Eve, better known as The Root of Evil, or simply just Roo, is the overarching antagonist of Hazbin Hotel.
She is a sadistic, omnimalevolent entity who was the second woman to be created by the angels. She was created to serve as Adam's second companion and bride in the Garden of Eden after Lilith, the first woman, had refused to submit to Adam's will and left the garden, falling in love with Lucifer instead. She was eventually tricked by Lucifer into eating the Forbidden Fruit that was strictly forbidden to eat, hence its given name. After having gladly accepted the fruit, she was filled with malice and evil, slowly corrupting her once innocent personality into a pure evil and malicious monster. After having become the literal embodiment of evil and sin, she corrupted the Earth, thus shattering the order Heaven had aimed to uphold. Before Lucifer and Lilith's banishment, she created Hell. And after their banishment, she coerced Lilith into using her songs and performances to transform Hell into a realm of evil that amplifies and enhances her already immense power.
Being the creator of Hell, she wields immense influence and control over Hell and its inhabitants. The eyes that are spread all across the Pride Ring are all used and created by Roo as a way to spy and stalk sinners who she views as nothing but toys she uses to enhance her powers.
She is also Alastor's soul owner, having tricked the Radio Demon into signing his soul away for immense eldritch power for reasons still unknown.
Due to being the literal embodiment of evil and due to her actions that lead to humanity and Hell's corruption, she is reponsible for all the actions that takes place in the series, most notably being responsible for the corruption of Hell and turning it into the bowl of sin and vice that it is (leading to the creation of the Extermination). She is also responsible for everything wrong with creation, and she is determined to one day destroy everything and rebuild the universe in her wicked, malicious image.
She is voiced by Yvonne Strahovski, who also voiced Miranda Lawson in the Mass Effect video game series and Batwoman in the DC Animated Movie Universe.
Appearance[]
Roo appears to be a slim demoness with white skin, and long flame-like black hair with an auburn-colored gradient. Her mouth is full of sharp, needle-like teeth, and her eyes sport red sclera and white irises with very small pupils. Additionally, she also wears burgundy eyeshadow.
She has black lips, and what appears like black veins in her neck, which, along with her arms, are shown to be shackled and enchained.
Roo wears a large, wide-brimmed black fedora with a white band, an unknown symbol on the center, a red-and-white checkered under-brim. Along with this, she wears a ripped, sleeveless, red opened trench coat with the same checkered under-brim as her fedora, along with a checkered tube top underneath, long black gloves, and black tight-fitting pants.

- Eldritch Power: Due to her ancient nature, being many billion years old and wielding eldritch abilities after having eaten the Forbidden Fruit, Roo possesses immense eldritch power that surpassess the power that of normal demons and most angels. She can corrupt infinity, warp reality as she sees fit, shapeshift without limits, create life, consume entire planets using her roots, create copies of herself, use her eldritch claws to tear holes in reality, and read into the minds of people effortlessly.
- Demonic Transformation: When greatly angered or annoyed, Roo is capable of entering a much more eldritch, uncanny Full Demon Form and effortlessly return back to normal whenever.
- Immortality: As an eldritch entity, Roo is both biologically and physically immortal, being unable to die from illnesses and unable to age, remaining the same age as when she was corrupted by the Forbidden Fruit, thus cannot die of old age and other natural causes. She also cannot die from any kind of damage to the body, and will recover from any injury.
- Nigh-Invulnerability: As an eldritch entity, Roo is also extremely tough, and can take ungodly amounts of punishment and get up seconds later as if nothing happened.
- Regeneration: Roo possesses remarkably rapid regenerative capabilities that enable her to swiftly recover her strength and mend even the most grievous of injuries. In certain instances, she may not even experience the sensation of pain from these severe wounds or even the loss of limbs.
- Evil Manipulation: Due to being the literal embodiment of evil and sin, Roo is able to wholly manipulate and control evil. Using her immense control over evil, she can infect whoever she desires with evil, turning heroes into villains, friends into foes, and the righteous into the damned.
- Mind Reading: One of Roo's signature powers, she can see into the minds of others, allowing her to see their deepest memories and thoughts, even memories that her victims may have forgotten or suppressed.
- Death Inducement: Roo possesses the power to bring about the death of other beings, be it through immediate or gradual means, often by placing curses upon them.
- Chaos Manipulation: Roo can manipulate chaotic forces, warping and disobeying the laws of physics and inciting discord, insanity, and mayhem.
- Pseudo-Black Hole Creation: Roo is able to create small red black holes that can easily suck up anything that is nearby its vicinity, making it almost impossible to escape her if she is angered or triggered.
- Omnimalevolence: As the Root of Evil, Roo is infinitely malevolent and is the very reason why humans can commit sin and depravity. She is capable of mass-influencing other beings into being evil, and is completely immoral and highly manipulative.
- Elemental Manipulation: Roo can create, shape and manipulate the basic elements of nature, the rudimentary, simplest or essential parts/principles of which nature consits of. While she mostly prefers to use fire, she has on occasion used other elements such as earth, water, or the air.
- Teleportation: Roo can teleport herself or others instantly by summoning a tornado of trash around herself and/or her targets, allowing them to disappear or reappear in a different location from the tornado.
- Ergokinesis: Roo can absorb ambient heat and convert it into kinetic force, creating powerful shockwaves or propelling objects at high speeds. During combat, Roo can unleash devastating energy attacks, form protective barriers, or enhance her physical abilities by channeling energy into her muscles. In healing, she can accelerate the body's natural repair processes by infusing cells with energy. In technological realms, Roo can interface with and control electronic devices, drawing power directly from energy sources or manipulating the energy flow within circuits.
- Electrokinesis: Roo can manipulate and control electronics, allowing her to easily destroy any electronic device if she so desires. She can even permanently shut down Vox if she absolutely wanted to.

- Cosmic Awareness: Roo possesses an unparalleled understanding of the universe's mysteries. Her cosmic awareness grants her knowledge of events happening across the cosmos, enabling her to act on a universal scale. This awareness also allows her to detect shifts in the balance of power and respond accordingly.
- Mastery of Manipulation: The Root of Evil is a consummate, excellent manipulator, utilizing her guile and charm to gain the trust of others effortlessly and use them in her favor.
- Charisma: Leveraging her affable and laid-back charm or exploiting the vulnerabilities and frailties of the psyche, Roo is easily capable of feigning kindness and deceiving her targets into believing she is harmless, effortlessly duping them into helping her advance her goals.
- Ocular Illumination: Roo's eyes give off a faint red glow, particularly if she is in a dark room, and her teeth can glow when she is giving a sinister smile.
