Imagine all your nightmares contained in a single glorified reformatory.
Where nothing ever gets out.
Straitjackets have been worn out.
Good guys, bad guys accommodated!
If it don't make any sense, like its something in a story.
We'll make sure it stays fiction, in our superstitious foundation.

SCP-035, also known as The Possessive Mask, is the main antagonist of CG5's 2020 song Superstitious Foundation, based on the SCP Foundation mythos.

It is a mysterious drama mask, that is classed Keter, that has the ability to possess the wearer once applied. It is responsible for freeing SCP-096.

It is portrayed by CG5.

Biography[]

Unlike its canonical counterparts, this variant is enigmatic. Not much is known about its past.

At the start of the animation, it is applied to a D-Class personal, which while in its control, taunts the Foundation scientists watching it. The leading researcher blacks out and wakes up to the three guards that were beside him dead on the ground, presumably killed by 035's rampage.

Later, it is shown that SCP-096 "Shy Guy", SCP-049 "The Plague Doctor", SCP-106 "The Old Man" and presumably many more SCPs were freed across the Foundation. During the song, the leading researcher is trying to survive while close to 096. He closes his eyes to calm himself, but is greeted by a manifestation of 035 within his head. 035 taunts the researcher, pushing him to the ground and then summoning dark, tall apparetions of 096.

Scared out of his head, he begins to shoot the real 096, who then is angered and charges at him. A chase begins within the facility. The researcher manages to close a door with an object thrown at the button, allowing him to enter but slowing 096 down. Eventually, 096 breaks the door and keeps chasing the man. Ultimately, he meets his end after another set of doors corner him within Foundation walls, allowing 096 to end him.

Personality[]

SCP-035 is quite enigmatic, but from what is seen, it is aptly dramatic. It doesn't seem to care at all about the deaths or consequences it causes, rather just the chaos that happens with it.

Despite being dramatic, it is also no doubt sadistic. It clearly loves doing what it is doing as shown when he invaded the lead researcher's mind.

Trivia[]

  • 035 may be talking as a Foundation member, as it says "in our superstitious foundation", along with speaking like one too. If it is, it is definitely to mock the Foundation for doing to much to keep it and the other SCPs at bay for practically nothing.
  • 035's corrosion ability is never actually used in Superstitious Foundation's music video. The corrosive substance that it expells, however, can be seen on it's mask.
  • It is hinted it has killed itself, not just using 096, as he is seen laying down in a blood splatter before explaining the other SCPs.
  • As for the other SCPs, it is heavily implied that they are mutually freed from their containment chambers, at least the ones animate and are seen with red alarm lights flashing in their decal.
