~ RobbieBear to Woody and Andy's toys |
RobbieBear Rives, also known as Robbie, is the main antagonist of the 2023 fanfilm Toy Story: The Sunny Side, sequel to the live-action remake of Toy Story.
He is a large and cuddly teddybear with a mustache and a top hat whom rules Sunnyside Daycare Center with an iron fist and gives orders to his minions including Ken, Bobby Bigfoot, Mandroke, Stretch, Rocksteady and The Chimpanzee.
His dominance and reign of terror all ended when Woody and his gang put an end to it, as he also served as the archenemy of his opposing group as well as the largest threat towards them.
History[]
Past[]
RobbieBear Rives was once upon a time the most loved toy of his former owner Daisy. He was also a good friend in that time of his other roomies, Chuckles and Bobby Bigfoot. One day came however, and Robbie along with the others was forgotten by Daisy at a park, after her mother called her and she was in a rush to go. Robbie and his friends tried to reach home and come back to her, as the journey took them several days. However, he already saw through the window that she replaced him. Out of rage and heavy ego, Robbie lied to his two friends that she replaced all of them. Chuckles knew the truth, but Bobby was too naive to not fall to his manipulation.
He dragged Bobby away from the house, making him terrifically scream out of agony. After another journey in which they've noticed that they were unwanted by people, they found Sunnyside Daycare, and Robbie used the place and shaped it into his own torture chamber with the aid of his henchmen, who all followed him out of fear and did their jobs for him. Robbie started running the place with an iron fist, and his henchmen were seen taking a penguin toddler after killing his mom, and they've presumably sent him to a cage, if not worse.
Toy Story: The Sunny Side[]
After Andy's toys found themselves inside Sunnyside Daycare Center, RobbieBear put on a friendly pose and introduced himself. Making the place look nice and friendly, Robbie and his right-hand man Ken took them for a walk around their place. Andy's toys were impressed, until they were placed inside the Caterpillar Room, and the children there tortured them in horrific ways such as shooting them with a paint gun and throwing a hand grenade with powder inside, which was poisonous for the toys.
Buzz went to talk to Robbie, witnessing that Ken, Mandroke, Stretch and Rocksteady were gambling inside a snack machine. Buzz overheard their suspicious conversation, and out of fear of being exposed, Ken and the other brutes took Buzz to be tortured. RobbieBear however intervened, though he only did so out of pretentious need to not be exposed yet, and he ordered Ken to stop the torture since the newcomers are all his friends. Buzz requests from Robbie to move him and his friends into a better room. RobbieBear at first agrees, but when Buzz says out loud he is going to call his friends, the manipulative and tyrannical Robbie says his friends are not worthy of coming with him to a better room, just before he orders his goons to torture and reset Buzz. The goons reset him to Demo Mode, and this causes him to lose his memory and become a space ranger like he was at the very start of the first film.
Buzz is then convinced by Robbie that Woody and his friends are invaders who work for Emperor Zurg. He then comes to Andy's toys and sadistically asks them if they are enjoying their stay at the Caterpillar Room. Mister Potato Head tries to leave in anger and out of suspicion towards Robbie, so the cruel teddybear throws him into the coffee machine, which spills on him hot coffee and this causes him massive pain.
Mrs. Potato Head tries to protect her husband but Robbie says he is not the one to have consequences here, just before he signals Buzz into entering the scene and brutally beating Andy's toys up under his influence.
The toys are then put into cages by Buzz, Rocksteady and Ken. Barbie sees Ken doing terrible things to the toys, and she angrily breaks up with him and walks away, making Ken feel remorse. Woody however at the same time finds Bonnie, who takes him to her house. Woody meets Chuckles, who tells him about RobbieBear Rives' backstory as Daisy's toy. Woody realizes that he is evil and goes to rescue the others.
Meanwhile, Barbie is told by Ken about Buzz being reset. She makes amends with Ken and then she goes to give Buzz his memories back, but Robbie watches Ken on camera, and goes with Bobby Bigfoot to punish him. Bobby lifts him up into the air, but Robbie tells him to put him down, and let him watch the crew suffer from behind as a punishment.
