlds. Wanting to use this power to gain information, Robotnik gave it to OIL, hoping that he would discover something out there.
At first, the plan was a success. It turns out, the ring was used by creatures known as EXEs, creatures just like OIL.RIG, most of them much stronger and more deadly than OIL could ever become. Fortunately, through his travels, OIL would meet up with a friendly EXE, and the two became fast friends, and the two worked together to help rid the multiverse of hostile EXEs.
Eventually, Robotnik's scheme would fall apart as OIL became aware of the fact that he was only used to gain information. This, combined with the numerous inhumane tests he was put through, ultimately resulted in him betraying Robotnik with the help of the friendly EXE. Blowing up the doctor's lair, the two would head out.
...Except, it turns out that a device that tracks down EXEs was still inside the lab when it was destroyed. Fortunately, with enough Chaos Energy, OIL discovered that he could travel back in time. After doing so, the two would continue on with their quest for universal peace.
Some time in the future, the EXE that had helped OIL had brutally died, causing what little bit of sanity that he had to completely shatter. OIL went back in time once more, but through all the Negative Chaos Energy flowing through him, OIL's mind began to warp. Now thinking that if the EXE he loves will die if he were to go outside, OIL tried to convince the EXE to stay inside with him forever, but to no avail. After the EXE ran throughout the multiverse, OIL kidnapped the EXE and dragged him all the way back to OIL's own. After killing his version of Cream and Vanilla, he took over their house and placed a dome over it, all in an effort to keep the EXE protected.
The dome would not hold him forever, as the EXE would eventually gather enough chaos energy to escape once more. OIL.RIG, now frustrated, dedicated the rest of his life to finding that EXE so the two can live together forever.

Abilities[]
- Chaos Manipulation: Being a variation of Super Sonic, OIL has all the abilities that regular Super Sonic has. Additionally, he has a much higher control over Chaos Energy, allowing him to form forcefields, lasers, and weapons made up of pure energy.
- Oil Controller: If a substance has properties of oil, such as wax or most chemicals, OIL.RIG can control them with relative ease. He also exhibits many properties of oil as well, and can float on water as a result.
- MERCURY.RIG: Through absorbing rings, OIL can transform into a sort of Hyper Form known as MERCURY.RIG for a short period of time, making him temporarily invincible to anything except fire, as well as granting enhanced stats.
Weaknesses[]
- Fire: Due to having the properties of oil, OIL.RIG can easily be set aflame. This has gotten to a point where he fears anything relating to heat.
- Separation from the Emeralds: OIL.RIG is perpetually powered by his world’s version of the Chaos Emeralds, due to them being how he was revived. Removing them from him will cause him to die via internal drowning as oil fills up his lungs.
- Boredom: Psychologically speaking, OIL tends to lose interest in targets if he doesn't find them “interesting” to keep around. It's best to keep a distance from him and not get too close, otherwise he'll take it as a sign of friendship.
- Mind: While OIL does have a strong mentality, if one were to sufficiently challenge it, his mind will completely shatter, forcing any activity in his brain to cease.
Trivia[]
- OIL.RIG was first created on May 1st, 2022, but received a redesign on the 8th of the same month by @UnsolvedK on Discord purely out of kindness.
- OIL.RIG claims that his mental state is completely fine, despite his insanity and inability to let others live their life suggesting otherwise.
- The main inspiration for OIL.RIG's design is Goku Black, even speaking in the same condescending manner in a British accent.
- When not fighting, OIL.RIG likes to cook, bake, and shop for clothes.
- OIL.RIG is a demiboy and bisexual.
- OIL.RIG obsesses over fighting due to the sheer thrill of it. Of course, his constant seeking of “fun” during a battle comes at a detriment, often letting opponents get some free hits to a dangerous degree.
- Should he feel attraction to a person, he'll just say it outright before trying to force said person to live with him forever.
- The identity of the EXE who helped OIL.RIG so long ago is unknown.
