Rebecca Hughes (also known as Michelle Smith) is the secondary antagonist RedstonePrime’s Turning Red fanfic trilogy, serving as one of the three overarching antagonists (alongside Mike Smith and Xióngmāo shāshǒu) of both Turning Red: Secrets of the Panda, and Turning Red: The Panda Conspiracy, and the secondary antagonist of Turning Red: A Demon's Revenge. She is a member of Mei's family, who happens to be serial killer and servant of Xióngmāo shāshǒu, posing as a benevolent agent of the PCA in the process. She acts as the wife of Mike Smith, helping her master manipulate him in order to achieve their goals.

Some time prior to the events of the trilogy, Rebecca became devoted to the red panda demon Xióngmāo shāshǒu, becoming his most loyal follow. She then (under orders of Harvey Vaugn) killed Sarah’s mother simply for the fact she didn’t agree with Harvey’s views and methods, causing Sarah to become an orphan with a vendetta against the giant red pandas.
Michelle is first seen at Mei's house, where she and Mike warn Mei, Sarah, and Jin that they aren't safe from the PCA. She is instructed by Mike to keep them safe in case any agents come by, and to not let any of them out of her sight, especially Mei. As Mei goes to school, she stops her from leaving, reminding her she needs an escort to keep her safe. She then drives Mei up to school and watches her go inside.
As Mei is talking with her friends in the school cafeteria, Michelle (in the disguise of a mysterious woman) attacks them, prompting all but Mei to flee. She comes close to killing Mei until Sarah intervenes, the three of them engaging in a two-on-one fight, with her revealing that she now wields the soul slayer. Michelle almost manages to take them both down, but is quickly disarmed. She then picks up her gun and leaves after telling them they won't be able to win.
As Mei and Sarah leave the police station after learning Mike Smith's true colours, they meet up with Michelle again, learning about Mike and how they were attacked at school earlier that day. She tells them she'll run an investigation into Mike and that he'll be brought to justice once she discovers the truth before leaving them. However, Michelle (in disguise) goes to the Lee Family Temple and holds Jin hostage, and tells Mei, Sarah, and In that they are to leave Toronto immediately and not return, warning them that she can have all three of them arrested for trespassing, telling them that the temple is now property of the PCA. As they leave, she tells them she plans on having the temple razed to the ground in order to make room for houses or shops. After Mei, Jin, and Sarah have left, she phones Mike, telling him they can continue with their work.
Michelle meets up with the trio again at the library after hearing them claim nothing can stop Xióngmāo shāshǒu, telling them that the Soul Slayer can kill him. They then come up with a plan on how to retrieve the sword and stop the demon while rescuing Ming in the process, with Michelle acting as a double agent for them. When Mei tells her she's worried for her friends, she tells Mei not to worry as she's already phoned authorities to keep them safe.
The four of them travel to the police station in hopes of finding Ming. When they get there, they notice the place is deserted, and use this to their advantage so they can rescue Mei's mum. After rescuing Mei's mum from captivity, four of them (with Jin waiting outside) are confronted by police officers and PCA agents, who have them all arrested and taken to the PCA Headquarters.
At the PCA headquarters, Mei, Sarah, and Ming are confronted by Mike Smith while tied up on their chairs, noticing Michelle isn't tied up like they are. After Mei asks how the PCA knew where they were, Michelle (disguised as the mysterious woman) tells them she knew all about the plan, exposing herself as an agent for the PCA in the process and revealing she'd been setting them up the whole time. She then reveals her true identity as Rebecca Hughes, a wanted killer whom Mei had encountered several times before during earlier confrontations with the PCA.
She then reveals to Sarah that she was responsible for killing both Hannah and Harvey Vaugn (Sarah’s parents), proceeding to mock her over it and causing her to snap. Rebecca, seeing how enraged her opponent is, engages Sarah, who had been released from her constraints by Mike Smith, in a duel, coming close to killing her, but is disarmed (literally) by Mei and shot in the back by Sarah. Sarah then transforms into her red panda form, grabs Rebecca and throws her into a large computer screen, fatally electrocuting her.
