~ Omni-Man fulfilling his promise to Homelander as he kills him |
Nolan Grayson, also known as Omni-Man, is one of the two titular villainous protagonists of the DEATH BATTLE episode, "Omni-Man VS Homelander" and the titular main protagonist of the DEATH BATTLE episode, "Omni-Man VS Bardock."
He is a Viltrumite who came to Earth to conquer it under the guise of protecting it. He would later move to Thraxa as its ruler. He is the husband of Debbie Grayson, the father of Mark Grayson, and the arch nemesis of Homelander and Bardock.
He is voiced by Tom Schalk, who also voiced Kool-Aid Man, Dio Brando, SpongeBob SquarePants, and Megatron in the same show.
Personality[]
Unlike his first opponent, Nolan is much calmer and more level-headed in his approach to anything. Even the sight of his wife being dead only brought a calm threat out of him. However, Omni-Man also showcases an extreme when it comes to fighting, such as being more than willing to kill the people in a plane during his fight with Homelander. He even cares for his own son Mark and he will kill anyone that tries to bully him. Despite being a galactic conquering warrior, he is still a better person than the psychotic Homelander, as unlike his opponent, he does care for his family, is capable of forming genuine friendships, and has good intentions. Omni-Man is also serious-minded as he doesn't waste his time going for the kill and wants to finish off his enemies quickly and effectively unlike Homelander who is an egotistical bully who picks on weak humans.
As shown with his battle against his second opponent, Nolan still retains his arrogant attitude, but is evidently more keen on protecting not just his family, but his world too. Additionally, he is shown to be rather emotional, feeling remorse for killing Bardock, presumably knowing he too is a family man and a warrior.
History[]
Omni-Man VS Homelander[]
One Christmas morning, Omni-Man flies to his home to find Homelander in his house. Homelander starts talking to him about how he can't let Omni-Man take his spotlight. He then reveals that he killed Nolan's wife, Debbie and threatens him to get out of his country. Omni-Man gives his own threat that he will feed him his own heart, something that Homelander does not take seriously.
The fight starts, where Homelander and Omni-Man cause tons of property damage, then murder in the case of Homelander lasering a plane down after Nolan attempts to use it to wear him down. Eventually, it becomes clear that Homelander is no match for Omni-Man, when he starts lecturing the villain for being weak. Homelander then attempts to prove this wrong by breaking Nolan's eardrums with his supersonic scream and sending him to the ground so hard, several bystanders are disintegrated in the explosion.
However, Omni-Man is completely unharmed by the attack, leading Homelander to lose his temper over his futile efforts and his true image being exposed. He attempts to use his heat vision on Omni-Man's eyes in a final attempt to kill him, claiming he will also kill the entire neighborhood, everyone Omni-Man knows, and his son, Mark, when he is done with him. The threat towards his son leads to Omni-Man finally deciding to end the fight by breaking Homelander's jaw open, then ripping out his heart and shoving it in his open mouth, fulfilling his promise. He then crushes his head, ending Homelander's reign for good, saving America, Billy and the Boys from trouble, and giving Homie an ironic death, fitting punishment as he flies away emotionally defeated, not caring for Homelander's corpse or the horrified bystanders.
