~ Red Impostor after killing Girlfriend in Sabotage (V4) |
The Red Impostor is the titular character and a major antagonist of the Friday Night Funkin mod, VS Impostor.
Serving as the main opponent of the first week, Red is characterized as being rather lacking in terms of intelligence, being unable to load a gun, and making very poor attempts at concealing his true identity. He is also the partner of the Green Impostor.
Appearance[]
The Red Impostor is a red bean-shaped astronaut with floating hands. In the mod, he holds his microphone in their left hand, and wields a gun in his right hands which changes into a knife in their up pose (both of which reference kill animations in Among Us). In all of his poses, he's are shown to have a mouth filled with sharp teeth in the middle of their body. He also has a sharp tongue (shown in their up pose) which is used in the Among Us kill animations to stab crewmates.
Personality[]
Red is decidedly dimwitted, especially when compared to the later opponents of the mod. He does not bother to hide his identity, he openly carries a gun, and his attempts to cover his tracks fall short. That being said, his quick thinking does let him intercept Girlfriend's attempt at calling an emergency meeting by straight up eating her megaphone.
Red is easily angered and petty, killing off both Boyfriend and Girlfriend primarily because he kept losing his rap battles against the former. He also is completely unsympathetic to Boyfriend's plight, either acting annoyed at Boyfriend's grief in V4 or openly mocking it in V3.
That being said, Red isn't without heart somewhere, as his relationship with Green is not portrayed in a negative light, with the two seemingly supporting each other. Their relationship would've been shown further in the scrapped "Double Trouble", but he offhandedly uses his love life (and adoptive child) as a reason to be spared.
Biography[]
Not much is known about Red's life before the events of Week 1, only that he's Green's husband and they adopted a Yellow Mini Crewmate who they named Manny.
Polus Problems (Week 1)[]
Boyfriend and Girlfriend are in the outsides of the planet Polus, when suddenly they hear the kill sound effect. Red then walks into the scene after his crime (his victim presumably being a Cyan Crewmate given the audience in Meltdown), prompting for Girlfriend to try to call a meeting, but before she could do so, Red eats her megaphone and her hand (which she quickly regains her hand). Frustrated, Boyfriend tries tossing Red a microphone, only for it to hit the Impostor in the face. Red tells boyfriend that that really hurt, and after Boyfriend and Girlfriend call him out for being mistrustful and skeptical, but Red tries to convince them that he's a crewmate, but Girlfriend calls him out on having a gun and a knife, Red continues acting as the victim before Boyfriend tells him to rap battle, starting the first song Sussus Moogus.
After Sussus Moogus, Red reloads his gun and then kills Girlfriend, Boyfriend gets angry at Red and promises Girlfriend to avenge her, starting the second song, Sabotage.
After Sabotage, Red gets annoyed at Boyfriend, killing him right in the spot, Red celebrates his victory, however, this is short-lived, as both Boyfriend and Girlfriend respawn, he gets scared and begs them not to hurt him, starting the third and final song, Meltdown.
As Meltdown ends, Boyfriend and Girlfriend's dead bodies get reported, starting a meeting. The remaining crew try to talk things out, but their efforts just devolve into chaos. The madness ends only when Bennet Shifter arrives on the scene, accuses Red of being the Impostor, and gets the entire conversation back on track. Red tries to assure everyone that he was AFK, but no one buys it, leading to everyone but Green (the other Impostor of the round) voting for Red to be ejected, tossing him into lava and sealing his fate.
Deadly Delusion (Week 6)[]
Though not elaborated on, Red's corpse can be found lying in the foreground of the week, presumably having been killed by Gray under the command of Black.
FINALE[]
Red is out of commission yet again in FINALE, his corpse being part of Black's body alongside a variety of other victims, Crewmates and Impostors alike.
In a scrapped cutscene meant for after the mod is finished, Black would've been freed of their corruption. Red, Green, and Yellow would've celebrated their victory, only for the parasite to take ahold of Red, prompting his eyes to shine and his gun to be pulled out. According to an interview between Metatera and Clowfoe, this is the canonical ending of the mod, and the true fate of Red after the mod ends.
Alpha Week[]
In the bonus "Alpha" week, Red returns with the mod's artstyle reverting to how it was back when the mod originated. Having already killed Girlfriend again, he sings with Boyfriend in Alpha Moogus before killing him yet, leading to Actin' Sus.

Trivia[]
- The Impostor uses the pizzicato from the "Dead Body Reported" sound as its voice. Many other impostor throughout the mod use this instrument as their voice as well.
- The vocal melodies in his songs change to various references.
- At 1:04 in Sussus Moogus, the melody is a reference to an infamous remix of Dead Body Reported, commonly called "Among Us Drip Theme". This same melody is also heard in many other songs throughout the mod.
- At 0:45 in Sabotage, the melody is a reference to "AirPod Shotty"
- At 1:13 in Sabotage, the melody takes on the Toppat theme from another game by PuffballsUnited (member of Innersloth), The Henry Stickmin Collection.
- This is likely supposed to be The Airship Arrives from the trailer for the Airship in Among Us.
- At 1:24 in Sabotage, the beginning of the next song, Meltdown can be heard.
- The start of Sabotage is “Why you Actin Sus. Why you acting like Imposter”. at 1:34 in Sabotage, you can also hear the first few notes of "Show Yourself" by CG5.
- The beginning of Meltdown is likely based off of Klungo’s theme from Banjo-Tooie.
- at 0:50 in Meltdown, Lo-Fight from the Vs. Whitty mod can also be heard, or to be more specific, the Lomongus Mod version of it.
- The melody at 1:07 in Meltdown is in reference to the infamous "Among Us Musical"
- At 1:26 in Meltdown is a reference of the last song of the second week, Ejected.
- The Impostor is currently one of only characters so far to do visible physical harm to the Boyfriend and Girlfriend (as seen with their bodies), not that it seems to actually kill them though as they can move perfectly fine.
- Other characters to do this are Corrupt and Tabi.
- This is changed slightly in the new version, Boyfriend and Girlfriend are both killed, but live on as ghosts. This also makes the Impostor the first character to actually kill Boyfriend and Girlfriend.
- The Secret Song is a Tribute to to the Gummy Bear Song.
- The name "Sussus Moogus" Is a reference to a video called "Sussus Amogus".
- The Impostor in the mod is shown to not be working alone, as another Impostor can be seen in the background of Meltdown.
- This second Impostor is Green, who would later go on to be the second week's antagonist.
- This mod is one of the few mods to have a song completely replaced, as Actin Sus was replaced by Sabotage.
- The background of the mod's first week takes place on the planet Polus, a planet and map from Among Us, as the landscape consists of purple dirt and rocks, along with a gray building with a similar interior to that of the buildings on Polus.
- The Impostor is the first mod character to be heard singing outside of their songs, with Tricky being the second, and Void being the third. Specifically, its 'voice' can be heard in the new main menu theme, You're So Sussy.
- The V3 Red Impostor's poses in Meltdown seem to indicate he is more stressed than usual, with more sweat, and a tear on the right side of his visor compared to V2.
- Impostor is the first mod character to be teased for FNF Logic.
- He's confirmed to be gay.
- They are submissive to Green.
- In the scrapped Double Trouble sprites, he holds Green in the same position that Boyfriend holds Girlfriend in Stress.
- For some reason, Red's left and right poses are different between "Sussus Moogus" and "Sabotage", but his up and down poses aren't. He is one of the few recorded mod opponents to share this trait.
