Prototype Fredbear is the titular antagonist of the game Five Nights at Prototype Fredbear's and serves as the leader of the other characters.

He is a scrapped animatronic created by Jack Kennedy, but he became evil due to a curse in 1988 at KennedyTech Creations, Inc. He leads The Vengeful Ones alongside Shadow Fredbear.

Prototype Fredbear is a demonic enemy that Joseph (or Zach) encounters throughout the series. He, along with his allies Lolbit, Springbonnie, and Bonnet, aims to kill them. He believes that they are Jack Kennedy and harbors a strong hatred towards him for releasing the curse in 1988 and being responsible for the death of Anthony (Shadow Fredbear), despite Kennedy's innocence. The true cause was the demon known as Shadow Afton.

After the events of Five Nights at Prototype Fredbear's 2, Joseph's World INC. was destroyed, crushing Prototype Fredbear in the process. Consequently, he left his body and entered the body of Joseph, leading to the events of Five Nights at Prototype Fredbear's 3.

Personality[]

Prototype Fredbear is depicted as the angriest spirit compared to Springbonnie, Lolbit, and Bonnet. He shows respect for animals and children, but he harbors a deep hatred for adults.

In contrast, he has a more heroic side in the cartoon versions compared to his game portrayal. In these drawings, he is depicted as a loving father and a supportive brother to Springbonnie and Lolbit. However, he still shares his game counterpart’s abusive traits, frequently bullying and using Shadow Fredbear as a punching bag.

Despite this, Prototype Fredbear loves Shadow Fredbear and includes him in his adventures. He also appears as a character in the Prototype Fredbear's Ask Series on Amino, Tumblr, and DeviantArt.

Appearance[]

Prototype Fredbear is a robotic, anthropomorphic yellow bear with square teeth, thin black eyebrows, a purple top hat, and two small half-circle ears. He has cyan eyes, a squarish muzzle, a wide torso, a large round belly with matching buttons, and a purple bowtie. His head is blockier, and when cursed, his eyes turn pure white and glow, making him far more violent.

In the second game, his appearance remains the same, but he now has permanently glowing white eyes, cracks on his face, blood trickling from his jaw, and an angrier expression. The version seen in Five Nights at Prototype Fredbear's 3 is not Prototype Fredbear but Joseph from the previous games controlled by the original spirit.

Trivia[]

Prototype Fredbear’s appearance is inspired by the FNaF fangame series Five Nights at Wario's.
Despite not being an animal killer, many accounts of the urban legend describes him as a "cat kidnapper" responsible for their deaths.
The music played on his music box is "Streets of Cairo," specifically the version by Dan W. Quinn.
He does not harm animals or children; he only attacks adults.
