PatBob StarPants is a major antagonist in Rarijackk_'s discontinued SpongeBob SquarePants AU, SpongeRot.
After a radioactive zombie infection arrives to Bikini Bottom, a bitten Patrick Star seeks shelter and comfort in his best friend, SpongeBob SquarePants's pineapple house until he succumbed to his hunger. The pair, accepting their demise, decided to hug eachother until the very end. As a result of the hug, their skin rotted and melted into eachother, forming PatBob.

Though their life pre-infection hasn't yet been revealed, it's likely that they lived a similar, if not the same lives as their mainstream counterparts.
At one point after Plankton's radioactive chum mutated the cemetery's fishes, Patrick Star was bitten on his abdomen under unknown circumstances. Seeing his sheer pain and agony, SpongeBob decided to help him and soothe him by letting him stay in his pineapple home.
At around the third stage of infection, Patrick succumbed to his cravings to spread the virus, bitting and infecting SpongeBob. The duo accepted their fate with an embrace that would last until the final stages of their infection, with the side-effect of turning them into a monstruous amalgamation.

PatBob was later found by Sandy, who somehow lured them back into her Tree Dome with the hopes of formulating a cure and saving them in her laboratory. They are now locked inside a glass cage, with Sandy watching over them as she works for the cure. She doesn't have to worry much about them, as they don't really have a mouth as a result of their amalgamation, and therefore can't spread the infection as directly as other infected.[1]
It's implied that their condition is beyond repair, even if a cure was to be found, which is a partial reason for Sandy's descent into madness.[2]

- PatBob's designs brings some interesting implications about both character's transformations.
- Patrick was bitten in a very odd spot, the side of his abdomen, meaning that he could have very well have been a victim of an attack from a smaller fish, or even have been fooled into letting an infected get too close.
- SpongeBob's bite mark is on the back of his head, implying that Patrick had attacked him from behind and thus literally backstabbed him.
- SpongeBob's shoes are entirely gone, as are his feet. It is presumably because they fell off after becoming too brittle. This isn't a major inconvenience, as Patrick seems to be the one in control of the body's movement.
- Patrick was the latest on his infection, being in the third out of five stages,[3] which means that he was the one that melted onto SpongeBob, explaining the pink goo coming out of his orifices.
- SpongeBob's position seems to imply that both he and Patrick were hugging while crouching. After the infection started melting them, SpongeBob's body could have merged to Patrick's upper body because of the size difference, thus giving the effect that he's being lifted.
- PatBob is similar in both design and origin to the Undertale AU character SIXBONES. According to the author, this was done by complete accident, as they didn't even know who SIXBONES was until after releasing the AU.
