Patriot Front is one of the antagonists of the Hearts of Iron 4 mod, The Fire Rises. It is a Fascist organization that seeks the union and racial purification of the United States.

In the convulsive landscape of “The Fire Rises,” the Patriot Front emerges as a deeply complex fascist organization rooted in a radical and distorted vision of American identity.
Thomas Rousseau, its founder and charismatic leader, conceives of the organization as a “national renaissance” movement that seeks to purify America of what he considers degenerative influences. His ideology combines extreme white nationalism with a selectively interpreted American mythology, where he positions himself as a spiritual heir of the founding fathers. The internal structure of the Patriot Front reflects a surprising political complexity. Although they officially present themselves as a unified movement under the National Fascist Party (Blue Shirts), internally they are deeply divided. Different factions constantly compete to define ideological direction: some advocate a more moderate and pragmatic fascism, while others push for increasingly extremist policies.
Their expansion strategy is meticulously calculated. Rather than openly presenting themselves as a fascist movement, they use euphemistic language designed to attract sympathizers. They speak of “protecting traditional values,” “defending American heritage,” and “fighting the liberal academic agenda,” hiding their true totalitarian intentions under a seemingly patriotic rhetoric. The Patriot Front's “Cultural Police” becomes an instrument of ideological terror. They systematically suppress any cultural expression they deem “degenerative”: pro-LGBTQ+ content, works celebrating racial diversity, feminist demonstrations, or any narrative that challenges their supremacist vision.
A particularly symbolic moment is their reenactment of Nazi book burnings, where they gather artifacts from citizens in occupied territories and destroy them on huge pyres, representing their willingness to erase any narrative that contradicts their ideology.
Their territorial control begins in Connecticut, but their ambitions are national. They establish labor camps for “enemies of the regime,” using forced labor as a method of repression and economic reconstruction. Each conquered territory is immediately subjected to radical restructuring: educators with progressive perspectives are arrested, minorities are systematically marginalized, and the constitution is rewritten to institutionalize their racial hierarchy.
Paradoxically, they use symbols of national unity to justify their fascist project. Their reunification anthem is “The Battle Hymn of the Republic,” a song historically associated with the Union forces that fought against slavery - an ironic contrast to their supremacist ideology.
The Patriot Front's relationship with other far-right groups is tactical and volatile. They collaborate strategically with some Republicans and other militias, but always with the conviction that eventually they will be the ones to define America's future. Their alliance with the National Socialist Movement and the Atomwaffen Division is fundamentally unstable, aware that sooner or later they will have to compete for ideological control.
Rousseau himself personifies this messianic vision. He sees himself as a new George Washington, convinced that he is cleansing and redeeming the American dream. His narrative is a mixture of foundational mythology, white supremacism and an obsessive nationalism that selectively rewrites history to justify his totalitarian project.
