The Oogie Boogie Man is a major antagonist in Joe Venture. He appears in the Third Dimension of the story.
Origins[]
The truth behind Oogie Boogie's origins is still something of a mystery. Some say the Oogie Boogie Man has always lived. That he was never human. That he is the eternal spirit of Halloween.
Others say he was born as a mortal man to mortal parents who made a deal with a demon. That in return for power and wealth, they would give their child to Satan himself. No one really knows the truth. But everyone's scared out of their wits.
When Joebotnik appeared out of nowhere, Oogie was about to kill Joe at first glance and founded Joebotnik's escape plan be inefficient, this was until Joebotnik transformed himself into a bogeyman called "Joogie Boogie" and Joe convinced him that Joe was also a bogeyman who became evil because of having bad circumstances. From that on, Joogie Boogie and Oogie Boogie became the ultimate crime duo who used Joe's nine bullies as their slaves to benefit Oogie's goals since Oogie was touched by Joe's "villainous" backstory of turning evil.
Once Joe's archenemies of nine, were in Joe and Oogie's control, they succeeded in ordering them to bring them the souls and orbs needed to conquer Halloween Town. Joe and Oogie have conquered the universe, destroyed millions of civilizations and are the masterminds behind just about every major catastrophe known to man. (At least in Oogie's eyes anyways, when Joe actually made it a illusion and a simulation for Oogie to believe at first glance)
Oogie saw him with Joe as a duo that should not be trifled with, and will always prove to be a match for anybody who attempts to stand in their way. The two have become so infamous, and their crimes so heinous, that their only real "enemies" are gods, demons and eldritch horrors from beyond time and space.
Personality[]
Oogie Boogie is a dark, twisted and intimidating spirit who takes absolute pleasure in the suffering of other beings. He is sadistic, cruel, and ruthless; showing no remorse for his crimes. He will stop at nothing to achieve his ends, and is not afraid to use brute force to get his way.
On top of being very arrogant and egomaniacal of his intellect, he is also highly intelligent and clever, always being one step ahead of his opponents by approach and action. Oogie Boogie is a formidable foe who will always find a way to triumph in the end. He is an agent of chaos, delighting in spreading his dark, twisted brand of mischief across the universe.

- Even though Oogie is a pure sadist much like his canon counterpart whose sincerity is only done towards other villains like him and revels in making Halloween Town suffer, he still actually shows full respect for Joebotnik in his disguised faux villain persona as "Joogie Boogie". Where, even when Joebotnik defeated him and outfoxed him the whole time within a illusion, he still sees Joebotnik as his best partner in crime for his cooperative actions prior to Joe creating this illusion for Oogie to revel in thinking he conquered every universe imaginable with a dimensional ray Joe invented. Showing how he's actually more respectable and not as petty as one would think. This contrasts many of the villains in the entirety of Joe Venture.
