I'm innocent...
~ The Pichador while being held down by Rezende.

The Pichador[3] is a minor antagonist in rezendeevil's 2017 first live-action horror YouTube series Invasor: A Série (Invader: The Series).

He is one of The Invader's sidekicks who lasts a longer time than the other right-hands The Invader has, but ironically with the least number of actions. He acts innocent at his first appearance, but was a major boost for The Invader's malicious intentions by kidnapping Rezende's younger brother João and to kill him as part of The Invader's scheme to psychologically torment Rezende.

Synopsis[]

Prior to his first appearance, he used to regularly vandalize buildings with graffiti paints. But at an unknown point, possibly ever since Pedro, Dexter and Adriano tried to set up a trap to The Invader, he becomes one of The Invader's goons who would assist him in his schemes against Rezende.

As he claims in his first appearance, he was by himself when a mysterious hooded and masked man called him to his shack and tells him he would pay him R$ 200,00 (200 reais[4]) if he went to their house to scare them. Whether or not he was telling the truth, it still confirmed that he wasn't the actual person who was continuously invading Pedro's house and threatening them. The Invader had sends him there in order to trick the dwellers since he had heard their plan to capture him via a walkie talkie left in Pedro's office by Virgínia.

Initially, neither of the trio believe his words, but as they keep interrogating him, he displays more signs that he actually isn't The Invader, like him constantly displaying fear with his predicament and begging the residents for mercy due to his innocence, contrasting Rezende's knowledge about The Invader's fearless nature. Understandable enough, the trio keeps distrusting and questioning him, even thinking he was lying about everything he was saying, but some information he gave them started making sense to them like puzzle pieces finally fitting together. He says the guy called him over to a shack in the São Cristóvão road, which was the same road as the abandoned orphanage the residents have visited earlier that day, and says the man sent him there because he said someone tried to give him "wrong information", leading the trio to realization that The Invader somehow found out about their plan. Then they threaten the Pichador to go away and never so much as get close to their house again or they would call the police on him. Before going, he asks for his glasses back, but Adriano doesn't let him have it back and forces him to go.

After some time, The Invader decides to attack Rezende again by kidnapping his younger adoptive brother João and threaten death to him should he not follow his orders thoroughly, and called the Pichador back to hold João hostage in his hideout, with him tied up to a chair and pointing a heavy gun at him. While the trio was out looking for materials to record a fun video, The Invader records a video of the Pichador pointing the gun at his tied-up brother and left it in display on Rezende's computer in his office, which they eventually see and thus get desperate for João's safety. Adriano also recognizes that the one holding João hostage was the Pichador himself, who they then regret having let go the night they caught him when planning to capture The Invader.

While Rezende meets The Invader, Dexter and Adriano stay in the house and eventually call Cadet Rodrigues to help them find a way to save João, but without going after Pedro, since The Invader threatened to kill him if Pedro didn't meet him alone. However, Adriano and Rodrigues find out that the place they were keeping João was The Invader's own hideout, which Adriano recognized thanks to the force panel they saw while inspecting The Invader's hideout a few days earlier. With that, they rush over to The Invader's shack to save João.

When they get there, Rodrigues surprises them by shooting the Pichador, who falls over and squirms on the ground until he finally succumbs to his wound and dies. With his death, João was able to get out unharmed and The Invader's plan to kill him had failed through and through. Later, The Invader notices that his plan had failed since he noticed the strap he tied up João with didn't have any blood stains. The Pichador's body wasn't there anymore either, implying an ambulance had already taken it after Dexter, Rodrigues and Adriano left with João to safety.

Personality[]

Despite having helped The Invader kidnap João and hold him hostage with a seemingly intimidating look, his real personality is still vague due to how scared and frightened he was in his first appearance, also leaving questionable why he was acting like that while holding João hostage. Reasons could be either he only acted like that because The Invader told him to to make the dwellers think he was really willing to kill João, or he was actually displaying sadism while threatening João, therefore leaving unknown whether the Pichador is an actual criminal with genuinely malicious intentions or just a victim acting in accordance to an actual dangerous person such as The Invader.

In the beginning, however, he did seem nice and displayed no intention to harm anyone despite being a vandal. Also because he explains that the only reason he invaded Rezende's house was because The Invader had offered him money and that he was in need of it. This is a strong indication that he isn't in fact a bad person, but was just put in an unfortunate situation by a sadist, which also implies that he was only acting condescendingly in the video due to The Invader having probably told him to do so. But then again, nothing is confirmed, and the fact he is a criminal who's in need of money and shows to be willing to do illegal stuff to obtain it, just like he committed home invasion the first time, his true personality is still questionable nonetheless.

Trivia[]

  • Although having a very short influence throughout the series, he was one of the major causes which increased Rezende's hatred for The Invader for helping The Invader in nearly killing Rezende's adoptive younger brother, who was just 15 years old.
  • It's highly implied that the guy who played the Pichador in the series is also a youtuber, however, further information remain unknown.
  • There is no english translation for the portuguese term "pichador". The closest translation would be "graffiti vandal" since the term describes vandals who use graffiti to illegally paint or write on walls in the streets or on the side of houses and buildings.
