Rot

Rot is a member of the Dark Ones and the embodiment of emotional, spiritual and physical decay - the daughter of Misery and Oblivion, she seeks to gain favor with Misery and has an extremely close bond with her "mother" which showcases the often duel-nature of the Dark Ones (evil-minded towards mortals yet caring towards their own kind).

Rot is an incredibly intelligent Absolute, like her mother, yet often acts much like a "teenager" - prone to rash actions and impulse, she seeks to impress her mother at all costs but often receives little thanks for her efforts.

Unlike the other Dark Ones Rot does not see Evil as a true enemy, sensing that Evil and Misery were linked she treats Evil as a "grandmother" figure rather than a maligned enemy and rarely gets involved in matters to do with Evil versus the Absolutes.

History[]

during the Hyborean Era Rot was worshipped by early practitioners of what would become necromancy - going under the guise of the "Night Queen", during this period of time she was working with other Absolutes to try and free humanity from the Old Ones but did so in a way that was considered "malevolent" to the Gentle Ones.

Powers/Abilities[]

As the embodiment of emotional, spiritual and physical decay Rot has a number of powers at her disposal, such as:

  • Immortality
  • Manifestation
  • Incarnation
  • Possession
  • Illusion Casting
  • Power Bestowal / Removal
  • Dimensional-Control
  • Shape-Shifting
  • Time-Alteration
  • Omnipresence
  • Omniscience
  • Decay (Rot causes emotional, spiritual and physical decay - emotional decay ultimately results in apathy, spiritual decay in nihilism and physical decay is, of course, the process of rotting away)
