Biography[]
Shed 17[]
While not much is known about his past, Owen Routh became the second-in-command Sodor Research in Arlesburgh, Sodor in 1965.
During his time working for Sodor Research, Dr. Routh was there when Thomas had been bio-fused into a tank engine and shown to the world in 1979. He had also filmed Gordon's experiment and the explosion that occurred.
Shortly after Thomas discovered what was in Shed 17, Routh left Sodor Research.
Project G-1[]
| “ | He dug his own grave appearing in that documentary as well as working at HiT Logistics. But he didn't see anything wrong in that. And so, just like everyone else, he blamed me for everything, even Smudger. | „ |
| ~ Keith Hartley on Professor Routh |
Two years later, Routh founded HiT Logistics, where he continued numerous projects, but his most ambitious was Project G-1.
Thirty years later, Routh appeared in a documentary detailing the events that led to Thomas discovering his origins. However, the documentary lead to a group of protesters gathering outside of HiT Logistics, and the company decided to erase all evidence, resulting in the deaths of many bio-fused vehicles. As a result, Project G-1 was put on hold, leaving its future uncertain.
Project G-1 then was unintentionally released as the leader of the protesters, Kevin Diesel had forcefully crashed into HiT Logistics as a suicide attack. The result of this had led to Project G-1 awakening and absorbing all the bio-fused vehicle clones in the HiT Logistics building. It then escaped and tried to find the remaining 6,000 tons of bio-fused matter Routh had kept away. It reached its destination, Blue Mountain Quarry, where the matter was kept.
Project G-1 was then stopped by the military using Thomas as bait and using the 6,000 tons of bio-fused matter as a weapon by forming it into a Boulder. Routh meanwhile escaped the blame for all the deaths it caused.
Sodorland[]
Shortly after Project G-1's demise Routh then returned back to Sodor, now called Sodorland as it became its own independent country state from the Mainland. R
He eventually returns to Sodor with Hans Gotze and once Hans died he became the sole member of Sodor Research, as he completed the new project of reviving Hanz's son, Thomas from the dead as physical god called a "human being".
Major N. Hartley then arrived to stop Routh, thinking that the professor is going to revive Adolf Hitler, only for Routh to reveal that he is not doing that, as he tried to tell Hartley that the Thomas is the one who is being revived.
Routh was unfortunately cut off as the massive container with Thomas's new form inside, had cracked open and the acidic fluid inside spilled on Routh.
Routh then painfully died by being sprayed by the acid and his body painfully morphed into a plastic abomination before finally going still and statue-like.
Thomas then emerged from the tube in his new human being form and proceeded to heal the entire world including everyone who had suffered under Routh's experiments, thus finally putting an end to the suffering once and for all.
