~ Purin's Pokédex entry |
Purin is one of the antagonists of the mod Friday Night Funkin' Lullaby. They[1] are a creepy version of a Jigglypuff that's seemingly based a popular piece of formerly unknown artwork by the artist going by the twitter handle of gaga_kuzuko. It fights Pico in its eponymous song.
Purin was once a normal Jigglypuff who was an assistant to Nurse Joy, who it seems to deeply care for. However, after Nurse Joy took her own life after she fell into depression and getting blamed for not being able to save some of the Pokémon, Purin would try to "put itself to sleep", only for it to being resurrected into a "zombie mutation" who was mute, only being able to sing by changing its appearance in a creepy manner.
It would kill anyone and anything that gets too close to it by putting them to sleep and ripping their skin off before sucking their souls up to create "ring eyes" to keep its beloved Nurse Joy somewhat alive.
Appearance[]
Purin mostly resembles a regular Jigglypuff, though rather than being pink, Purin's hue is a dark gray, while its eyes are black, its pupils red, and occasionally cries blood. It's also capable of horribly distorting its face into far more horrific shapes, such as by moving its eyes around, growing a number of teeth, or holding its face open with additional hands, revealing a pile of bloody skulls within.
Story[]
Background[]
Purin was an assistant and Pokémon to a Nurse Joy at the Pokémon Center. But as Nurse Joy became increasingly depressed and blamed for being unable to take care of some of the Pokémon, some of them dying in her care, along with the area becoming less active as a place for injured Pokémon to be healed, led her to decide and take her own life. However, wishing to not sadden Purin at her death, Nurse Joy slowly began to push it away before she eventually hung herself.
Purin, however, ended up finding out what happened. As a result, they decided to "put itself to sleep", but in unknown ways, they then came back to life by becoming a "zombie mutation", changing their appearance and causing them to be unable to speak. Over time, they learned to sing again by listening to Hypno sing in the forest, changing their appearance to sing.
These days, anything that gets too close to Purin is put to sleep and has its skin ripped out, which often ends up being lost children. Purin then sucks the souls of his victims to create "ring eyes" to keep Nurse Joy somewhat alive. It manages to keep her alive and, at her request, has brought all the Pokemon that died under her care back to life as well.
Despite the actions it does, it isn't naturally malicious. Although it is aware of what it is doing, they just don't think before they act on them.
Purin[]
In one night, Pico enter the abandoned Pokemon Center, where Purin lives, behind weapons (to save Boyfriend and Girlfriend from Hypno's clutches). But he can't find any weapons, only Purin, who tries to get Pico to sleep. The two start a rap battle, in which in the middle of it, Pico is put to sleep with it's singing, killing him. However, Pico's spirit would return to finish the rap battle against Purin. In the end, Nurse Joy would do a jumpscare.

Botplay Message: hyperrealistic? / do NOT stick your dick in those holes Purin is Jigglypuff's japanese name. Though it can also be translated to Pudding as well. |
Trivia[]
- It's inferred that Purin takes place in the same abandoned Pokémon Center that is seen in the background of Safety Lullaby and Left Unchecked, as well as roughly at the same time.
- Although Purin takes some inspiration from the ARG Purin's Lullaby, the Purin seen in the mod has it's own story.
- Though difficult, Purin could be captured like a normal Pokémon, but doing so would result in its death. This is because it has such a strong bond with Nurse Joy, that if one of them were to disappear or die, they would both vanish from existence.
- Purin is unable to talk.
- Their face twists and distorts is due to Purin lacking vocal chords, with the contorts being how it sings.
- Hypno was originally planned to appear in Purin during Hell Mode. It would've appeared in shadow outside the window, having stuck its arm through and added the pendulum mechanic to the song.
- Originally, Boyfriend was intended to sing against Purin rather than Pico.
- The skulls in Purin's mouth are supposed to be children skulls.
- What exactly "ring eyes" are is unclear, with the only explanation being that they're "probably the only thing you cannot grab, it exists but it is not physical".
- The person hanging in the background of Purin, Nurse Joy, was meant to jumpscare the player at the end of the song.
- The song "Purin" was originally meant to be a cinematic event that would have many things come into play at different sections of the song. It was "basically a live action story with assets".
- It is mentioned that Purin is hard to catch, but it would also die when they were to get caught.
- Purin Pulls people by singing in different forms, making others around the area interested, usually lost kids in the woods.
- While it does have a tragic story, it is rather debatable due to the fact that it kills children even though they have nothing to do with its tragedy. However, it does seem to genuinely care for its owner Nurse Joy.
