They are a race of artificial monstrosities who originally were originally Warrior-Servants before being convert into monsters which while gain an immunity to the Flood and their corruption but lower in numbers as they reproduce in numbers from human essences. Following the Didact's release, the Prometheans became members of the Storm Covenant with a purpose to conquer the galaxy and assimilate humanity from the Composer.
Biography[]
Past[]
The Prometheans were originally a caste and the high-rank members among the Forerunner Ecumeme who were led to fight against the Ancesters during the Human-Forerunner War. When the Forerunner-Flood War was commenced and was put to a brink of insanity by the Gravemind, the Didact mutates himself in a failed attempt to reach an immunity against the Flood. In conclusion, the Didact converted the Prometheans into a race of monsters with an immunity to both the Flood infection and corruption due to being digitized souls as monstrous machines. Having destroyed some of the Flood-infested ships, the Didact decides to add their numbers due to only being a few and uses the Composer to target and digitize the humans on Installation 07.
The Didact was then knocked out by the Librarian and taken to Requiem where he puts him in a Cryptum to spend years of mediation to heal him from his insanity and under guard by the Prometheans whom she reprogrammed to safeguard the Cryptum. With life destroyed and the seeding proceeded to repopulate the galaxy, the Promethean experienced a mutation that resulted in the Knights to expand their variety as they display more human faces in the standard Knights with a loss of their technorganic micro-driver arms and both the Watchers and Crawlers having transformed into being upgraded versions of themselves with the Crawlers being smoother with the Primes in gold and the Watchers resembling more of a similarity between a Monitor and a standard Sentinel.
Halo 4: Genesong Cut[]
Years after the Forerunner-Flood, the Spartan II Petty Officer John-117, Mster Chief, was stranded on the shield world's surface after having been pulled in to the planet with the Storm Covenant establishing bases all over Requiem. When Master Chief reaches to find a human ship reaching Requiem, the Promethean Knights surround Master Chief and one made an intimidating threat to leave before teleporting. Master Chief escaped to a portal where he battled against the creatures to deactivate each pylon and later the Storm Covenant who came to release the DIdact. When Master Chief accidentally released the Didact, both the Prometheans and the Storm Covenant watch as the Didact uses the Cryptum to summon a shockwave and exits to retake control of the Prometheans, both them and the invaders bowing before their leader.
With the Prometheans now part of the Stofm Covenant, they join the assault on the Infinity after its impact on the planet and attacked several marines in a nearby jungle while managing to have some of them assimilated into soldiers offscreen starting with the Promethean Soldier Prefects despite having yet to reclaim the Composer. Master Chief fights his way through the monsters and noticed one of them already blown up by a grenade from a Marine he stabbed, leaving behind his Promethean Vision. Master Chief uses it to see their presence and continues to fight the monsters until he regroups with the UNSC to reach a Pelican to fight off the Storm Covenant to enter the Infinity and reactivating the defenses to keep the Didact and the Storm Covenant off the ship.
The Prometheans later regrouped with the other Storm Covenant forces as they reach the Libriarian's shrine as the Didact had the Particle Cannoms activated and assembled an attack fleet if the Particle Cannons are to fall. Two of the Particle Cannons were destroyed, the Storm Covenant manage to succeed in crippling the cannon, prompting Master Chief and Cortana to finish the job battling through tne Storm Covenant and the Prometheans to deactivate tbe network. Upon trying to reach Cortana after she had vanished, Master Chief comes across the essence of the Librarian where he learned about the Human-Forerunner War, the Flood and the Didact's motives on Composer. Just then, the Didact had summoned the Prometheans emerge to intercept the Librarian only for her to give him an immunity to the Composer. This resulted in a squad of Prometheans to ambush Master Chief onlynto fall by the hands of the Spartan shortly after.
With the Gravity Well destroyed and the Infinity proves no threat to the Didact, the Prometheans were stationed at the communication towers to guard the Didact. Master Chief fought his way through and had deactivated the towers, but the Didact was aware of their plan and has the capability to use the Cryptum to summons the shockwave if both him and Cortana get too close to it. By then, the Didact led the Storm Covenant to invade Invanoff Station where he succeeded in capturing the Composer and used it on the humans within the station, composing them with an exception of Master Chief due to his immunity. Master Chief follows the Didact back to Earth as the Mantle's Approach is engaged by the UNSC and the Master Chief destroys each Particle Cannon from the Infinity to make an entrance. The Didact manages to prevent them from having the Broadsword reach him.
Suggesting for Plan B, Master Chief carries the havoc where he fought against the Prometheans and the newly additioned Promethean Hybrids who were Sangheili only to have them assimilated with their arms more mechanical. They attempted to stop Master Chief from reaching the Composer, but were pushed back to stop him from disabling the shields. With the shields deactivated, the Didact manages to activate the Comooser regardless of being explsed and shoots it at Earth, starting with New Phoenix. With the console Cortana ismlink to destroyed, Master Chief fought through a duo of Promethean Commanders with a help of Cortana's essences to reach him. Master Chief, having reached the Didact, attempts to shoot but the tyrannical Promethean is shown to be durable to weapons fire and strikes him down, lifting him to toss him to the Composer. Cortana manages to disrupt the Didact's armor shields, forcing him to fight in his spacecraft with a Promethean Knight Commander coming to support the Didact only to be killed by Cortana to add ammunition for the Master Chief to shoot at the ship. With the spacecraft destroyed and the Didact retreats presumably to the Domain, the Spartan activates the havoc to destroy the Mantle's Approach, killing the Prometheans onboard and preventing the full digitization of humanity with New Phoenix being the only city to have the population converted.
