"One-Shot" Wren, is a major antagonist in Glitch Productions' SMG4 franchise.
Formerly a highly skilled Splatfest world champion, he became "forgotten" after he lost his first place title and lost everything that he had. After being invited by a mysterious aid to live out his old glory days in a virtual world that he alone controls, he became a controlling, arrogant and selfish outlaw. Wren went on to kidnap Meggy and her friends before trapping and brainwashing them in the simulation, with the goal of having a never-ending rivalry with her, thus making Meggy permanently traumatized and making him the former idol-turned-arch-rival of Meggy as well as the arch-nemesis of Tari.
His voice clips were provided by Yuki Tsuji, and his voice was provided by Sean Chiplock (who also voiced Mahito on Death Battle).

Biography[]
Past[]
Wren was once a popular and powerful Splatfest world champion. He was known as One-Shot Wren, and was able to take people out of the game with one shot. A little inkling girl named Meggy would meet him, inspired by him. He would give her his hat and tell her to always follow her dreams.
However, Wren started to feel like he was being left behind as he lost many of his Splatfest competitions and started feeling forgotten. He was then invited by a mysterious individual with a note to a building with a simulation, in which he could live out his fantasy as a feared outlaw. Deciding to find the “perfect” rival, he goes after Meggy and the rest of SMG4's gang, kidnapping them and placing them in the simulation.
SMG4 Movie: Western Spaghetti[]
When Mario and Meggy were free from the simulation and chase around, they confront Wren, who was inside a giant tube for the simulation, to which Meggy attempts to shoot him. However, it is revealed that it is simply another simulation as Wren shoots Meggy in the gut, slowly letting her bleed out.
Meggy reawakens, and she finds everyone brainwashed, and she attempts to escape, but is confronted and quickly shot dead by Wren, before the loop restarts. Wren shoots Meggy multiple times over the course of the simulation, lasting an entire month, before Meggy grows insane.
When Meggy and Tari goes missing, Wren attempts to have SMG4 and the group hanged before Meggy confronts them and frees the group, the group attacking Wren’s goons. Wren attempts to fight them back, before Meggy and Tari manages to finally outsmart and kill Wren with a shot to the head, as Tari uses her powers to forcibly send Meggy out of the simulation, allowing the pair to reunite in the real world. This reunion is cut short however by an infuriated Wren, who angrily demands that Meggy return to him. When Tari and Meggy go to free their friends from their imprisonment, Wren summons assets from the simulation in a desperate attempt to stop them, despite Tari's warnings about the massive strain such an action puts on the simulation's machinery. Wren refuses to listen, yet despite his best efforts, Meggy and Tari free the gang and immediately make a break for the exit as the machinery overloads, causing it and the building to start collapsing. Before Meggy leaves however, she looks back at her former idol. With nowhere near enough time to try and save him, a heartbroken Meggy laments how she wishes they could've been friends. Wren simply smiles, and reassures her that at least she made a great rival. As Meggy flees, Wren quietly accepts his fate as the machinery goes critical and explodes, killing Wren and destroying the building. Despite having escaped, this incident would traumatise Meggy to this day.
SMG4 Movie: PUZZLEVISION[]
Wren is mentioned in this movie, Mr. Puzzles does bring up SMG4 Movie: WESTERN SPAGHETTI which brought him into tears, reminding her of how many times One-Shot Wren killed her. This shows that Meggy still has trauma over the ordeal with him and his simulation over a month. This is an example of Wren permanently traumatizing her for years as well as scaring her for life. After the gang enters Channel 999, Meggy furiously bolts at Mr. Puzzles and attempts to punch him for turning her idol into a monster and giving her trauma, but no avail. When Mr. Puzzles gets blasted away by SMG4, it indirectly serves payback for what he has done to Wren and for trapping Meggy and the crew for a month, as well as indirectly giving Meggy permanent trauma.

Trivia[]
- Wren is easily one of the most darkest villains in the entire series due to him trapping the crew in a simulation for a month and mentally traumatizing Meggy, even surpassing Niles in terms of sadism.
- His nickname being "One Shot" Wren could be a pun that he was known for defeating his opponents with a single shot, hence "one-shotting" them.
- One-Shot Wren is the fourth villain to be fully voiced in all his lines.
- Preceding him are SMG3, Niles, Lawyer Kong and Mr. Puzzles.
- Wren also shares some similarities with Niles, both having been corrupted by a mysterious source in a tough spot under a facade of helping them (Mr. Puzzles and the God Box respectively), lost something close and dear to them (Wren’s fame and SMG0's Universe respectively), manipulating and mentally torturing a female main character (Meggy and Melony Melone), and being defeated in the end by accepting their fate from inevitable death.
- Wren is a possible example of toxic competitiveness, as his entire motivation is based around him losing one game and becoming second.
- Wren is possibly inspired by Turbo from Wreck-it-Ralph, as both are cheaters who torture people just because they aren't number 1. However, the difference is while Turbo had a choice at how his life played out from there, as his game console was still active, Wren didn't because his fans abandoned him almost immediately, was wrongfully evicted, and forced to live on the streets before he received his simulation.
- It's unclear whether people in the simulation loving raw potatoes was because of him or not.
