Queen Chrysalis is one of the secondary villains in the Character What series. She is one of Shadow Aaron's right-hand villains.
Personality[]
Much like in the show, Chrysalis is sadistic, cruel, merciless and manipulative Changeling whose primary goals are feeding her Changeling colony and gaining power for herself. She is highly intelligence and most skilled than the rest of her species, as she used her powers to disguise herself as Princess Cadance and easily convinced everyone except Twilight Sparkle and Shadow Joe into believing she is the real Cadance, but not bothering to act like the real Cadance. However, she used her disguise to make Twilight's friends (except Shadow Joe) and family turn against her while taunting her both during and after imprisoning Twilight in the Canterlot's underground caves. Despite her cruel nature, she is very loyal to Shadow Aaron despite his abusive treatment toward her.
Character What: Hero Force[]
In Villainess Meeting, Queen Chrysalis was with the some of the other female villains having in Sunset Shimmer's meeting like Cruella De Vil, Maleficent, Ursula, Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, Catwoman, Queen La, Belladonna, Mirage (Aladdin), Darla Dimple, Sedusa and Delilah (Krypto the Superdog). She is also seen having Delilah sitting on her back, which is ironic since they are voiced by the same actress Kathleen Barr.
Character What: Chronicles[]
In Take Grandma Llama to Hero Day, when Shadow Joe and Grandma Llama sneak into the new villain hideout, Grandma Llama accidentally enters a room with Queen Chrysalis, Delilah, and Roodaka. This scene is also play for a joke as all four characters are voiced by Kathleen Barr. Queen Chrysalis also questions Grandma Llama how she sneaks into the base before reporting this to Shadow Aaron.
In Bambi The Red-Nosed Deer, Queen Chrysalis planned an invasion with her army of Changelings on Christmas Town and feed off of the love from every citizen, due to their love for the most famous Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. However, Chrysalis soon realized that Shadow Joe and his friends arrive at same time as her. Knowing it will be impossible to launch her attack with Shadow Joe around and need some form of distraction to lure him away from Christmas Town, without Shadow Joe knowing about her whereabouts in the town, so he will not interfere. Fortunately for her, Ronno has unintentional aid Chrysalis to get Shadow Joe away from Christmas Town by manipulating Arrow to say hurtful things to Bambi to make him feel depressed, causing the young prince to run out of Christmas Town in tears, thus forcing Shadow Joe to search for Bambi in a terrified snowstorm (created by Shadow Aaron in attempt to ruin Christmas), unintentionally leaving Christmas Town at her mercy. Chrysalis prepares her invasion now that Shadow Joe is out of the way, she orders the Changlings to attack Christmas Town and everyone in sight. Ronno revealed himself to Chrysalis and begs her to spare Faline because he want her for himself, but Chrysalis refuses, since Faline is also filled with love in her, much to Ronno's anger. Shadow Joe returns to Christmas Town with Bambi and orders Chrysalis to call out the invasion, to which she refuses, and transforms into the Crystal Onix and tackles Shadow Joe with full force. Shadow Joe recovers quickly and transforms into Toolboxx and jumps on her head and started drilling on her head, causing her great pain. Chrysalis then transforms back into her normal form and shoot magical beams at Shadow Joe (still as Toolboxx) but was ineffective against Toolboxx's strong armor. Shadow Joe then transforms into Omni-Enhanced Overflow and blasted Chrysalis away with his water cannons, but Chrysalis refuses to give up, so Shadow Joe create a massive snowball to capture Chrysalis along with every Changlings and afterwards send them flying out of Christmas Town.
Character What: New Adventures[]
Queen Chrysalis serves as the secondary antagonist of the eighth series, assisting Jafar into carrying out his plans of seeking revenge on one of the Piplings (Yojojo) being responsible for Shadow Aaron's demise. Despite Shadow Aaron's cruel treatment toward her, Chrysalis vows that she will avenge Shadow Aaron and make Yojojo pay the ultimate penalty, which involves death. Chrysalis comforts Sunset Shimmer who was still saddened of losing Shadow Aaron, advising her that vengeance is the right path to increase someone's hatred and turn it into a weapon to help focus their anger on the enemy.
Character What: Hero Times[]
In Return of Friendship, Queen Chrysalis become more obsessive and determinate to destroy Yojojo to avenge Shadow Aaron and plans to use her Changeling army in a war against Shadow Joe and his subjects. After her changeling army cowardly retreated from the battle, Chrysalis refuses to accept to defeat and final attempt to avenge Shadow Aaron, lashes to attack Yojojo only to be knocked down a cliff by Twilight Sparkle. Twilight manages to grab onto the edge of the cliff, and Chrysalis manages to grab onto Twilight's tail, attempting to drag her down with her into the fast-flowing river. However, Shadow Joe holds onto one of Twilight's hooves and pull her up to safety, but Chrysalis losing her grip in the last second and falls screaming to presumed death, much to Twilight Sparkle's and Shadow Joe's horror.
Character What: Villains Revenge[]
In Take Them Down, Queen Chrysalis was one of the few villains participating in Shadow Aaron's plan to ambush Shadow Joe and eliminate the Piplings for causing Shadow Aaron's demise in The End of Shadow Aaron.
