| “ | It's poetic, really... (...) I've enjoyed our little games. It's all I have left to do. All I have left that I want to do... and I'm fine with it. This is just the beginning, Jake. Your parents were traitors, and I'm going to enjoy destroying their future, and yours. It's only a matter of time. Brayden will die, Grant will die, Alex will die... and there will be nothing left... but justice. | „ |
| ~ -Patrick, explaining his motives and future plans to Jake. |
Patrick, also known as The Impostor, is a supporting antagonist of The Gaming Saga's first and second seasons. He is a sadistic alien murderer who works under The Conqueror. One native to the planet of Polus, Patrick was forced into hiding after assassinating Jake's parents, the leaders of Mira HQ. After befriending an Impostor named Landon at later witnessing his death at the hands of the Conqueror, Patrick was forced to work under the Five Nights, later tormenting Jake for seemingly no other reason than to satisfy his hatred for the crewmates.
He is voiced by the co-creator of the series, JJnEverything.
Appearance[]
Patrick is a round, bean-shaped astronaut with two stubby legs, a square oxygen pack, and a blue oval for a visor. His suit is colored black, which is the most defining feature. Oftentimes he is seen wielding a knife or gun.
Personality[]
Patrick displays many signs of psychopathy and an overall disregard for the lives of others. He appears to be nothing but an arrogant coward who kills for fun, even if his backstory is somewhat tragic. While his early life is mostly unexplored, he did murder both of Jake's parents as recompence for breaking the Polus treaty, While this may be somewhat justified, Patrick clearly does not regret orphaning Jake and Shiloh, actually doubling down on tormenting them.
While Patrick did seem to want to redeem himself after meeting Landon, this is quickly undone after Landon's death, where he spirals back into a murderous rampage on The Skeld (although the Conqueror put him up to it, Patrick took it upon himself to cause as many casualties as possible.) Patrick relished these murders, and continued killing innocent Crewmates on Polus as well. He shows no regret for killing these people, even when faced with the consequences of killing them.
When faced with danger or defeat, Patrick almost always flees. He is known to run away from sticky situations and has abandoned his minions and supposed friends many times. When speaking to the Conqueror, Patrick shows complete submission, and this is likely out of fear for what the Conqueror would do to him if he should rebel. While he does at first seem keen on reviving Landon via the Conqueror's plan, it is unknown if this is genuine as he does not mention it to Jake when explaining his motives. He does not seem to regret his current situation either.
Patrick also harbors an immense hatred of Jake, actively terrorizing the latter whenever he has the opportunity. He openly reveals that he had killed Jake's parents to Jake, and later mutilated him and used him as a test subject. Patrick enjoys Jake's pain and expresses his goal of killing all of Jake's friends in the future. This is likely due to Patrick's grudge over Jake's parents breaking the treaty, even if Patrick has already killed them. He openly claims to Jake that he will "enjoy destroying [his parents'] future, and [Jake's].", implying that he wants to ruin Jake's parents's legacy at any cost.
Trivia[]
- Patrick has the most appearances out of any secondary antagonist from The Gaming Saga's first season (other than El Chip).
- He is "both Pure Evil and Broken", according to JJnEverything.
- This is likely due to the fact that, while being a sadistic murderer, his origin and life are somewhat tragic and his murder of Jake's parents can be justified as deserved.
