Lionel the Lion, better known as Old Lionel, is one of the two secondary antagonists of the Showtime video game series (alongside Raider).

He serves as the secondary antagonist of Showtime and Showtime: Final Act (as Raider V2 in the latter), a major antagonist of Showtime II, and a cameo antagonist of Showtime III. He is a springlock lion animatronic who was the very first incarnation of Lionel the Lion. Following the Bite of '83 at Fredbear's Family Diner, he was decommissioned and stored in the maintenance room since springlock animatronics were now considered dangerous. He has since grown envious towards the current Lionel for replacing him and 'stealing his thunder'.

As revealed in Showtime III, his artificial intelligence was originally housed in the Lionel V1 animatronics from the Crazy Circus Fast-Food Theatre, which is now controlled by Ringmaster. Following the destruction of the Circus Entertainment warehouse, he, Sidney the Seal and Buddy the Dog fused with the now-broken Raider, becoming Raider V2.

Appearance[]

Being a springlock animatronic, Old Lionel has a larger, bulkier figure than most other animatronics in Clownbert's. He has a yellow colour scheme, with a brown mane, pads, and belly. The rims of his feet are orange and he has a green bow tie. He also has red eyes.

As Withered Old Lionel, the plating around his arms, feet, body and eyes are missing. The bottom of his belly is cracked, and his bow tie is torn.

As Lionel V1, like the other V1 animatronics, he is made out of wood, and has metal ears. He is the least damaged of the V1 animatronics.

Personality[]

Old Lionel, like the other animatronics at Clownbert's, used to be kind and friendly to children. However, after he was decommissioned and replaced with Lionel the Lion, he slowly became jealous and spiteful towards him, wanting revenge against him and the staff of Clownbert's.

Despite his bitter resentment, he is often shown to be calm and sophisticated, sometimes acting like a gentleman towards Graham while trying to attack him. He is also somewhat friendly towards Graham, stating that he would be less motivated to kill him if they understood his pain.

In Showtime II, while just as friendly, Old Lionel has lost most of his sophistication and is far more violent and brutal, wanting to kill Matt Foster as revenge for him and the other animatronics falling into disrepair over the years.

Trivia[]

Old Lionel is the only animatronic in the series to be a springlock animatronic.
Alongside Raider, Old Lionel is the only animatronic not controlled by Ringmaster.