In The Return of Queen Chrysalis Part 1, It is revealed that Queen Chrysalis survived in the fast-flowing river from her previous appearance. She was with Shadow Aaron still as a stature (from Nightmare Moon Returns) in the crystal caves below Canterlot. She plans to seek revenge on Twilight Sparkle from the last encounter, and Shadow Joe for turning Shadow Aaron into stone by invading Canterlot with her Changeling army. She is also shown to had Discord on her side to assist her in her plot to invade Canterlot and take revenge on her enemies.
Character What: The Last Stand[]
Queen Chrysalis makes her final appearance in the episode My Little Pony III, she along with Tirek and Cozy Glow successfully turned pony tribes against ease other so there will be no pony to help Twilight Sparkle and her friends. Fed up waiting with "Grogar"s next plan, they decide to finally unlock the magic in the Grogar's Bewitching Bell to make themselves all-powerful and betrayed "Grogar by using his own bell to drain his power. Much to their surprise, Grogar was actually Discord in disguise. After rendering powerless and exposed. Discord escapes from the lair. Cozy wondered should they go after him, but Chrysalis suggested that without his magic, Discord is not considered a threat at all. Chrysalis decides to finally exact her revenge on Starlight Glimmer for making her Changeling kingdom turn against her. Starlight had no match against Chrysalis, so she defeated and encased Starlight in a cocoon. Later, Chrysalis join with Tirek to save Cozy when the Mace Six were ready to defeat her once and for all. After explaining to Twilight that no pony with come to help since they had cause Unicorn, Pegasi and Earth pony against one another, they combine their magic to shoot a powerful magic blast at Twilight, but the other Mace 5, Shadow Joe, Celestia, Luna Spike and Discord used a bit of rubble to hold back so Twilight can escape. Once Chrysalis and her following allies imprison Twilight's friends and celebrate their victory, but they engage an argument about who get to use magic that they stole. Discord mocks Tirek into blasting him with magic, which Discord reflect the blast a bit of crystal rock, and Starlight freed from her cage, who released the other Mace 5, Shadow Joe, Spike, Celestia, Luna, and the Pillars of Equestria. Shadow Joe, Spike and other Mace 5 escaped to find Twilight while the princesses, Starlight, Discord and pillars stay behind to fight off Chrysalis, Tirek and Cozy. The Windigos make their return to Equestria as result of the three villains turning pony races against ease other, Chrysalis sees a perfect opportunity to use the Windigos to freeze Equestrisa and soon putting surviving ponies into her debt once she vanquished them. But Cozy alert both Chrysalis and Tirek that Twilight and her friends return and on their way to stop the villains once and for all. The three villains confront the heroes and engage a fierce brawl, but Chrysalis realize that they were trying to take the bell from them, so she went to Spike and Rarity and try to blast them. Chrysalis orders them to surrender and threaten to pluck off Spike's wings and Tirek to rip Shadow Joe (who powers were drain by the Bewitching Bell during the fight with Cozy Glow) apart. The Mace Six immediacy give themselves up to save both Spike and Shadow Joe. The trio were ready to finish off Twilight and her friends with a powerful magic blast to finally get their vengeance and rule over Equestria. However, the Mace Six were saved by a magic barrier generated by unicorns, and an army of their allies join the battle against the villains. After the fight, as punishment for their crimes, Celestia, Luna and Discord turned Chrysalis along with Cozy and Tirek in stone forever, ending their reign of terrors on Twilight and friends, meaning they will never harmed anyone ever again.
Fate[]
In Villains Turn Evil, Shadow Joe revealed that they place in Canterlot sculpture garden similar to Discord when he was turn to stone. Shadow Aaron was also aware about what happened to them, but he chooses not to released them from their stone prison.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Shape-Shifting: Like all Changlings, Chrysalis can transform into anybody she chooses, mimicking their voices and appearance perfectly. However, her limit is she still regain her personality and her magic aura remains green coloured.
- Flight: Chrysalis can fly into the air using her insect-like wings.
- Enhanced Durability: Chrysalis along with her Changlings was able to survive being blasted away thousands of feet and directly land on the ground without serious injury, she survives being wasted away by a fast-flowing river, and also survives the explosion of her throne unharmed. She is possibly imperious to nearly all forms of damage.
- 360-Dergee Body Part Rotation: Chrysalis can rotate her body parts, including her neck to full 360 degrees without feeling pain.
- Love Absorption: Chrysalis can drain the love out of any living creature to feed herself, leaving his victims weak and frail. The more love she consumes enhances her magic as well.
- Changling Magic: Chrysalis' magic is more powerful than other Changlings, and rivalling Alicorns like Princess Celestria, Princess Luna and Twilight Sparkle.
- Green Flames: Chrysalis can produce green flames to surround her opponents.
- Reflection Manipulation:
- Telekinesis: Chrysalis can manipulate objects using her magic.
- Magical Bean Emission: Queen Chrysalis can project powerful magic beams from her horn.
- Mind Control: Chrysalis can manipulate the minds and thoughts of anyone around her by using a hypnotic spell, as demonstrated with Shining Armor.
- Goo Generation: Chrysalis can spit sticky green slime out of her mouth to trap her targets.
