~ Omori to Boyfriend before Alter |
Omori, stylized as OMORI, is the main protagonist turned antagonist in the 2020 RPG of the same name, and returns as the main antagonist for the Friday Night Funkin' mod Vs. Omori: Blackspace Bossrush.
Appearance[]
Omori is a monochromatic teenager with black empty eyes and black hair, with two strands poking out on top. He wears a black tank top, black and white striped shorts, and black stockings. He holds a knife in his right hand and a microphone in his left. Occasionally, Omori may invert his color scheme.
During the song Guilty!, Omori grows tired of Boyfriend, causing him to turn enraged. His eyes turn white as his face gets covered in shadow. He starts emitting a red glow from his body as he holds onto his knife tighter.
Further into the song, Omori becomes furious, causing his face to be darkened even more, with a single eye visible, glaring at Boyfriend. Omori starts to sway back and forth, as the glow on his body becomes more intense. Omori may occasionally glitch out, causing the white parts of his body to turn to pale reds and yellows. The glow on his body turns brighter.
During his final song Alter, Omori becomes manic. His eyes turn white as he starts grinning widely, with drool coming down his mouth. He now starts glowing yellow as his grip on his knife and microphone becomes even tighter. His microphone has broken down due to his grasp, causing his hand to bleed.
Personality[]
Omori initially comes across as a moody and unfeeling person, as indicated by his utter lack of response of Boyfriend and Girlfriend breaking his laptop. However, he, understandably, starts to get annoyed by Boyfriend's antics before Reverie, and explodes in anger right before Guilty!
Notably, Omori retains his ability to use the Sad Poem skill, revealing that Omori is effective in manipulating other's emotions.
Omori has a heightened sense of sadism when compared to his original game counterpart, gaining enough pleasure from the thought of erasing Boyfriend and Girlfriend from existence that he becomes manic. He also throws insults towards both Boyfriend and Girlfriend before Alter, stating that they're useless and a burden. Unlike Omori's skills, these insults do not affect Boyfriend at all, and just seem to indicate a childish side to Omori.
History[]
Omori's creation is presumably the same as his original counterpart, that being as a coping mechanism made by Sunny after Mari's accidental death by his hands. Afterwards, it's presumed that all of the events before the main game takes place, with Omori venturing out with his friends and throwing those who try to show Sunny the truth into the depths of Black Space.
During some unknown time period within the three days OMORI takes place, Boyfriend and Girlfriend somehow find themselves inside Sunny's mind, where they meet Omori inside White Space after crushing his laptop. Boyfriend challenges Omori to a rap battle, which he obliges to do, leading to the song White Space. Boyfriend starts bragging after the song concludes, leading the the second song, Reverie to begin. Afterwards, Boyfriend pushes Omori to the breaking point, causing him to turn enraged, leading to the song Guilty!
After Guilty! concludes, Boyfriend and Girlfriend are sent off into the depths of Black Space. Whether or not Omori is the one responsible for this is unknown.
During Boyfriend's journey through Black Space, Girlfriend is suddenly kidnapped by a black tendril. Whether or not Omori, Stranger, Something, or some other character in Sunny's mind is responsible is unknown, but by the time Boyfriend is able to make it back to Omori, it's revealed that he somehow has Girlfriend with him. Omori mocks Boyfriend before stating that he'll erase the couple, leading to the song Alter.
During the song, Omori brings the two out of White Space and into his Throne of Hands, where it's revealed that Sunny is trapped there too, stressed out from a previous encounter. Omori starts slashing wildly at Boyfriend in an attempt to kill him, lowering the health of the latter. However, all of this is for naught, as Boyfriend eventually ends up victorious one last time.
The mod starts to come to a close with Sunny waking up, hospitalized due to a conflict in the real world. Following the path of the good ending, Sunny would come to terms with the truth of his part in Mari's death. Due to this, it is presumed that Omori realized that he's no longer needed to withhold the truth any longer, disappearing from Sunny's mind.
Trivia[]
- Omori's voice is actually sampled from "Miku Stomp", a mechanism designed to recreate the voice of the Vocaloid "Hatsune Miku".[1]