After Woody and Buzz defeat The Chimpanzee and place him inside a sack so he won't make any noise which shall summon RobbieBear, all of Andy's toys go through the pipeline of the Sunnyside Daycare Center and Slinky throws himself towards the other side of the dumpster, so the others can walk on him and use him like a bridge, and finally escape. Robbie however enters the scene surprisingly, with his gang surrounding him and Mandroke coming from behind Andy's toys. Robbie also tells them about the dumpster which is in between them and their way to escape, and he threatens to give Mandroke the order to push them into the dumpster. He tells them that if they come back he shall not give Mandroke the order. However, before he could give Mandroke any orders, Ken came to help them as he redeemed himself and after Robbie threw him across, he spoke infront of everyone about how Robbie dictated Sunnyside, built a pyramid and put himself ontop. Robbie asked if anyone agrees with Ken. Everyone still obeyed Robbie out of fear, and the satisfied tyrant told the toys to remember inside the dump how humans just throw toys away.
Robbie tries to walk out of the scene, but Woody however starts speaking loudly about Daisy, pointing out RobbieBear is cruel and manipulative to others, lying to Bobby Bigfoot that their owner replaced all of them. Robbie suddenly stands still and out of evilness he tells everyone she never loved anyone. Woody denies it and points out to Bobby that he was merely a pawn for Robbie and not close to being his friend, as he always lied to him and just because of him everyone had to abandon Daisy and not the other way round.
Bobby then gets mad, and Robbie takes a fork and stabs Bobby while shouting out agressively that Daisy sold him for drinking soda. He then egoistically claims that this is what comes for a toy who doesn't agree with him, and that they are all meant to be thrown away. After his performance, Bobby recovers and picks him up. Robbie tries to convince Bobby to spare him, but Bobby throws him into the dumpster.
Andy's toys try to jump to the other side and escape, but they fail to cross the dumpster and fall into it. Woody sees that Robbie is inside and he lifts a rock off his foot so he can escape the danger zone. The toys then seemingly see daylight ahead of them, but in reality, it was the fire that burns down the trash.
Woody begins to suspect that it's not daylight, but before he could do anything, Robbie betrays him and after being saved by him, Robbie pushes Woody, making him fall towards the fire. Woody almost dies, and the toys almost beat Robbie up, but they decide to leave Robbie alone and quickly save Woody. Buzz and Slinky help Woody climb back to the surface successfully. Robbie manages to escape the dumpster, but he finds himself on a road, asking where he is. A scavenger came and found him, as he gave Robbie as a present to his dog, who chewed him up and most likely ended Robbie's life. Ken also made Sunnyside into a better place, and the goons redeemed themselves offscreen.
Personality[]
RobbieBear Rives is a manipulative, powerful, cruel, dictating, murderous and sociopathic teddybear who would do anything to sadistically rule Sunnyside and make other toys suffered just like he did.
At first glance, Robbie was polite and caring, and soon it was shown that all this goodness was a complete ploy, in order to lore them into his "torture chamber". Robbie was enjoying himself when others went through pain. When Buzz was reset, or when the toys were put into cages, he seemed to enjoy seeing them in pain and torture.
Because he felt rejected by Daisy, even subverting his own tragedy about this, he carried Bobby Bigfoot with him and lied to his own roomies that they were all rejected by her. This must have hurt her a lot, if she remembered them and knew that they were missing.
Ontop of all, Woody tries to save him, and as a thankyou for that, RobbieBear pushes him towards the fiery pit.
He managed Sunnyside as a dictator whom organized the place as a torture chamber or concentration camp. Eventually, he felt alone, and paid his heavy price by getting lost, losing power and then feeling pain before presumably dying.
Trivia[]

- RobbieBear Rives' name is based on two brands of a teddybear; Robbie Bears, and Rives.
- He was originally going to be scrapped from the dumpster scenes. However, the creator saw potential in his evilness.
- So far, he alongside Milo Watson and Alpine were the darkest and most terrifying villains of the Pixar Fanverse.
